It's a catch-22. Shao Kahn felt vastly underpowered when he became just another playable character. As a Boss, he was vastly overpowered, threatening, hard as hell, and that's what made him a memorable, challenging, and well done boss. That gets lost if he's neutered down to even the playing field.

I wouldn't mind him as a boss. I enjoyed playing as him too. I'm game either way.

Yeah, as much as I love Shao Kahn and his character in the story, I'm honestly extremely sick and tired of seeing him running around and "coming back from the dead" to screw everyone.

This guy should be dead and should had been killed by now.

But, considering the main essence of this game, I think he will definitely be the boss again.

Hopefully for the last time.

Kill him already. There's really nothing new he can offer anymore and it feels like he keeps things stagnant by STILL being present. Don't get me wrong, I love Shao Kahn, but, it really is time for him to step down and let someone else (preferable new, or Shinnok) take the main villain lead.

Although unlikely it is possible that he will not be the main boss in the game, seeing as anything could change with this whole time change deal. Although everything is set from MK1-3 and the majority of the games revolved around Shao Kahn as the main villain.

With all that being said I would be happy if he were the main boss in these games, with the ending of this game doing away with him once and for all.

What if in story mode Shao Kahn is betrayed by Goro, Kintaro, Motaro or Shang Tsung and is killed by one of them? It would set up a new boss for this game, but I have a feeling that Kahn will be the boss for the last time after this Mortal Kombat.

Something crazy will happen. It won't just be the same story if Raiden the whole time is learning more and more about the scenario. Kahn can't be the boss or else theyre just making MK 1-3 just with Raiden with a mental image. I can't wait!

This story is going back in time to MK1 and MK2. During that time Shao Kahn is still the boss and still has all his powers. So yeah, I’m 99% sure he will be the main baddy. Though I do think because the new Raiden knows what’s going to happen this time will be his dead for good. And maybe if we get to play a part of the MK1 storyline as well then old Shang Tsung may be a boss too.

Hope Goro and Kahn become playable characters. Make a new boss

Hopefully Shao Kahn get taking out right at the start of story mode cause I would love to see Goro and Kintaro team up and kill Shao Kahn once and for all and have the shokan rule outworld.

Do NOT make Shaokahn playable!!I want to see him at the top as a boss fight...but with a twist.

Like when your about to beat him....a cut scene or something happens and someone else comes and kills him.Then you would have to fight that character as the final boss.Just an idea.

I loved Kahn as the last boss as he was a challenge,but I do think a twist will happen this time around.

Keep Kahn on as boss. Im obviously a Shang fan. I would like to see Shang betray Kahn and attain some kind of new power, making him literally bigger and badder. I just think of him as the original face of evil in MK. Give him a dose of Titan products from Batman Arkham Asylum, like the joker.
