Skarlet would have had her own arena!? As Skarlet's #1 fan on MKO I can honestly say that's would have fucking epic to see, damn NetherRealm. Even Freddy's arena would be sick too.

Both Skarlet and Freddy's arenas are actually very plausible since A) the Kollector's Edition art book hinted about an arena down the rivers of Pit Bottom i.e. Skarlet's arena and B) the co-star, Kratos, too got his own theme arena and Freddy's arena could be used in the Xbox 360 as well.
People need to remember that a lot of the things about Mortal Kombat 10 remain tentative and are due to change when it's still in early stages.

I've always hoped that MK10 would be released on next Gen consoles, this gen really needs to end. Every game is looking & playing the same.
I would love MK10 to be a launch title to show off next gen capabilities.

Motaro's original larger involvement in the game (maybe as a playable) was already revealed by Ed Boon in one the first interviews after the game's release.

The possibility of a Stage Fatality involving gears in the Bell Tower is already hinted in the Challenge Tower.

Dom Cianciolo already told in his twitter that a bigger back story was supposed for Cage, Baraka and Mileena (NOT Melina)

Ed Boon, during the developing of MK Deception or Armageddon, already told us that he follows the forums and fan sites.

We still don't know when the next generation of consoles will be revealed, yet to be released on the market. The most optimistic news indicate that E3 of 2013 will be the huge revealing show, while the commercialization might take from 6 months up to 12 months (like PS3 or Xbox 360). Consider that Ed Boon will need at least two full years to develop the tenth MK game, this means that by 2015 MK could still be on THIS generation of consoles. Unlikely, but not impossible.

MK carved his spot in Evo and many other tournaments due to his classic gameplay, I don't see Ed Boon coming back to the FULL 3D gameplay experience.

Unreal Engine 3.8 is still a great source for quality graphics in video gaming, UE4 will need at least 12/18 months to be released and the double of time to have all its secrets spoiled by developers.

The Stage Fatality you described for the unreleased Freddy's stage is very similar to his primary Fatalities involving the furnace. Skarlet was never supposed to have a personal stage and the blood fountain theme is used already in the Pit bottom arena, which was used as promotional background for Skarlet on the official site.

In reality PS Vita has no exclusive costume, but just a bunch of palette swapped models with less polygons, based on the ones already released on xbox360 and PS3. And there was just one agreement between WB and SONY and that was about Kratos and his stage, taken out from the Vita version for unknown reasons. I can't name any other exclusive in favor of Sony, if not 3D maybe.

What I find hilariously ironic about this is that Microsoft has been doing the exact same thing for years. Just look at Oblivion and all the dlc's that aren't Knights of the Nine or Shivering Isles which only got released on Xbox 360 and PC I think, and how PS3 never got ANY of the Dead Rising 2 story dlc's like Case Zero and Case West. Compared to Microsoft, this is minor on Sony's part.

So MK10 could possibly cover 4-6. I kind of expected that but I was also hoping they would just focus on 4 for the next one.

I figured they would be doing some brainstorming for the next one. If its true that some developers are already getting PS4 dev kits I wouldn't be surprised if they start some physical work on it after Injustice launches [Assuming NRS was one of the studios that got a Dev kit]

Considering the MKTeam has built a legacy of secrecy, I can't imagine anyone from it disclosing any kind of information so freely.

I wouldn't know, i'm not into the Oblivion series at all. my comment was perhaps hasty but it's based soley on the MK series. I had to import MKD from the states just to get the extra characters on the GC version, where the only console i had at the time was the GC.

Hector Sanchez sez that they started on MK9 as soon as MKDC went gold and development time took two years and some change. As of October 2012, they hadn't started MK10 yet, so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't released till 2016.

Nothing official announced on MK10 yet. Actually, the game doesn't even exist.

Not officially, but the unfortunate truth is that Ed Boon is more interested in creating a high-caliber player experience than a viable tournament fighter. Not that there's anything wrong with that, and I'm confident that he'll never turn his back on the tournament players. At the same time, the wants of the tournament players will never take priority over the needs of the casual gamer. Boon said in an interview that many of the developers wanted to add deeper fighting mechanics but he shot them down in the name of accessibility. I think that was a good move to be honest with ya. MK9's simplicity is what makes its meta-game so interesting.

BADASS6669, I'm not saying that the person you encountered was a fraud, but the guy is making statements about a game that's not even in development yet. If MK10 really does center around Shinnok and Onaga, having a 3D engine makes sense: it's based on the 3D MK installments. However, I'd weigh all of this with a grain of salt.

Truth is that as long as the next game has Li Mei, MK10 can run on the same engine as Paper Mario for all I care.

This thread got me thinking about the timeline and how Raiden went back to change things. And one question just burns with me....how come he never tried to stop Onaga's Holy Men from capturing Blaze?

If I remember correctly, being forced to serve them caused irregularities with the plans for Taven and Daegon. If he was just left alone to wander the realms, the egg would never have been protected and would likely have never been around long enough to stumble upon Reptile. He could have completely prevented Onaga's rule had he just taken the time to stop it. Although, he never had a vision about that so I'd say he just didn't know any better.

Anyway, back on topic. I doubt this person was in any way important, they probably haven't even started thinking about MK10 yet. Sounds like a fan who had been keeping an eye on Boon's updates and forums that was just twisting your leg there.

I heard a GameStop employee talking about DLC on the PS3. The reason those weren't released is not due to company exclusion, but technical issues caused on the PS3 that the developing company did not care to resolve.
