Shaping up to be the best Mortal Kombat ever

Hands on impressions show that blood is realistic, can splatter onto players clothes and stay there until they dry up and decay, fatalities show the body stretching until it rips apart ect.
Intros are in, characters feel unique, 3 tier super system, 2 on 2 kombat, 2.5D gameplay, 26 characters.....
I'm pumped

I agree. And I can't wait until I get to play the game in 9 months.

I'm pumped as well and really hope for a demo cuz 9 months is a long wait and a huge tease.

Mortal Kombat II is still the best in my heart.
Everything seems right.
The only thing I don't like is that backgrounds disappear in pitch black during fatalities. I think fatalities look better and feel less repetitive when the stage is visible. Also, once the fatality is over, the winner stands in front a dull black curtain. There should be an option to disable the darkening of the screen.

This is without a doubt going to be the best Mortal Kombat game ever made.
It's really a shame that there are still threads being made that critize this MK game. It's everything any MK fan could want. I still have to point out there is still 9 months left to completely polish this game up.
I can't wait.

It looks to be a huge step up from what we have been seeing 4-5 games, but I refuse to get my hopes high enough to call it the best in the series. That's the kind of attitude that could potentially cause major dissapointment in a game. I learned my lesson when MW2 was released. Remember, even if it slaughters the animated era, it still has to battle the sprite rendered MK1-Trilogy nostalgia.

What was wrong with MW2?
I mean it wasn't groundbreaking, but it was cool.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the campaign, but I was dissapointed in the online. IMO, it had potential to be great. Awesome new weapons, solid gameplay, amazing campaign, and new perks. That got all jacked up when Infinity Ward overdid things. The maps were too complex, leading to easy spawn kills and flanking. It felt like I was playing a Treyarch game. When you compare this too the simple, yet fun maps of COD4, and the much more bearable spawn points, it's just a buzzkill. Just when the new maps started to correct these errors, the modders hopped on the bandwagon. Sure, COD4 has it's cheaters, but nowhere near the degree of it's successor. Look at the leaderboards on MW2. Then play enough games to experience the see through wall and headshot seeking bullet mods. That may not be the developers fault, but it can ruin a game none the less. I suppose this is all my opinion, but that's what I was getting at. Anyway, this is a Mortal Kombat forum, so let's get back on topic, haha.
