Im not to sure how people felt about this in mka but I liked it. What would everyone think if it returned. With improvments of course

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't, but Ed Boon did say in an interview about a few surprises or something when it came to characters, so who knows.

The feature sucked hair monkey balls. Really it did. Broken characters is all you faced online and I'm not going to go through that shit again. No thanks, this feature can not return again.

I've thought about this for a while and here's my take:

I like what kreate a kharacter offers in terms of replay value. It gives you something to do when you've unlocked all the characters, outfits etc, beaten the story with everyone and you don't feel like playing people online.

It's just an added layer of stuff to shoot for in that regard. Plus, it can be fun to create your own characters and mold them to your liking.

However, I do agree that these characters have NO place online. You want to break your own game? That's fine, but don't go messing up the online scene just because you found a way to connect moves in a cheap manner.

Would I be sad if it didn't return? Not really, but I like the single player experience that something like this can provide IF it's done well. MKA was NOT a good example of a good, well executed create a character mode. It can be done, and when it's done well, it can be a blast.

But that said, I seriously doubt we'll see it in the next game. As long as they have some other good single player modes like survival, I can get along just fine without it.

I like creating my own characters in games, but I don't want it for MK. It was fun in MK:A, but far too often when I create my own guy do I end up not using the actual roster. I want to fully appreciate the characters, and I feel this time they are really going to be awesome. So no, I do not want it in the game. I'd rathe rthat time is used on making all the characters better.

No thanks. It's a dumb idea for real fighting games. Just takes development time away from things that actually matter.

Kreate a karacter was an awesome idea. There were some flaws in the MkA version tho. Like the body of the character had to be symmetric (ie: no Left Arm, Right Shoulder options) and Raiden's powers weren't available for example.

But there was nothing better than calling your best friend up, who lives 20 mins away, and challenging your DREAM mk character versus his Dream mk character... and then ripping his head off at the end. They could make both KaK camps happy by having this in the game, but having only some servers allow the created fighters online, easy fix. U dont wanna play against broken characters, dont play in that server. U wanna have a blast with your best friends and not take the game so seriously, join our server. lol

I do agree with the Tekken6 idea of being able to customize the regular roster. U have no idea how many times i wanted to slap that stupid red beret off of Jax in MkDA!!! haha. It would be sweet if at the touch of a button we could just take off subzero's mask, raiden's hat, or fight w/ scorpion's flaming skull. Im really hoping we get this option in MK9 if we're gonna be robbed of Alternate costumes like in MKvsDC

I much rather inputting a code like mk4 at the Character select screen or dlc outfits..or by simply to complete the mode/s with a fighter to open their outfit.

Agreed. KAK gives players a chance to make cheap ass characters, and they also piss all over the hard work the devs put into making the original characters. Take the Tekken/ VF option.

it should take the SC approach and have both customisable outfits for the regular cast as well as Kreate a Fighter from scratch.

I make awesome CAWs.
I made Ronald McDonald in SCIV
Magneto, Green Lantern, Nightcrawler, Thor, Aquaman, and various others in MK:A.

I had a lot of fun with MKA's version. But if it is added keep it offline for sure.

I wouldn't mind if they had character modifications, similar to Tekken. Something like putting accessories on certain characters, changing their colors (aside from the ninjas, of course) or even alternate clothing, like having different types of patterns on Scorpion's clothing, or things like that.
I think that kind of stuff would be cool.

Yea I should point out that I never played MKA online and clearly understand how cheap they can be. maybe if they had restrictions online for them eg both players have to agree to them. Be cool if they had templates of characters not included, but then again DLC is for that

creating a character has become a favorite aspect for fighting games in recent years for me. i loved creating mk characters in soul calibur 3, etc. the simple solution to thwart a glut of cheap created characters online is... drum roll... make them only playable in matches that it is allowed. a simple turn on/off button to allow or disallow a created fighter for an online match more than solves that issue. that way everyone wins; those who hate created fighters dont have to deal with em and those who like creating their own can just fight those who will allow it.
