Game Informer released an article about what they want and do not want in MK9/MK2011. You can find it Here.
In my personal opinion, this is a really thin perspective of opinion and claimed knowledge. They show no thought or knowledge to the fact there are actually two Sub-Zeros and they demand that the unmasked version be thrown away.
thoughts?

They're saying they want to throw out the unmasked model because they didn't like his look. They aren't saying they want the younger Sub-Zero gone.

But even if that's what they meant, it's still a terrible choice considering other characters, especially since Sub-Hasselhoff was well-received in both MK3 and MKDA. I don't how they can say with any authority that he shouldn't have the mask.
I'm not a fan of Drahmin, but being that they thought he was less desirable then Hsu Hao shows these guys have no clue what they're talking about. I also wonder why they focused on how absent Baraka has been from the series. That absence long expired: he's been in every MK game in the last six years.
This article has we-didn't-feel-like-researching written all over it. It's like they pulled Drahmin out of a hat, and as JadedReign beautifully pointed out, the Palette swap issue hasn't been relevant for more than 12 years. In fairness, all of the gaming media giants have made error after error about the MK storyline. But that doesn't make it okay.

the fact that they did not have the knowledge to know and throw that out there, shows that they likely dont even know that 2 sub-zero's existed.
Well I pretty much agree with the names on the list. Stryker and Sheeva, I'm not into their design, moves or story. But that is my personal opinion. I don't mind seeing an unmasked sub zero..but definitly not the one from MK3. Drahmin, well he might have some fans..but I think that MK can survive without him.
The pallete swapping is a thing of the past. So they don't need to worry about that.

Well, apart from this, which seems to have been overlooked by a few people on this thread..
"This younger version featured all the moves of his older brother"

I considered Drahmin high tier after watching MKL own people with him at a Comp.
Plus I thought he had great moves

I still have those videos.
Drahmin is top tier in both games he is in, MKDA and MKA.
Boon tweeted on the article. First releasing this statement...
"No Stryker? No Sheeva? And come on now....we haven't palette swapped in about 15 years!! Still...a fun article."
He followed up with these statements:
"We should put in Stryker and Prototype Stryker.....just to prove a point !!!"
"Or GUN Stryker !! Sheeee..... "
Note: The Prototype and GUN prefixes are references to Tekken and its many variations of the Jack character, try not to read too deep into it.

I'm pretty sure that's not even their opinion. It's just a reworded copy and paste of the popular opinion. It's like people can't think for themselves. It's like a few people reasonably hate Stryker and everyone else just follows.
