List them and reasons why you don't like them here.

Quan Chi - He's annoying, cheap and bland.

Sub Zero - This could be more opinion based since I am a Scorpion fan. But I never found Sub Zero to be particularly interesting or fun to play as.

Kitana - Again, a matter of opinion as I am a fan of Mileena. But she kind of became a Mary-Sue from MKG onward and was kind of annoying in MK2011, I was actually kind of relieved that they axed her late in MK2011's story.

Hsu Hao - Bland and uninteresting.

Bo Rai Cho - Johnny Cage was already a great humor-based character, so another wasn't needed, not to mention Bo Rai Cho was quite annoying. How I wish they had a revised version of Zebron instead.

Mokap - pretty fun character to play as, but I could care less about him.

Jade - Not really that interesting and the CPU makes her far too overpowered, not to mention she's really overrated.

Frost - A female Sub Zero? No thanks.

Baraka - He was a bit too much of a brainless brute for my liking.

Kobra and Dairou are my least favourite - because of all the wasted potential mostly. Kobra should be a lot more badass than he ended up and Dairou had relly underwhelming moves with no personality.

I never really enjoyed playing Kano. I never cared for his story, his moves aren't that interesting, and I feel that his character hasn't gone anywhere that's important to the main story. At least in 2011, he had a chance to be somewhat interesting, but I felt that he ended up being just a runt.

I am a fan of Reptile, but I completely dislike his stories. I get it, he's the last of his kind and he'll do anything to get his race resurrected. However, the choices that he has made has never gotten anywhere close for his race to be resurrected. Even with Khameleon having a biography that talks about Reptile, he DOESN'T team up with her! Seriously? You're telling me that a character that is desperately searching for a way to bring back his race refuses to team up with someone who KNOWS what happened to his race and WANTS to bring it back as well? I have no idea what they were thinking with this character's story, but it better well damn change soon. I'm tired of him being the pet, he needs to take control of his own damn self and become a threat. I didn't even care for him turning into Onaga, that story was just pure crap if you ask me.

Darius and Dairou are two characters that I can talk together because neither of them were remotely interesting, nor did I care for either of their appearances in Deception. First of all, I have no clue what the heck Darius is supposed to be be looking at him. When I read his biography, I thought he was so bland, so unimportant, so thoughtless that he was just a throw in the last minute kind of character. None of his moves even made sense, and I thought it was an insult to Cyrax when people thought he was Cyrax unmasked! Dairou, I felt, had he be introduced in Deadly Alliance like he was supposed to be, maybe he would have been more of a well-liked character. But he wasn't, and he was thrown into Deception with a bland story, lame moves, and just didn't quite fit right. And to go against one of my favorite characters from Deception, I thought the feud with him and Hotaru was uninteresting from the start.

Li Mei, I never cared for her. I actually laughed very, very hard when I saw her ending when I beat Deadly Alliance with her. I understand what her character is supposed to be, but I thought, "Man, you are just not an awesome character!" And then to make matters worse, she gets teamed up with a character I actually like (who some I feel just don't understand the whole point of Bo Rai' Cho's character at all), she looks like she's going to help with the good guys, and in the end, she decides to get busy with the Dragon King. Come on, what the hell is this character supposed to be? You have her getting slain/almost slain in Deadly Alliance and then you make her look like a badass, I really was hoping that they had done something better with her in Deception. They really made me actually like her... up until I saw that blasted ending that got me annoyed with this character and I said, "Never again, sorry." If she were to come back, I don't know if I'll like her. That's not to say I won't play as her, I mean she was a good fighter to play as, but her story... For heaven's sake her story was just so over the place, she makes no sense!

Sonya... Let me first say I never... ever liked this character. I will nitpick and nitpick and nitpick until they finally change her to a character that actually IS decent. First of all, she is supposed to be representing a chick from the military, and yet, majority of her appearances looks like she's coming from an 80's gym montage. Back during the glory days of live action capturing, I never thought she was a cool looking character. A badass who has the military behind her, yeah I don't see that. And then, to make things worse, she has these random abilities that I don't get. Someone mentioned that it's "chi" but when it comes from a character that could have all these gadgets and gear that could be so cool looking for a character who's supposed to be a soldier to have, I don't understand the magic. I'm shooting out a fireball from my hands by kissing it out to you. At least with the latest game, they FINALLY made it to where she's using gadgets to her advantage. But her appearance. I was against it, I really was. But I'm not going to go out and beyond and just be like, "Oh another woman with ginormous boobs and massive sex appeal, blah blah blah." No, at least look like a damn solider for once. The only outfit that I actually liked, that they finally did right for once, and I don't mind the high heel boots either, was her alternate in Deadly Alliance. Finally, something they did right with her character for once. And please don't get me started with her retarded split fatality... All I'm going to say is that It. Made. No. Fucking. SENSE! I remember that I drew a picture trying to sketch out how it was supposed to make sense, and no matter how I drew it, there was nothing that showed that it did.... She performs a split and somehow that magically made her opponent get sliced in half. HOW?!?!?!

I can go on, but I have to be somewhere in a few minutes, so I'll stop here, however, there's one thing I have to nitpick about one of your choices, and it's not because I'm a fan of Kitana, that's got nothing to do with it, I just quite don't get something:

I have to nitpick this because I don't understand how Kitana is a Mary Sue. She definitely has a lot of faults to her character. Mary Sues are never to make bad choices, and some of the choices that she makes throughout both the old and the new timeline got herself into immediate trouble. Sure, she gets saved, but then more trouble happens to her and she either gets killed and enslaved or gets killed and enslaved. Either way, none of the choices that she has made throughout both timelines has ended well for her, thus she really wouldn't be considered a Mary Sue. Plus, she's not little Miss Perfect either.

I'm not trying to offend you or anything, but I really don't see the Mary Sue thing in her character.

@Icebaby: Perhaps Mary Sue is not the right word to describe her. I guess I should have said shallow and overrated(and with crazy cheap AI in MK2), in that you really don't learn anything about her other than the fact that she's the princess of Edenia and that Shao Kahn killed her father, that's it. Although I am a fan of the 1995 film version of Kitana(mostly because her actress did a decent job.)

Speaking of which....

Sonya - Pretty much exactly what Icebaby said. But I would like to add that I liked the whole military side to her - but Jax handled that far better, making Sonya kind of worthless to me. Granted the 1995 film version was what she should have been.

Hotaru - He's not that interesting and a pain to play as.

Daegon - He wasn't that well-developed. At least Taven and Shujinko were decent characters.

Li Mei - To be honest, Li Mei was a half decent character in MKDA, but that was only because she was an expy of, you guessed it, Mileena. Her later versions were rather bland.

Let's see...

Quan Chi.

God I hate this prick. He's the biggest douchebag in fighting games. He screws over everyone he comes into contact with, and has absolutely no loyalty to anyone but himself. I can't WAIT until Scorpion and Sub-Zero tag team his pale ass and finish him for good. Oh wait, this is MK. And in MK death is a hollow joke.

Tanya

Nothing against Tanya, I just don't like her. Her moveset is bland as shit. Then of course, there's the fact that she's a traitorous filth like Quan Chi. Bitch will turn coat on anyone just to save her sorry ass.

Rain

My biggest gripe with Rain is that he derived from a Prince joke. I will never be able to take him seriously. Add that with his power hungry attitude and you have a lame character. Then he betrayed his own kind and kissed Shao Kahn's ass. What a pansy.

10. Kobra
While his story in his bio started off well, it just ended up being the played-out "I love to kill because it's fun!" concept. He also seems way to basic and modern for a Mortal Kombat game.

9. Reiko
He's just lonely and pathetic general who desperately wants to fuck Shao Kahn. That's how I see it anyway. lol It just bothers me that Reiko would secretly wear Shao Kahn's helmet. Talk about obsessed...

8. Hsu Hao
The guy looks boring, has an irritating story, and his position as betrayer of the Special Forces could very well be replaced by any existing character (and it has). I'd much rather he just not return to Mortal kombat.

7. Skarlet
I don't dislike her, I just don't care for her much right now. Still, it's nice to finally see her actualized.

6. Blaze
Blaze is my least favorite boss of the entire series. He just seems so lame and boring to me. I also didn't care for him in Deadly Alliance, either.

5. Hotaru
While he has importance in the story of Mortal Kombat, he sucks as a playable character, to me at least. I think he should just be a primary figure in story modes.

4. Daegon
I still would have rather Mavado been the founder of the Red Dragon, as well as the leader. Having Daegon come in and mess up my view of Mavado rubbed me the wrong way, and seeing Mavado take orders from Daegon in the Armageddon story mode made me even more upset. Screw you, Daegon. Screw you.

3. Taven
He's a self-righteous, self-indulgent, pompous smart-ass. How in the hell did he become a hero of Mortal Kombat? I hope he dies in the opening of the next game.

2. Frost
Initially I liked her, because I liked the idea of there being a female Sub-Zero. I was also 11 years old. As I got older, I realized Frost was nothing more than a female Sub-Zero, and that it was one of the dumbest things NRs (or then Midway) had every come up with.

1. Scorpion
The irritating bastard has not changed in 20 years. He needs to learn how to lay flowers at a grave and move the fuck on. As Nightwolf so very well stated, Scorpion's not the only person whose people have been victimized. I think it would be much better if Scorpion lived for his family and clan, and not because of them.

I can't rank them but I'll lump them together by relevance:

Developer "inside joke/secret characters":
- Mokap
- Blaze
- Chameleon/Khameleon
- Meat

Reasoning - I love a good easter egg/fan service character when it's done well (Skarlet, Smoke, Reptile, Ermac, Noob Saibot, Rain) but the vast majority in this group range from clever idea on paper to "what the fuck were you thinking Ed Boon?" Biggest offender for me is trying to make Blaze relevant and tying the main plot of several games to this weak ass generic character.

Orderrealm/Chaosrealm:
- Dairou
- Darrius
- Hotaru
- Havik

Reasoning - Admittedly I don't think Orderrealm/Chaosrealm as a whole is a terrible idea it's just that the characters that populate that side-plot were pretty two-dimensional. Not entirely beyond redemption if given more significant binds to overarching main plot points. As it played out in MK: Deception though they felt pretty superfluous. Aesthetics/Gameplay range from lame (Darrius), unremarkable (Dairou), and "close but not close enough" (Hotaru/Havik).

Netherrealm demons/monsters:
- Drahmin
- Moloch

Reasoning - So I'm actually for some more "team Netherrealm" type of characters but I just never could get into Drahmin's aesthetics and Moloch was a pretty bland troll monster. I'm not sure how to fix these guys aside from axing Moloch entirely and completely redesigning Drahmin. Perhaps combining the two?

Red/Black Dragon:
- Jarek
- Kira
- Kobra

Reasoning - Reasonable ideas just executed terribly. The Dragon clan plot got all sorts of fucked up and it relegated the majority of it's members to bland c-listers. Kobra is an abomination and doesn't need to come back whereas Kira and Jarek could possibly be redeemed.

It's funny that you say this, because their treacherous nature is one of the reasons I love them so much.

Due to the fact that they can betray anyone, at any given moment, means that they are capable of just about anything. For me, it is a joy to see what they do next.

Ermac, because i feel the Boon and co. have been trying way too hard to make him a cool character, badass, etc. yet his storyline reamains irrelevant and boring, imo. His moves are ok though, even when a couple of them are taken from Kenshi, yet the Ermac fans have the nerve to call Kenshi a rip off.

Kitana, her storyline has been static since MK3 and i never got the hype for her design, gameplay, etc. She's beyond boring.

Baraka and Sheeva are generic villains in my opinion and their storyline are boring. A big plus for their looks though, they're iconic.

Mokap, Hsu Hao, Drahmin, Sareena, Skarlet. I did like the newer games and most of the characters, but these i never found interesting or with the exception of Skarlet, good when it comes to gameplay.
