Noob Saibot can still be in MK9

I said because of the things he did in Mythologies, it's not in Mythologies. It's in Deception.
If you remember Mythologies, there's a scene where Quan Chi confronts him and tells him basically "only evil people can exist in the Netherealm, so if Raiden sent you, this is where you belong, this is where you'll go when you die. Why not join me now and save some time?" And Sub refuses and fights him and Shinnok.
After that, we know Quan and Shinnok considered Sub (and later his brother in MK4) a major enemy with the power to thwart their future plans.
It's also been basically established that Quan Chi and Shinnok are actually the ones who gave Scorpion his spectre powers and let him go to the MK1 tournament. Because they wanted Sub-Zero to die as much as Scorp did.
Then Noob's Deception bio tells us that he was a slave, he had to serve his masters, but because those masters were gone now (Quan had just been killed by Raiden's suicide), he was free to do what he wanted for once.
So if Quan/Shinnok hated Sub-Zero and had a hand in his death, and Quan/Shinnok had control of Noob's mind, and Quan/Shinnok are the ones who created Scorpion and have the power to turn dead people into undead people, it's simple connect-the-dots to figure out that Quan/Shinnok are responsible for turning Sub-Zero into Noob Saibot.
We're also told in Ashrah's ending, Noob's ending, and from Sub to Taven in Armageddon that Noob CHOOSES a life of evil. He's not under anyone's influence anymore, there's no evil spirit inside him, he IS the evil spirit. His spirit is evil.
There's also a line in Shaolin Monks where Younger Sub tells us Noob is, and I quote, "possessed by one of the Elder Gods", meaning Shinnok. But I'm not sure how worth counting that is, because Shaolin Monks isn't canon and "possessed" was a poor word choice because it's not like Shinnok literally lives in Noob's body.

^ forgot about MKII, my bad.
Where exactly is it implied that he was captured by Shinnok and Quan Chi and turned into a slave? I looked up the ending of Mythologies and it doesnt mention it

were was mentioned or imply that Shinnok and/or Quan Chi was the one that turned Scorpion in to a specter?

It was hinted at in Mythologies and MK4 that both Scorp's death and rebirth was all just Quan Chi manipulating him like a pawn to use him as a weapon against Sub-Zero, but the first time it was actually written out loud that Quan Chi is the one who resurrected him is Scorp's MKvsDC bio...which complicates the argument a little since MKvsDC isn't canon...but it did make an effort to stay true to summed up, simplified versions of the character's backgrounds, (with the singular exception of the Kahn and Raiden being brothers like in the movies thing...and even that is a little true from a certain perspective...) so the information has to be taken seriously since it just confirms in plain language something that the canon games were already vaguely suggesting.
Personally, I was always put off by the idea that Noob was actually Sub's older brother. It took all the flair and mystery out of him, and just proved once again that the MK team can't handle killing a character off.
Like I said, there's a tiny chance the MK team will include Noob if there's both Older and Younger Subzero in the game (unless he's DLC, which is a good idea), but if they do do it, expect his story to be screwed up.
UNLESS, the only other possibility is that they have older Sub turn into Noob during the story-mode, in which case they can still have both in the roster at the same time, just not actually be different characters. Kind of like how in Trilogy you have both humna AND cyborg smoke, or both Classic Sub and Noob Saibot. At the end of the day, that's probably the smartest route Boon et al could tak, presuming they want to keep Older and Younger Sub in the roster as they are (let's ignore for now the possibility of a cyber-subzero).

If it were up to me, there's no reason that all of them can't show up at different points in the story mode, and all be selectable in VS mode. I have no doubt that Noob will be in the game, simply because he's extremely popular... just look how many threads he has already.
