There are many people posting predictions, so I thought I would post what, in my opinion, is a logical prediction. (No, I am not demeaning anyone's opinions, nor am I stating that anyone else is wrong or that I am right.) (Also, I did not "choose" any of these because I like them more than anyone else, I actually did use reasonable deduction and logical thinking, so if you want to know how/why I chose who I did, just ask.)

Predictions for playable Kombantants.
Baraka
Cyrax*
Goro
Jax
Johnny Cage (confirmed)
Kabal
Kano
Kitana
Kung Lao (confirmed)
Liu Kang
Mileena (confirmed)
Noob**
Nightwolf (confirmed)
Raiden (confirmed)
Reptile (confirmed)
Scorpion (confirmed)
Sektor* (confirmed)
Shang Tsung (confirmed)
Shao Kahn
Sheeva
Sindel
Smoke*
Sonya
Stryker
Sub-Zero**/*** (confirmed as the original Sub-Zero)
*I believe the cybernetic ninjas will/should have an alternate (if not as their primary) costume of them before they were transformed from human Lin Kuei to cyborgs.
**Although I highly doubt that they will have both Sub-Zero (the original Sub-Zero) and Noob as two playable characters, I still put Noob in my list. They may do something with giving Sub-Zero an alternate costume of Noob, since in the first game there weren't any different fighting styles, that option may be viable.
***I also doubt, although it also could be a possibility, that they will have two Sub-Zeros in one game (the original that is already confirmed and his younger brother). Although both the Noob as a playable character and having two Sub-Zeros as playable characters seems unlikely, as I've explained. I have a feeling since they are aiming for 26 characters, either one or the other will be true (based upon my prediction list.)

I would bet my house that Noob is a playable character.

My prediction is that if your playing Sub's story mode he gets killed halfway through it and you start playing as the younger SZ, who plays exactly the same

My predictions:

1. Cyrax
2. Ermac
3. Jade
4. Jax
5. Johnny Cage (confirmed)
6. Kabal
7. Kano
8. Kitana *
9. Kung Lao (confirmed)
10. Mileena (confirmed)
11. Nightwolf (confirmed)
12. Quan Chi **
13. Raiden (confirmed) ***
14. Reptile (confirmed)
15. Scorpion (confirmed)
16. Sektor (confirmed)
17. Shang Tsung (confirmed) ***
18. Sheeva
19. Sindel
20. Smoke
21. Sonya *
22. Sub-Zero I (confirmed)
23. New Male Kombatant #1 ****
24. New Female Kombatant #1 ****
25. New Male Kombatant #2 ****
26. New Female Kombatant #2 ****
27. Goro *****
28. Shao Kahn *****

* Sonya and Kitana have been all but confirmed, considering Sonya's voice actress and Kitana's motion capturer have already been attached to the game.

** I believe that Quan Chi will be the only post-MK3 character to find his way into the new game, because of his obvious importance to the storyline.

*** Raiden and Shang Tsung have been confirmed according to Ig.com

**** I believe there will be some new kombatants, albeit few. It's not like the MK Team to include no new kharacters.

***** I believe that Shao Kahn and Goro will be the boss and sub-boss, respectively, and will be unplayable.

I also do not believe that Sub-Zero II, Liu Kang, or Baraka will be in the game. I think that Sub-Zero II would become redundant next to his brother. I think that Liu Kang will already be dead. And I believe (read: hope) that they'll be giving Baraka a break.

Like I said, I didn't pick any of them because I prefer them over other characters. In fact, Ermac is one of my favorite characters, I just don't see him being playable, or at least not as part of the 26 Kombatant roster. He may be a secret character or a downloadable character, but not as one of the 26.

This is solely based on the fact that Ermac didn't make a debut until Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, which was released after Mortal Kombat 1-3. Also, Ultimate MK3, in my opinion, is a supplement game, such as MK Trilogy, MK Gold, MK Advanced, MK Tournament Edition, MK Unchained, and Ultimate MK.

Again, this opinion isn't because I don't like Ermac, but rather than thinking from a fans standpoint, I'm trying to think from the Mortal Kombat Team's standpoint.

Stryker was a playable character in Mortal Kombat 3
