I too look forward to Shinnok. He was given a somewut unique style with his return in MKA. But New MK will mark the birth of his actual fighting style and specials. Though I did love his specials in MKA.

I don't get what people don't understand about the fact that since MK (2011) was a reboot of the series..... according to the new timeline, the events of the original MK4 haven't happened yet so forget whoever was in MK4 because it doesn't matter at all.

If Shinnoks hand makes a return in MKX. Hes gonna be insane. I have loved him since MK4. Can't wait.

Its kind of ambiguous if Lui Kang is dead or not.

Personally I see potential for him to become a very interesting villian, I wouldnt be suprised if he and Shang Tsung kind of switch places.

as for MK4 onwards I think There going to keep fan favourites (Shinnok, Reiko, Kenshi, Havik etc) and get just ignore Hsu Hao and all the other crap.

Don't post vague thread titles, it's really annoying. I'm going to have to edit it, and because I have no clue what you're even talking about, I imagine it'll be fairly inaccurate.

Either he's not really dead, he'll be resurrected somehow or there will be a new protagonist for MK4.

Since the events are altered in MK4 Liu Kang doesn't NEED to come back because it's a new story. Sure, the basic plot for MK4 is the same, but the events are allowed to play out differently because Raiden made so many changes to the continuity.

Personally, I think Liu Kang could have survived the end of Mortal Kombat and they just made it look like he died for dramatic effect. He could have just been knocked out or gone into a coma. If it's confirmed in the next game that he died, I guess I'll just have to accept it. But for now he's an easy character to "Write back to life".

I actually never really liked the idea of Liu Kang beating Shinnok, even though Liu's my favorite character. I just like the idea of Raiden, a god beating Shinnok, another god. I'd rather see Liu Kang kill Raiden because Raiden is a sucky protagonist. As for the one who beats Shinnok, Fujin's a possibility. Everyone seems to like him, right?

So, in short, my opinion is:

Liu Kang- still alive, but he's not the one to beat Shinnok.

Raiden- Dies.

Fujin- He is the one to defeat Shinnok.

I don't know, I think Liu Kang is definitely dead.

I mean why would he say "You have killed us all." Us implies he is with the others or going to be with the others. Otherwise he would say you have killed them all.

I think what could happen is that Raiden's new team, whoever that may be, will fight the old warriors and one by one the old warriors will fall. When Raiden reaches Quan Chi and thinks he has won the battle. Quan Chi will step in and reveal his greatest fighter, Liu Kang. Liu will then beat Raiden and his new team, and Raiden will have to look back and regret everything he has done because he won the battle but not the war.

Fujin will then step in and take leadership of Earthrealm because Raiden is ultimately defeated along with the warriors. This leaves Fujin to take Drastic measures and maybe he goes to outworld and chaosrealm to find help elsewhere. I could also see Kai being Fujin's Liu Kang. Fujin will possibly even have spies in Netherrealm such as Sareena and maybe even Scorpion.

Sonya and Johnny Cage will lose hope in Raiden as well after they lose to Quan Chi.

This will all ultimately culminate in Raiden turning into Dark Raiden. Possibly even making Raiden the boss of MK11.

Just some ideas off the top of my head though.

Raiden- "We must tend to the fallen."

He then immediately teleports away with Liu Kang's body. I'm wagering he's dead. I do hope more is done with him post mortem than just becoming a mindless slave like the rest. His arcade ending I think is a step in the right direction. I'm hoping the elder gods somehow saved his soul, and he starts making his case for protector of earth.

With Raiden and Liu Kang(and possibly Fujin) making their case as protector, this would leave earthrealm in total disarray and very vulnerable to Shinnok's invasion.

Holy crap I just though about something else.

"We must tend to the fallen." What if by that he pulls zombie kang on a mass scale?

Quan Chi has the souls and Raiden uses their bodies to fight them off? It would make Raiden as much of a monster as Quan Chi. Perhaps the Elder gods see that and ressurect the fallen deeming that they can't be used as slaves to another, and must form their own paths.

The elder gods then ressurect the fallen in their natural forms since Raiden has desecrated their old bodies.

I'm not sure whether Liu Kang is dead or not. But I will say I hope he is dead. Then Kai could have his time to shine. But I'm sure they will bring back Liu somehow if he isn't already dead.

As for Shinnok, I also look forward to playing as him again. I loved his fatalities in MK4 and he had some pretty unique special moves in MKA. So I'm curious to see how they will integrate his special moves into gameplay.

Where's the evidence that he's not dead at?

Granted, I haven't played Story since the game came out, but I distinctly remember him saying "You have killed us all" before shutting his eyes for the big sleep. He seemed just as dead as Kitana. What, was he breathing in the background afterward or something?

He was super dead. The deadest.

"We must tend to the fallen" is a phrase which means bury our dead.

Also, the models' chests do move when they breathe like they're supposed to...and the whole end scene, the camera is pointed right at Liu who's clearly quite still.

I for one believe Liu Kang isn't dead but in a coma.

I wish Liu Kang can leave the champion title (maybe) and earthrealm protection to someone else. I wanna see Liu Kang make his choice to be the new king of Edenia this time with Kitana.

Hope Liu Kang can forgive Raiden once the thunder god sacrifices himself and dies for all the mistakes he made.

The comatose still have that thing where their chest does the rising and falling thing. You know the thing. What's the word for it? Oh yeah, "breathing".

It's probable that Liu Kang's dead, if you look at the facts given. Still, NeRdS are known for surprises and this wouldn't be the first time Liu Kang respawns in a way or another. He's almost as important as Raiden, Sub-Zero and Scorpion - there's a fair chance he'll be playable (zombie?).

I'm willing to bet Liu Kang is alive. He'll turn into somewhat of an anti hero who blames Raiden for all the horrible crap that has happened on Earth. And I don't think just because Raiden says "We must tend to the fallen" proves he died. It proves Raiden thinks he's dead but I'm willing to bet NRS purposely left it ambiguous so they could decide on what they wanted to do with Liu in MK10.

And you have to think of it like a writer. Liu Kang turning to the dark side is too good of a plot point to pass up on.

I want to see a Liu Kang like the one in his arcade mode ending, you know where he turns into a god? Now THAT I think would kick ass. But I still want him and Kitana to become an official item. And you know turning Liu into a god would be a logical way to resurrect him. What if Raiden, Fujin or The Elder Gods decided that Earthrealm needs a Liu Kang? At any rate it makes little difference and you hardcore MKers oughta know that NOBODY ever stays dead in Mortal Kombat. Shao Khan came back(multiple times) Cage died once or twice right?Technically Liu Kang died as well and was brought back...albeit as a zombie, but still he was a part of Deception and Armageddon. I don't know if Noob counts because even though he was Sub-Zero klassic, he's now another character entirely. But you know what I mean. Armageddon was full of characters that were supposed to be dead, and MK9s story takes you back in time FROM the Armageddon story which by the by Shao Khan won apparently even though he was supposed to have been dead since MK3.

I agree that Liu & Kitana should be official somehow. I want him to be king of Edenia in the end. Somebody pass the torch.

I suppose at this point if Liu were to pass the torch as it were the only two logical choices would be Kung Lao, and Kai. Kind of like Bruce Wayne with Dick Grayson, and Tim Drake.

Unless there was a NEW Shaolin warrior that we never met before, because even if Liu and Kitana had a child depending on how it would age it might be a few thousand years before it would be old enough to fight. See I don't know if Kitana's 10,000 years old because the time flow is different for Edenia/Outworld , if it's magical, or if it's a natural thing for her people( somebody get the number of her beautician for me please).I mean besides the apparent immortality Kitana, Jade, and Sindel LOOK human enough, and so does Bo Rai Cho for that matter.What I mean is how long would it take for the child to age? Would it depend on WHERE it was raised, or who it's parents are. If somebody wants to clarify the age thing in relation to Outworlders, and Edenians I'm all ears.

Perhaps MK could reveal a teen prodigy that Raiden or Fujin had waiting in the wings to success Liu eventually( which would probably piss Kung Lao off like nobody's business considering he always seems to take a backseat to Liu)...and now is the time.Maybe one of the young kids from Shujinko's Konquest mode or something.

Can't there be a tibetan monk too?

If Liu & Kitana became an official couple and had a son after Shinnok's defeat. That oughta give us a thrill.

I would like for Liu's kid to travel through different realms to meet all warriors new and old. He could even stop Shujinko from completing all the kamidogu for Onaga.

Maybe the kid can be somehow related to a battle that will decide the fate of the realms. Maybe he'll fight the One Being. Of course he, Raiden or Fujin will be the only ones fighting in the final battle.
