You mean the very same torrent sites which upload pirated and bootlegged material that disregard intellectual property laws? Those torrent sites?

JTAG is an program that allows manipulation of the 360s hardware capabilites; like playing homebrew / backed up game (even striahgt from you HDD), using unsigned programs, game emulators and even pirated games. To install this you need to 'flash' your 360s drive for reading of non official data.

This, in itself, is not illegal; only the procurement / dissemination of copied official software is. Playing online with a modded 360 (if detected -- it can be avoided) does give M$ the right to ban your user account according to the EULA you agree to to play online.

Given the disappointing lack of versatility modern consoles afford gamers -- what, with all the firmware blocking anything but company-approved applications, usually limited to simply playing rubbishy games, with even cheat devices rendered void -- hacking / modding of consoles is a key feature that all smart gamers who want full functionailty of their consoles and, indeed, games THEY PAY FOR should consider.

At least in future, as you're likely locked out from taking advantage of these applications now if you've been unaware of their existence and have the latest firmware / dashboard versions (which circumvent current available methods).

What difference does it makes, however, if posting links for hacks is legal or not, if the more-than-great majority of you can't use said hacks in the first place?

To begin with, in order to use said hacks, you need a JTAG'd 360, and I'm positive that 99,9999% of the members in this board don't even know what a JTAG console is, let alone having one. And any of you owning a DevBox is so absurd that it is out-of-question, so you are all on safe waters and don't even need to worry about the hack, whether links for it have been posted or not.

JTAGs (and DevBoxes, for that matter) are only owned --most of the time-- by people who knows what they are doing, and, if they ever wanted to hack the game in the first place, they would do so. Links being in this board or not.

Okay. First of, JTAG is not a program. In a nutshell, the JTAG It is a moddification in the hardware, that allows you --if you have an exploitable cb and kernel-- to moddify the consoles NAND in order to allow run of unsigned code. Sounds complicated? The actuall proccess is even worse. Filtering it down only for people who knows what they are doing .It can't simply be done on any 360; only old ones can be exploitable, filtering the list even further.

A JTAGged 360 is, in few words, a poor man's DevKit.

Ha! I knew it was a matter of time we will see NPC characters playable. I honestly thought the Playstation 3 would pull this off, never knew the Xbox 360 can character hack, regardless, I saw this coming.

And to the person saying that there shouldn't be any links to the hack.

This is really no different than supplying codes to insert to Action Replays that let's you play as characters you can't play, in which you can find tons of that in the 2000- Mortal Kombat games, there's a thread of it.

These hacks are not hurting anybody at all.

The MK Team already knew people will hack their game no matter what, this is nothing new, people have been hacking their games since the old-school 2D days. Ed Boon even said it himself during the development of MK3. That they purposely add bullshit to the data just to fuck with hackers.
If one was aware of hackers doing this, why the fuck make fully functional characters then?

If I made a video game, and hackers made NPC's playable, I wouldn't care. This is not going to hurt me financially. It's too late for me to be money hungry and make consumers buy them after I said I won't make people pay for content already on disc. If anything, I would be amazed that people pulled this off.

If NRS choose not to make some characters legitimately playable, then OH WELL, that's not gonna stop hackers from having their FUN. In the end, this is probably biting them in the ass.

Could the smart lot of you, who actually have access to the hack, join ourselves in order to create a compedium of all the Finishing Moves for the character with Finishing Moves?

For example, I know Kintaro's and Goro's Fatalities from the Fatality Trainer, and that's it.

I found out Goro's Babality, also:
down, down, down, down, B.

Funny, because Goro's first Fatality combination is:
up, up, up, up, X.

How can you tell if your 360 is able to play hacked ??? I was able to use DBX mods, Does that count or ??
