Hi there,
A lot of MK fans seem to want Steve Richie to make a return as the announcer.
I don't know if the team is aware of this but I have a suggestion and would like to hear your thoughts on it.
If they are unable to get Steve Richie to return as the announcer, for whatever reason, or they decide too keep the new announcer, I think they could recycle the MK trilogy voice recordings and presented them as an option in the menu.
We could then select which announcer we would like and I think most of us would be fine if they re use the MK trilogy sounds? I mean, they do own the copyright on them so it should be no real problem.
Any thoughts?

If there are any characters in the game who aren't from Trilogy, that would be a problem.
I don't see why they don't get the guy from Shaolin Monks. He did a perfectly good Steve Richie/Shao Kahn voice.

Yeah that might pose a problem, didn't think about that.
I was under the impression it that it was in fact Steve Richie in MK:SM. That guy really did a good job then

I suggested that at one point to, seeing as how they announced there would be no new characters. Apparently the problem would be the sound quality. I myself would love to see this, and it would be cool if it was an interchangable feature, like in "BLEACH Heat the Soul" games, you're able to switch it so that the annoucner voice is ANY of the characters

I would Love for Ritchie to Return or to have that option in the extras menu. Great Idea. I would guess, now thinking back, that it probebly was him in MKSM, or somebody trying to catch that same feeling.
Either would work for me.

If they were to reuse the voice recordings from Trilogy they would have to pay Royalties to Steve Richie since its his voice and I dont think they want to do that

Geez, I'm glad that others out there noticed it too! Shaolin Monks had a badass announcer! It just sounded like Shao Kahn from the FIGHT message down to the FINISH HIM! The laughter sounded evil and cruel like TEST YOUR MIGHT...HAHAHA FEEBLE! The new announcer (no offense to HernanSanchez) strikes me as a fat obese man telling people what to do!

Correct. It was indeed Steve Ritchie (Just one online source of many. Here's the credits incase someone doesn't believe imdb )

Huh...I did not realize that was him reprising the role.
Well yeah, they absolutely should get him back then. They need to establish and KEEP the voice actors for these characters instead of changing them every damned game.
