So will we actually see more at E3 ??

It seems the trend for the past few years has been to announce everything before E3 ....... so was the teaser trailer it ? Was that the big reveal , or will we actually get some real information and possibly hands on with the game previews ?

apparently there will be a playable build which equal hands-on preview write-ups from all the gaming sites. Im also sure NR will conduct interviews to establish the new story and shed light on where it is going...and where it is starting lol. Oh and we'll definitely see at least one fatality - thats also an MKe3 trend.

We will get more gameplay videos at E3, and maybe even see a few new people.

They've revealed so many characters already. It seems a little soon to reveal more, but who am I to complain? Looks like it's gonna be a big roster.

Yeah you're right QueenSindel, they did show many characters already... but I'm sure they will show another 4 characters at E3. And I'm sure the roster will be a bit big. Should have at least 25 characters in the game.

If they are copy/pasting SF4 marketing and gameplay and all, we'll see alot of characters guys. That's for sure.I say like 30-35 characters atleast.

It really seems like they are. Hell, we might even get a "super" edition of some sort.

Just because it's 2.5D does not mean their copying Street Fighter. It's just silly to think that.

SF4 did prove that audiences would respond positively to a game with 3D characters fighting on a 2D plane with no sidestepping though, so even if they're not doing it just to rip Capcom off, we do have Capcom to thank for showing that it wasn't a bad idea.

They might of got the idea from Street Fighter, but like you said, it does not mean their ripping off Street Fighter in any way.

Well big rosters have been the popular thing to have for years. UMK3 was probably the first game to do it and the Tekken and Soul Calibur series almost never get rid of characters, so every game their rosters get bigger and bigger.

I do hope the roster is huge. Nothing of Armageddon proportions, but 30-35 of our favorite classic fighters would be great.

Well it almost has to have the whole roster from Trilogy if it's a remake of the first three. And Trilogy's roster was approximately 30 characters, give or take.

Now this time, obviously Human/Cyber Smoke and Masked/MK3 Subbie can be alternate costumes instead of seperate characters. And Ed said on Twitter a while back that the C/Khameleons were unlikely to be brought back. So that helps. Everyone else should be able to fit though.

Worst case scenario, the least populars like Rain and Stryker don't get finished in time and in that case they could always come out later as DLC.

The only thing I'm worried about is where the Shokans and Motaro stand. If they're in but not playable, I'll be fine with that, but will they be able to make the 4 legs work this time? It should be way easier in 2.5D. Just have him play exactly the same as he did in MK3, really. I'm pretty sure sidestepping looking awkward was one of the big reasons they said why they couldn't get him right in Armageddon.

It's not a remake of the first three games, it's a reboot.

Same difference, I'm not interested in having one of those stupid "JRF said this, JRF's always right, blah blah blah" discussions.
if John Vogel's writing the story, and we all know he IS because that's what his job on the dev team is, he'll stick to the same plot and characters and only change minor things here and there. That's his style.

If you really want to get into it, the casting sheet said Shang still starts as an old man hosting a tournament then gets his youth back, Sektor and Cyrax are still Lin Kuei who get turned into cyborgs, Jax still starts out without metal arms and then gets them later, and Jade still has to choose between serving Kahn and helping her best friend Kitana.

All that sounds like it's the same way it was the first time, whereas a TRUE "reboot" would wipe the slate completely and make it up as they go. Incredible Hulk, for instance, is a "reboot" because it completely ignored everything that happened in Ang Lee's Hulk movie and did it all different.

Therefore I use the word "remake".
