So No Konquest Mode

It was...let me list. Corny, stupid, a waste of time, a waste of space, a waste of potential time to make the game better. If Konquest was back thats weeks of time spent away from making the fighting and a real story mode better. I hated running around doing that junk. It was fun at first but got old. It was hardly a story, it was just following an old man around on his quest to fuck everything up.

I loved the MKD Konquest mode and how it led to the opening of the game... and I played it for ages trying to find easter eggs and unlock everything... It was pretty cool watching Shujinko evolve and interact with the characters and realms...
But having that kind of massive konquest mode in this game, my thoughts are mixed on that... It would be cool but at the same time, the team would have their hands tied on it... But they could do something simple yet effective, like the Tekken 6 Story mode (Just the map part, not the action/adventure stuff) but have fights going along with the story... I don't know how I can put it into words, hopefully you understand what I'm saying...

This was already given indirect attention from Ed in an interview at E3. Once I heard there was going to be a story mode, there was NO doubt in my mind that Konquest would not be appearing. The team knows the mistakes it has made in the past and this is a game for the harcore fans of the first games based on Story and Fighting.
A story mode thats longer than Both of the MKDC Story modes put together, aswell as more in-depth, It has actually been called the DEEPEST story mode ever in a fighting game.
And people want more?? Tell me, what will Konquest be like? a new free roam fighting system? fully detials realms? missions and objectives? Secrets? A new character to rise and somehow be the most powerful AGAIN? an existing character to run the realms kicking ass?
Been there, done that.
MKO bashed MKDA, MKD and MKA for poor concentration on the fighting engine ye tusers beg and beg for more extra modes which will continue to contribute to the same things. The better Konquest got, the worse the gameplay got in the actual fighting game.
Tell me, whats so different between Story and Konquest? It is literally the same thing in essance. A linear path, whether you are in control and roam around or not, A set path of objectives unfold as the story of the current storyline is told and set's up for the Arcade Endings.
If they let you run around in Story mode, It would literally seem no different than Konquest. There is need for only one as they are the same thing. The ONE thing I really loved about MKD's Konquest is the ability to find out more about the MK canon from past to present. Interactions with characters and the story is awsome. But I am not going to be upset if all I get is a story mode with challanges, trophies and the best fighting engine to date.
So in my mind, this theory has been dead since E3, We get the story mode, TAG mode, Challange Tower!!(awsome idea), massive concentration on skill and online play, best fighting engine, Classic games incorperated into reboot, Fatalities, M rated..
What more can you ask for and not feel greedy? I am 100% satisfied with this game and I suggest some people start seeing how good it is not to have 324575 modes in a game.

No no konquest always seemed liked an half assed BUT I dont understand why they dont make another shaolin monks type game it is with out a doubt the most fun I have had with an mk game they nailed the old mk vibe the fighting system was crazy good and fluid and you have to consider when its there first stab at a game like this they did a pretty damn good job I would say its the best god of war clone last gen. The boss fights were so amazing and nostalgic I dont know but they should make a seperate studio to work on a sequel to SM...

I'm sure they'll make another adventure game like Shaolin Monks again one day, sometime after MK9 comes out.
But you have to understand, they just went bankrupt and got bought by a new studio. They don't have the resources or brand strength yet to make two games at the same time. We just need to be patient.

While I was kind of disappointed when I first heard the news of no Konquest mode, because I think they provide a great background building up to and even ending stories to the game. But I soon realize two thing. First, MK stories were great before we had Konquet mode, so it still be without it in this game. And second, well we should pretty much know the story of this one. Afer all, it's a reboot of 1-3. While some things may change, all and all, many things will remain the same.

It really should be seperate games, i like the mk:deadly allaince version better. Seemed like it was a mode to just get extra costumes and extra stuff and figuring about the fighters back ground.
If they add it, it should be dlc thats my opinion.

Konquest was always enjoyable, but I'm glad it's gone. It took attention and development away from the core of the game.
Kind of a shame, as Konquest was far and away the best thing about MKD and MKA. But that spot should have gone to the fighting in the first place. If it's to be left by the wayside in order to concentrate on what matters - and we still get a story mode - I'm all for it.

Konquest in MKA was enjoyable but I hated the MKDA and MKD ones. I personally think a VERY long story mode like mkvs.dc had would be fun.
konquest was lame.... All it was was basically a level select.... call me old fashioned... but all i want is a large roster and a few game modes.. like vs, online, arcade, challenge, training... etc.... EVERY fighting game that has lame other modes is a waste of time you could be playing the "real" game.
Just give us arcade, challenge and a few arena game modes..

i never hated it, but i never loved it.
i'm not glad to see it gone, it extended the amount i spent playing the game, there's nothing wrong with that.
so maybe i will miss it

Konquest definitely took the MK out of MK for me. I mean, I kinda already knew the story. All I do is want to fight. The Konquest mode would take the attention away from that.
