Harley Quinn for DLC {explanation inside}

Everyone who was here during the time MK/DC was still played should remember the infamous DLC announcements for MK/DC of Midway. Quan Chi and Harley Quinn, they never saw the daylight in the specific game.

It's all different today, Mortal Kombat rolling with NetherRealm Studios under Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment now. The almost finished Quan Chi DLC was shown to the public while Harley Quinn DLC was not, Quan Chi also made it to MK2011 basing to his MK/DC build.



We have gotten a few nods to MK/DC to MK2011 already - Raiden's flashback, Tsung's Fatality and DLC Quan Chi imported - and already have a couple of guest stars in the game (one of which is WB's): so why not to have the ready Harley Quinn for DLC for easy profits?

The release could be timed with Batman: Arkham City for instance. If nothing else, we should at least have a look of what Harley Quinn was supposed to look like.

They may have taken bits and bobs from Harley Quins build and sort of split them up, I'm of course talking about Combos and Specials.

Hopefully yes. They didn't utilize the DC characters special moves fully though. Green Lantern's green wall would have fitted for Quan Chi (skull wall) perfectly for instance.

MK9 does not need to fulfill vDC's broken promises. If more DLC characters are to be released, she would be a waste of roster spot. It goes without saying that the next batch should be MK only, but if another guest is dreadfully included, they should go after someone worthy of the trouble.

If I had to pick another DCU character it would be Poison Ivy and maybe Aquaman; otherwise NO!!!!!

Yet I have to agree that Quan Chi should've gotten the skull wall move!!!

No, the time for Harley Quinn was MKv.DC, years ago, where guest characters make sense (a crossover game).

We already are going to have two guest characters, I'd prefer this to stay MK as opposed to turning it into a crossover game with so many guest characters.

Dont get me wrong I do like Harley, but considering the reaction from the fans over Kratos and Freddy, I seriously doubt any character outside of M rated stuff would be considered.

And I wouldn't mind a MK Vs DCU 2 to be honest.

As I've said before the only Guest Character I would actually look forward to in this game would be Albert Wesker, Kratos I do not like in this game, Freddy Krueger I'm wanting to play as myself before I say he is crap.

Great thread, Zmoke! Good job!

I'd gladly take Harley Quinn over Kratos and Freddy in a second. She'd be a more interesting and fun mix, imo.

That being said, I think she's a likely candidate for a MKvsDC 2 or something. I'm not sure what her chances are as a potential guest star for the future, to be honest. I can already picture her horrible bio...the other 2 have more credibility as part of the story, even if its still not canon.

I guess they could squeeze her in by making a fun MKvsDC reference. tongue

But, yeah, Harley kicks Kratos' and Freddy's butt without any effort.

Some of those DC special moves were sooooo meant to be for MK characters.

My issues with guest characters aside, the thought of her being brutally murdered doesn't sit well. I wub her too much. ;_;

She may come from the mean streets of Gotham, but she's an ill fit for MK. Far too light of a character by nature, homicidal maniac though she may be.

So, no. MKDC would have been a good time, but that ship sailed.

I do truly believe that even if you offered free blow jobs/muff dives with every free download of Harley Quinn, people will sulk, bitch, moan and complain.

I would download Harley. Like I'm going to download Freddy. But there is a lot of anger at guest characters for some reason.

I don't remember Capcom and Namco fans committing suicide at the thought of crossovers but the reactions to Vs DCU, Kratos and, now, Freddy. Just makes me face palm.

I think the only thing that would work would be a Halloween costume pack.

Basically pretty much nothing wrong with the character, but no. I think we've had enough DC. Those idiots wouldn't propably still let us kill their "mascots" nor their other characters, you can understand Kratos and Freddy because they get mutilated a thousand times in their own media. (Not sure about Kratos, correct me if I'm wrong. I did hear he resurrected HIMSELF like, 3 times or something.)

I'd say the only thing keeping this great character from not happening is Capcom. They just wouldn't, and everybody knows that. Even is Wesker got bl... Oh wait. Nothing.

Which oddly enough I'm hoping for lol I mean they might as well since they're giving us bogus guests anyways plus I really wanna see poison ivy and harley in an mk game hehe ;b

Oh I like this idea. Harley Quinn would be cool as DLC. She's an awesome character. I agree with the people who say she should be in MK vs. DC 2 instead though. I would love her to be in this game cuz I'm a fan of Batman but I think she wouldn't be as interesting to the MK-fans though. Still it would be cool to see her included in a Batman pack for MK released at the same time or shortly before Arkham City.
