New player asking for advice!

Hi,

With the recent announcement of MK X and the fact that there won't be a new Tekken for a while, i decided to get MK 9 on steam sales to start getting ready for it. I see myself way above avarage on Tekken 6/Tag 2 but i have been craving for a new fighting game on my ps4 so here i am getting ready for MK X.

I'm not a tier whore, no matter how bad or good they are i play characters i like the look of and their fighting style. Only character that catches my eye atm is Kung Lao, however i'm having a hard time learning him.

I tried some of his combo's but they require such good timing and movement i just cant them to work... Then i looked at some Sub-Zero combo's online and i found it funny how they are WAY easier to execute compared to Kung Lao lol.
But i am dead set on learning Kung Lao and thats how i found this forum.

I would love to play you on steam, but I could never get MK9 to run properly on my computer (it's slow to the point of being unplayable).

Kung Lao is one of those few characters I never even touched since playing the game. The only advice I can give you is use whiffed dive-kick to close in space. Kung Lao shuts down space like none other. You can't play a traditional footsie game against him.

If you need tips regarding almost any other character, I'd be more than glad to throw out some info. Let me know if you ever wanna play on 360.

Thanks for the replies, I know the execution for the combo's but they are so hard to pull off lol... it's so unfair cuz raiden and sub-zero combo's are epic easy for the same damage :S
