For those who actually liked Freddy, what would you have changed?

Or would you have changed anything, at all?

I was happy with Freddy's inclusion, and he was a lot of fun to play as. But obviously, there's a few things they did wrong, imo.

Like not using Robert Englund's likeness, even as an alt. Not giving him any alts in general was also a problem. You couldn't even select his player 2 colors (I know the same was true of all DLC characters)

The extra glove. Not that big a deal, but unnecessary.

The lack of a ANOES-themed stage. Of course that had less to do with Freddy himself.

I liked his babality, but him turning into his demonic form from the fifth movie would have been awesome. In fact his babality could have remained the same, but with that form instead.

Finally, his complete lack of dialogue. It's like beyond the laughter, Freddy was giving his best Jason impression. It's a pity MK9 didn't have intros like those MKX will have, as Freddy would have benefitted from those. Freddy not talking, that's just not Freddy.

Freddy was solid. Just needs one glove.

The player 2 colours IS selectable. The same IS true of the other DLC characters. I can and have done it.

The extra glove was necessary, from a programming/animating POV. Unless they re-do what they did with Drahmin in MKDA and have him constantly face one way in order for the animations to consistently be accurate.

Either the non-gloved hand would occasionally slash the way the gloved hand should, or he just faces the same way and can't change stance. (Not a huge gameplay influencer, but it looks odd if he can't and the others can.) Drahmin does this odd, 'double' backstep in DA. In Armageddon they avoided the problem altogether by making the iron club switch hands, and that also looked odd. Basically with asymmetry of movement, there's always going to be a problem.

Personally i don't know if there is anything i would change, Except for the Robert Englund non-resemblance, but we know why that is. Crass cross-promotion wins out.
