Sheeva vs Motaro

Sheeva's inclusion, I am almost certain of....since other characters of her "rank" are also included(Ermac, Stryker, NiteWolf). You know, the "second stringers".

However, there has been much talk of exlcuding Motaro, the representative of the Shokan's hated foes. This would be a shame, as he is also a very unique character. Brutal, powerful and mythic.

What do you think of Cantaurs? Shokans? Their rivallry? wouldn't it be neat if there was a female Cantaur character? lol flamebait. But I'm serious.

Anyway, I would love to have Sheeva vs Motaro in MK9.

I'm not sure the story of MK3 can be properly told without centaurs. I certainly wouldn't approve of the attempt, anyway.

You know, Motaro's still topping my list for 'character I don't expect to see back'. The move back to 2D has to make it somewhat easier for him to be included again, but I really wouldn't be surprised if the Centaurs were omitted from this version by having the Shokans remain in Kahn's good graces.

I really, really want to see him back to his old four-legged, badass self again though. I hope this isn't the case.

Yeah I've had the feeling for a while now that Motaro and Kintaro may be left out. Which means Sheeva has less of a chance to make the game since her story was tied up with Motaro. But we'll see. I'd like to see them all, but I can honestly say that having both Kintaro and Goro in the same game isn't as cool as everyone seems to think it is, MKT and MKA proved that. "We wanna play as all the bosses!" usually ends with the game sucking or in the least the Boss characters sucking.

Nobody's saying Motaro needs to be playable. He just needs to be in as a boss, for story mode fidelity.

Why not just make Kintaro an Alt. for Goro???

They have similar moves anyway. and when you select Kintaro, Goro's name on the top screen gets removed and it now says Kintaro.

If they put Motaro in, the only thing I want is for him to be an actual centaur again. Armageddon fucked up bad on that one.

I just want to fight four legged Motaro as a sub-boss again, he was never very fun to play as. Kintaro doesn't really need to be in it if Goro is going to be in it, unless they just want to re-skin Goro and slightly change up his moves (i'd accept that as an unplayable sub-boss) and Sheeva is just a neutral in my book.

Similar but not identical. Goro traditionally has a chest thump grab and a leaping stomp, Kintaro was first with the teleport and a two-handed grab-smash. Kintaro spits fire, Goro throws it. They gave them other different moves in MKA IIRC, like Kintaro's inhale-smash.

Making them one character is the opposite of what I'd want to see. Goro started out as a very quick sub-boss, Kintaro as a slow and lumbering one who happened to be able to tele-stomp you from anywhere. They should really be set further apart - personally, I was pissed off when Goro simply took Kintaro's fireball spit and teleport stomp in MK4 (as Sheeva did in MK3).

I think every one will be in the game, just not playable or necessarily fightable. Like I'm expecting to see Motaro and Sheeva and Kintaro and whom ever else in story mode some where, or at least referenced to in story mode. Just not playable or any one you're gonna fight against.

Anyways Sheeva vs. Motaro... Motaro.... I think..... hmmm..... K imma be honest her MKO so hush hush...... Motaro use to be a top 10 fav mk char of mine. I guess I just thought he was really a really kool sub boss and seemed so different for MK at the time. Nowadays, sure I still like him but wouldn't call him a top fav no more, but that what he got going for him.... Now Sheeva.... some times I use to imagine her naked and how freaky it would be to fuck her...... So depending on how she treats me, maybe Sheeva... other wise Motaro....

I certainly hope so, Sheeva was and still is one of only one of a kind female characters, who is all about blendy staggering strength and agility. I'm pretty sure with Stryker's inclusion that Sheeva is also in as well (similar popularity). I want Sheeva to be brutal and agile like she was in MK3, I didn't like her as much in Armageddon.

I also want Motaro in as well but only if he has his centaur body, I definitely don't want to hear a silly story about "they put a spell on my race that took away our hind legs".

The Shokan and Centaur rivalry was one of the best story elements for me in MK3, I think Sheeva's far too connected with the people in MK3, Sindel, Shao Kahn, Motaro, etc to be ignored, definitely cannot wait to see her.

A new Sub-boss should be some unholy abomination combining Centaurs, Shokans, and Tarkatans.

Any character that appeared in MK3's opening story cannot be excluded from this game.

From what I can remember (or if I just cheat and go to the MK Warehouse), that would include:

Shao Kahn
Shang Tsung
Sindel
Liu Kang
Kabal
Stryker
Sub-Zero
Nightwolf
Jax
Sonya
Kung Lao
Motaro
Kano
Cyrax
Sektor
Smoke

That's 16 there, and 9 of them have been visually confirmed. It seems NRS is really focusing in on the Chosen Warriors, as 5 of the 8 have already been confirmed.

Well there definitely is a fanbase for both characters. For the 3 bosses, I hope they do swap them out like in MKT, unless you pick the big tier and battle em all like I always tried without a continue, maybe this time there will be an award at the end of it worth playing it that way for. Motoro never made much use of that big tail and now that it went back to 2d and the fact that the remake of MK3 in 3d for that iphone had a 3d mk3 model version reassures me he'll more than likely be in. Imagine what unique fatalities he could have instead of that last minute rip off a head MKT fatality he had: maybe use his tail and stab the opponent in the chest then hold him/her above him like scorpion did in his mk4 fatality then use his horns and rip them apart, would be sweet, kinda like that viking guy in Mace the dark ages. Sheeva, I have a gut feeling she's being saved for last along with Stryker as the final suprise that they both really made it. I hope both Sheeva is a bit remade, just hope her fireball looks exactly like her MK3 spark looked sweet with the shadow. I can see her and Kintoro retaining both the ground stomp and teleport stomp but at different speeds slow down Sheeva and speed up Kintoro's moves whereas they will walk around differently Sheeva will play quickly and Kintoro slow/lankyish, whereas Goro having his original jump stomp from MK1 where he wouldn't teleport. Goro also has his spin move that was really kewl.

Sheeva's skin rip needs 3d therapy and should get that rumored Jax fatality where they get pounded into the ground and the head kicked off, I can see her long dragonish leg knocking off somebody's head.

I actually hope they do away with her fireball that doesn't seem to suit her at all) and just give her some more formidable close range options. Her teleport stomp is really all she needs to combat zoning.... though I would assume it would be unsafe unless you know the opponent cannot block in time.

But ya that fireball seems off, out of character and unnecessary.

Shokans use fire, tele stomp is unblockable. Nuff said.
