Should chaos and order realm make an apperance
Although I do not want to see either realms in the new Mortal Kombat game, I liked the characters from it in Deception as you had Hotaru from the Realm of Order acting like a policeman and whilst you think "oh he must be a good guy" he atcually sided with the baddies and Dragon King to restore Order whilst Havik who you'd think was a baddie was opposed to the Dragon King, so I found that aspect of it intresting, but for a retelling of MK1-MK3 I can't see how added them two realms and the characters from them will add to the story?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Never again.
It was stupid, bland, shallow, empty....
As the other one said, Zatera, Netherrealm, Nitara's Realm... but not thoses piece of crap.
Actually, Deception and Armaggedon should be dreams. All dreams... A dream that Kitana had. That's it.
And a bad dream it was (story wise).

I don't see how adding those realms to the story could be any relevant, and as someone said, Dairou and Darrius both are really bland characters, at least Hotaru and Havik are somewhat interesting.

That's not actually true.
Hotaru was a minion of the Dragon King. He was sent to kill Sub-Zero after Sub-Zero slaughtered Baraka's men with his magic cryomancer armor.
And Havik was sort of mentor to Kabal and the Black Dragon gang, AND he was against the Dragon King, so he helped Shujinko gather up all the heroes and led them to Onaga's castle for the final battle.
But Dairou and Darrius are completely useless shit. Which is a real shame, because originally, Dairou was SUPPOSED to be in Deadly Alliance, as a minion hired by Shang to guard his castle. He was going to be an evil samurai with two katanas, sort of the Anti-Kenshi. But that Dairou, the much better Dairou, got left on the cutting room floor. And Darrius was going to be a Red Dragon member to replace Mavado, before they made him a Seidan rebel leader just to give Orderrealm more plot. BOTH unused ideas are superior to what ended up in the game. What the hell happened there?

Wow, I didn't know that. That Dairou sounds pretty badass.
As for Darrius, in a perfect world Mavado wouldn't need replaced anyway.

Eh, I didn't like Mavado much. The grappling hooks were kinda cool, but he didn't really have any personality. "I'm a vaguely spanish guy in a bland looking trenchcoat, I'm all about being disciplined and emotionless. I stole my hookswords from a far more interesting character than I am. Blah blah blah."
I was happy Kabal came back and gutted him. (though I sorely wish Kabal had stayed a vigilante instead of them bringing the goddamn Black Dragon back again)

To be completely honest I never liked Mavado either, but he had potential. I would MUCH rather have him around than have Kabal come back from the dead. Sure, he didn't come back from the dead in-canon, but it's plainly obvious that he WAS dead before the developers found that little loophole that allowed him to survive. My main gripe with the story as a whole is death. If someone just stayed dead, I would be a happy man.
Then again, I would MUCH rather Kabal never die in the first place. But the past is the past in both cases.
Anyway, I liked Mavado's alternate costume and I liked his story and gameplay (in concept), but his primary "Benicio Del Toro as Neo" costume was extremely boring. I always thought he had terrible specials as well, but I could definitely think of some cool things to do with hookswords attached to ropes. The animation and graphics on his specials was the worst. Ugh, those bright red bungees...

yea i thought his alt was really cool, thats pretty much the only good thing i can say about him

No,of course I would love nothing more than to play with Havik on again I actually loved his character.

Wow, now I feel out of the loop since I'm not a huge Havik fan lol. He was okay, but I really liked Darrius over him just because his motivation was a little more personal. Havik wanted chaos just because that's how he rolls. He's a reverse Hotaru. But Darrius wants chaos because he realizes that the there is too MUCH order in Orderrealm and it's crushing the spirit and freedom of the people. I found that a bit more compelling of a rivalry where Hotaru is trying to maintain the status quo while Darrius is trying to stop the Seidan Guards from oppressing everyone. Never really much cared for Dairrou though. He was just a former-guard now-mercenary with a vendetta. Didn't really find it THAT interesting.
Actually wasn't Darrius also a former Seidan guard? Not 100% on that, but that makes him a little more compelling to me if he was on the inside and saw just how screwed up their law system was.
I guess with all that being said I really would love to see Darrius and Hotaru in MK9. I'd be fine with Havik and Hotaru, but I'd be much happier seeing Darrius try to shut Hotaru down.

I'd say no. Maybe not for good, but not for a long time. I'm not sure who was in charge of writing after Deadly Alliance, but someone REALLY went off point. I think the idea of the other realms is a good idea though. I just think it should have been an Earth vs. Outworld kind of deal, and then they should start fleshing out what Kitana's realm (Edenia right?) used to be like before Shao Kahn took over. And flesh out what the Netherrealm was like. The whole Chaos and Order stuff should have waited if they just HAD to introduce it. I also think more established characters origins should have been established before the randomness that was the Chaos/Order realms. What was Reptile's realm like? Was he evolved from Earth? What other minions could Shinnok or Noob have had in the Netherrealm? If they were going to need to introduce new characters, why not from one of the previous realms? Movado was from Earth, and Hsu Hao was from Earth, why couldn't Darrius have been from the Netherrealm you know?
Eh...I'm just ranting. I apologize.

To me, there's Earth, Outworld and the Netherealm. Seal all the rest of them off. I'm one of the fans of "Blow up Edenia" and I've never seen a need for Choasrealm and Orderealm, which have to be the most on the nose names for anything I've ever heard. What would've been great is if they had been the opposite of their names, like Greenland and Iceland.
Wait, no... They'd still be lame.
I'm not saying that people that like them have bad taste. Ya know, to each, his own. But for me personally, I just never got in to that storyline and the characters didn't do much to sell it either. Havik had an awesome look, but his moves were lame. Hotaru looked cool as well, but had two special moves. Dairou... Well, Razor did an excellent job of summarizing this mess of a character.

One thing I think may have helped is if they emphasized the name SEIDO more, instead "Orderrealm." Might have helped them get taken a bit more seriously, I think.
Imagine if they called Edenia, "Prettyrealm" all the time. No one would take that place seriously or the characters that come out of it.
Even less so than they do now, anyway....
Also, would be better referring to the other place as "The Chaos Realm"...as in, it has no real name (because they're so chaotic, I suppose).
Compare to the Netherealm and how it's never called just "Netherealm," but always THE Netherealm.
It's the little things.

MK, in my honest opinion, just got too big, too fast. Around the MK:DA-MK:A era, the cast ballooned to an excessive size. Almost half the MK cast emerged during this era, to an overall mixed reception. But the world around MK really did just get bloated.
Which is baffling, considering there were established realms we never got to see. We really never have explored what Zatera looks like, or Nitara's vampire realm. Edenia, itself, hasn't been shown off as much as it could.
Personally, I feel the conflicts and characters matter most with the focus is narrowed. Earthrealm, Outworld, and Netherrealm were the three pillars, I felt, that made the conflict interesting. Orderrealm and Chaosrealm felt redundant since I felt Netherrealm could be a place of chaos and corruption, while Outworld could have been ruled with a rigid, ironfist of submission and order.
I'll echo someone else's sentiments in that I hope Edenia gets destroyed at some point. Kitana, Jade, Sindel, and other Edenians were more interesting characters when they were the underdogs, the outcasts, and the rebels, rather than the ruling class. The best stories involve taking taking a character and throwing them into a world of instability, out of their element, and seeing how they cope and manage, either letting circumstance break them or strengthen them.

I'd say no, they seemed a bit unnecessary. So did the characters, except Havic.
And why are all the realms less advanced than earthrealm? Shouldn't the orderrealm have more advanced weapons and stuff?

To be fair, they were just doing what they always do.
MK2 introduced 10 new characters.
MK3/UMK3/Trilogy introduced 12
MK4 introduced 8
Deadly Alliance introduced 12
Deception introduced 9
And Armageddon, the odd one out, introduced only 2
And that's if you leave out characters who have never been playable, like Kia, Jataaka, the Gods of Earth, Water, and Fire, Argus and Delia, etc.
On an unrelated note, we can't be shown Zaterra, it's still part of Outworld. Unless there's still a leftover chunk of territory like how the Shokans still have Kuatan Palace.
