Li Mei in MK9

Forgive me if there is already a Li Mei thread, I searched but couldn't find one.

So I'm probably in the minority here, but Li Mei is my most favorite character in the MK:DA - MK:A era. That said I hope she will eventually become DLC for MK9. I don't expect to see her anytime soon, since I see that there's alot of Frost fans, she'll probably get a release first. How many of you would like to see Li Mei in MK9? Just as a fun character if anything.

Here's what I imagine for a MK9 Li Mei. I was really tempted to give her a more revealing look, but thought it would be interesting if she looked more serious. So she looks more ninja-like now I guess. I gave her short hair and a sword as a weapon.

I like Li Mei as well (pure gameplay wise). I used her in MKA quite a lot actually. She does seem more serious like this, kudos to you.

But she doesn't belong in this MK era, don't wanna see her either.

I think DLC characters are just for gameplay and will not take part in the story. So it doesn’t really matter if they belong in that era or not. The more characters they add , the better. That’s how I see it. But Li Mei is not on the top of my DLC list. Nice concept though.

I don't think Li Mei was that bland. At least not gameplay wise. Like I said, she could just be for the fun of it, like Kratos, she doesn't have to be involved in the story at all.

i like li mei, but she and anyone else from post mk3 shouldn't be in this game, they can all be in the next mk game, if they continue from this new story line.

that said, the two characters announced for dlc, i.e. skarlett and kenshi, BOTH have parts to play in this era. i know that could just be a coincidence, but still...

I'd be all for Li Mei appearing as a non canon extra character since she is my favorite character. It's probably more realistic to accept she will probably be in the next game or so.

I love that artwork! Much better than the real boring Li Mei, but NO, I don't want Li Mei in because it wouldn't make sense to me, but she's also from outworld so she's maybe not so young as people think she is.

I'd love to see her back. Design wise she's egh, but gameplay wise she was fun even in those horrible last gen games, so she'd definitely be a blast in this new superior engine.

As for story and the time line not making sense ...who cares?

Unique roster pick>>>>>>>>>>>>>>story continuity.

When r ppl gonna realise that it doesnt matter how kharacters played in other games. This game is COMPLETELY different and can make all kharacters fun to play. Li Mei would be an awesome addition

looks like she's in the middle of sneaking around Outworld.
I wouldn't be against Li Mei, what I'm hoping for is established characters over ones that don't exist.

Personally im no fan of Li mei (nor frost) but if she was presented kind of like this, I may have incentive to play as her.

Li Mei is by far my favorite character post-MK3. Decent design plus an amazing story set her apart from... well, everyone.

If we got one DLC entry who doesn't take part in the story, Li Mei is my first choice.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad there's SOME people who would like to see her again. :)

I agree big time that there is hardly any female characters in the game and it would be nice to add in a few more. Li Mei would be a great addition, especially since this is a retelling of the MK storyline, so it's not like she has to be strictly forbidden from this game.

The thing is with never really used anybody post mk2 except sektor, cyrax and the rest of the cyborgs. I also liked jade. About reptile I liked him in mk2 but after that stopped liking him. My Mains since mk2 kitana and subzero haven't to date. It's going take one heck of a character to that

Li Mei is one of my fave post MK4 characters.
I would love to see her again looking much like she does in the picture in the first post.
I don't really like the armor thing. After Tanya she would probs be my next choice for DLC.
Li Mei is one of my favorite fighters from the new generation.


She also kinda reminds me of Juri from Street Fighter

Its just a custom that fighting games have a chinese female martial artist, we have:

Ling Xiaoyu - Tekken
Chun Li - Street Fighter
Pai Chan - Virtua Fighter
Lei Fang - Dead Or Alive
Xianghua - Soul Calibur

Mortal Kombat gets Li Mei. For me Li Mei is one of my favourite post MK4 characters along with Kenshi and i find her quite underrated by the MK community, shes kinda popular but shes not on Kitana or Mileena's level on the popularity scale yet.

She has so much potential compared to the other post MK4 characters.
