Loved this character. I don't care what people say about his alternate costume in this game, I fucking love it.

Everything about this character is just freaking awesome. He always always my favorite during MK3 and he still is today.

Just one thing that bothers me with him and Sindel in this story. If he sacrificed himself to killed Sindel and such, how did Quan Chi restored him and Sindel perfectly fine in the Netherrealm? He sacrificed him and her to the ancestors, right? How did they get back to normal in zombie mode towards the end? This is the only thing that was bothering me throughout the end of the story.

But other than that, I loved this character. His story could have been a little bit better in here, but his arcade ending... Fucking awesome.

About Me

Keep dunking your Kenshi breadsticks into your Skarlet sauce, people! The main course isn't coming for a while, and you never know when it's going to be disappointing.

NIGHTWOLF'S FUTURE:
Nightwolf used to be one of the most hated characters in the series, second only to Stryker.

(Which was like saying the Ewoks weren't as hated as Jar-Jar)

HAHAHAHAHAHA~

Wait, that means Stryker is Jar Jar. sad

Anyway, I've always been pretty neutral toward Nightwolf. He was pretty inoffensive to me, so I always kind of accepted him as being an acceptable character. I never found him that interesting, but I had a bias to prefer Stryker, Sonya, the 'ninjas', and the 'she-ninjas'. I was kid, give me a break.

And maybe I always caught up in my Stryker fandom, but I never really noticed as much hate for Nightwolf.

Regardless, this game seriously improved my opinion of him. He was awesome. However, I felt like he got the MK3 disease. He was pretty much useless until the MK3 story came around, and then it was just, "OH SHIT! We have to throw him into fights! Whatever fights we can make, throw him into one!" I felt Stryker and Kabal got similar treatment, but I can't really complain all that much about Stryker in this game. <3

Only complaint with the new one is how scrubs play as him. It's like the Chumbawonba song.

I get knocked down.
Then I use shoulder charge.
Then I knock my opponent down.

People sure love the 'wake up shoulder charge' game.

I think he could evolve his looks to be less of a cliche character like the X-Man James Proudstar, aka Warpath.

One of the best examples of native american character without too many cliches is warpath IMO. Even when his old brother (he is really a continuation of the old brother with the same powers, as he died on the first mission, much like old and young sub-zero in the games) who appeared many (a lot of) years before that wave of native american characters you mentioned, he wasn't too typical native if we place the context on his time (ok, his brother was called THUNDERbird...).

And the character has evolved a lot since then, right now you know that he is a native american but it's not what defines him, his powers (super-strenght, partial invulnerability and peak human conditions instead of arrow and axe, though he uses vibranium knives) are the important thing about him and the character is treated like another x-man.

In some arcs some stuff about his tribe or his ancestors is implied, but in a cool way instead of a "look I have a feathered crown and this is what I use when I go to my office" way like other cliche characters.

And when I say cool way I mean using them to be able to interact with the spirit realm in order to fight a life force stealer villaness rised into a godess after absorbing 16 millions of souls, making his team look this cool in the process:

(yes, that's wolverine with war paints on the left)

I don't think he sacrificed himself and Sindel TO his ancestors. I think he just used their power to kill them both at once. And thus, Nightwolf's ancestors couldn't keep his or Sindel's souls. They just helped finished them off, and then Quan Chi snatched them up for his Netherrealm army.

These KOTW threads are great. Well put to together and I get a good chuckle out of them (just reading them now)

Anyway this was actually the first game where i grew to like nightwolf. The whole nobel thing, self sacrafice loved it. Yea hes a tad streoypical, but they couldnt change a character they already made, with that said I think they did a great job of reinventing him (like stryker people actually like him now)

Where his could should go from here: IMO he should stay dead, his death had the most impact (competing with kung lao) With that said I think it would be cool if someone from his bloodline would fill in (gameplay and stoy wise).

This is just a pipe dream, but I think a younger relative who is more into modern society (not to into his roots) who eventually discoveres he has powers and an ancestor of nightwolf (reincarnation i dunno?)

I dunno about you guys but I fucking loved his ending. Call me absolutely insane and i dont know shit about mk, but I wanna see this go somewhere (not exactlly like his ending obviously) Then again I may just be begging for this seeing as there hasnt been a darkstalers or ki game in 15 years (Werewolvs are awsome, but werewolvs that know martial arts?!)
