Feels like a mistake, releasing so soon after MvC3.

I'd never compare the competition with CAPCOM, lol. They can make 100 fighting games regardless how good they are, yet rarely never compare to Mortal Kombat. I mean Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken X Street Fighter, plus all the Marvel games: new Pinball, new movie games/per movie, Spider-Man's new game, X-Men: Destiny, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Marvel Super Heroes Squads, and now a possible Marvel Super Heroes 2 and Super Marvel vs Capcom 3 already in the talks OMG why wait on a release date compared to them lol, they're always putting new games out per special holiday, lol soon to be an everyday thing. As much as I'm anticipating MvsC3, I'm way way way more hyped about MK9 (2011), I mean look at what kind of characters have been released for MvsC3 (She-Hulk, X-23, MODOK, Dormammu, yet cant come up with ideas for 2 of the BEST, Silver Surfer/Ghost Rider shame on MARVEL and CAPCOM lol), they're like usual throwing anything in they possibly can to make an extra buck, yet not listening to the actual public. Anotherwards, the MK team is taking way more time/focus on this ONE game and pleasing all in the process, my hats off 2 them!!!

Gamestop is notorious for posting rumored release dates in my experience, and they hardly ever have the correct date in their database.

March 2nd sounds a little ambitious, but I guess you can't complain if they live up to their fawning testimony for Warner Brothers' resources and willingness to let them finish the game. He said with a slightly accusing tone.

I usually see that the release date is March 1st but I did see one that said the 31st of December. I think 3/1 is the right one but I hope not

First off, some of those games aren't even coming till next year at the earliest. Second, some of the games you mentioned haven't even been confirmed to be in production. Third, half those games are from a different genre and wouldn't be competing with the same consumer demographic as MK anyway. A lot of them certainly haven't been nearly as hyped as MvsC3.




For the most part, this isn't true at all. Christian Svensson and Seth Killian tear ass trying to get the fans heard, and although Boon's Tweets are refreshing, it doesn't compare to Capcom's reps actually going to the Capcom unity boards and consistently giving feedback to fan questions. Though the MvsC3 cast is a little suspect, you have to understand that Marvel had a huge hand in the selections. Also, they gotta take gameplay diversity in mind. You can't have 40 rushdown characters. I'm not saying all the character choices are defensible, but no one can say they disregarded the fans. The SSF4 choices, on the other hand, were incredibly researched. Rolento was actually going to be in the SSF4 build; Adon made it in over him purely because of fan research.

Don't believe ANYTHING regarding releases yet. Nothing has been finalized at all. And even if they were finalized, they might be pushed back.

Chances of this game getting pushed back is likely. I was told by a Gamestop employee that it's going to be pushed back.

Ya as much as i would love it to come out March 2nd iduno just seems to good to be true. and usually games come out on Tuesdays not Wednesday's in North America (maybe elsewhere too iduno) so March 1st would make sence but again who knows nothing is "finalized"

I was at the eurogamer expo in london and mk wasnt present but the warner reps where and they said the game was about 85% finished the trailers running on the big screen looked amazing.
Watching footage online doesn't do the games graphics justice I would say march-april release is a very good bet. The only reason to push the game back is to avoid marvel vs capcom 3 which Ive played and its brilliant.

There is NO WAY They are going to release this that close to MVC3.

When will people realize this... Stores put in a basic TEMPORARY date when they don't know the actual release date, just so they can have the game in their system for pre-order. All they know is MK 2011 comes out in the spring so they just put in March 02 temporarily. MK 2011 will most likely be coming out in April, not March. Unlike the other MK's, they're going to try and work on this new MK for as long as they possibly can.

The real release date will be revealed by Warner Bros. not Gamestop, not Best Buy, not Walmart. Stop treating stores computer systems as gospel.

I have a strong feeling that the game will be released late February or early March, in order to compete with other fighting games since the MK team seems already done with lots of stuff. Fingers crossed.

I don't buy it at all. Still expecting an April release.
