VERY good post. Well written, funny, objective, and at the same time, not condemning to anyone else. We need more of these.

I'm ok with Freddy being in it.. I mean these are extra characters... it's not cannon, you don't have to buy them (though I don't know why you wouldn't at least want to try them) but it's just more content. If the demand is there, we may get more MK characters... and if we don't, we will when we get another MK game.

I kind of like this idea. I mean, Kratos came from another game and everything, but he comes from a game that is set on Earth's Mythology. I think that's kind of cool in a way that even though it isn't a true version of earth's history, it is one that a lot of us are familiar with, and it's kind of cool that he was snatched in from the past (I honestly don't remember exactly how it happened).

Same with Freddy (and hopefully Jason, because... I actually kinda wanted him anyway, but only because I'm obsessed with him as a horror character). I mean, these are guys that, sure are fictional, but so is MK. If Raiden or Shang Tsung were able to draw on these heros or villains as if they were real (and I don't mean pulling Earths fictional characters into reality), but assume that they are just lesser evils that have been tormenting Earth before Shao Khan showed up... I mean... obviously you'd try and get them to help... they are super human. I mean, do you want Jason Voorhees, or Kurtis Stryker? Stryker is awesome and everything... But Jason killed a lot of cops... a LOT of cops... I'm just saying.

I don't think they should be added into canon or anything, but I think it's fun, and I think it can be done right. I also think that characters like Kratos, Freddy, and Jason actually fit rather well as far as.... darkness, and character design go.

I'll be giving it chance knowing that I don't expect to see them in the next game, and at the end of the day, it's just to have a little fun.
