Stage Fatality Distance Varies?

Everyone's stage fatality distance "varies" in the menu screen. For all the known stage fatalities you stand right next to them. So what does that mean? Are there hidden ones that require you to be across the screen? I'm not the greatest at getting the inputs right everytime (360 guy btw), so has anyone else been trying this? Say in Kahn's throne room or the Bell Tower? Something's got to be up with that Cage vs Cage challenge "hint". Just a thought...if it's nothing, maybe it will be something come DLC time.
P.S.- did anyone else get the 100% krypt acheivement with 3 more coffins/bodies to open? Just happened to me. Finished off in the Blood Marsh and the acheivement popped up with 3 more bodies laying in the blood. I got to open them afterwards but it was strange.

I'm pretty sure, as of now, that the 'varies' refers to which arenas you can perform a stage fatality in, not at what distance. All stage fatalities thus far are done at close/sweep.
That's all it means, I think.

I appreciate the speculation. Me personally, when I read "varies" next to the stage fatalities, it doesn't seem like the right term to stress that it applies to certain stages. Given that this slot is associated with distances on ALL the other finishers, I lean towards this meaning that there are stage fatalities that require something other than an uppercut or grab. example: Fullscreen away, input the command in Kahn's throneroom, camera zooms to Kahn who commands Tigore to attack, we're treated to a very gruesome stage fatality/animality. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But there's something to this, either hidden very well now, or programmed for future DLC stage fatals with "varied" input command distances.

You can open the secret chests (4 of them) and they count towards your krypt total. So if you opened all of them, you'd still have 4 regular ones left and still get the achievement/trophy.

Woah. There are secret chests? Would you mind telling me how to find them, and if they contain anything worth getting? Thanks.

Thanks for solving my p.s. Thought that was odd. I would figure once people opened all the regular krypt items and didn't get the 100% acheivement, they would naturally go looking for secrets. This eliminates that option.

From the ~Unofficial~ Fatality List and Guide thread:
1) Deadlands: approach the tomb of DL45 head left towards DL52 look forward and right a little bugs appear near a patch of grass
2)Hollow of Infestation: follow the wall from the lake where the area starts go along six skulls bugs appear under it
3)Bloodmarsh: Head right from BM81 under the skull on the wall
4)Meadow of Despair: from the back row head left from the left most iron maiden on top of a slight mound is more bugs

I'm not sure, but the most logical thing is what was said above; you can't do it on every stage.
I'm wondering if there might be a secret fatality on the deadpool where you can uppercut the people onto hooks.

I spent a whole hour in VS trying different distances on the belltower, and nothing.
Mabey it will come in DLC?

The Kolliseum's lack of a fatality makes sense to me. The belltower does not. Just becase a large creature is in the background doesn't mean anything IMO. It seems every thing that COULD kill someone in the background of a stage has been speculated in regards to a stage finisher. The belltower however used to have a fatality, so I would expect it to now. However I can see why it was left out, since the spikes were already used in the new pit. I'd love to see someone get thrown into gears or something but so far that is the only stage that should have one and lacks it.

I'm with you on a gear/crushing type stage fatality in the bell tower. Still, I don't see many people complaining on adding a few more. I'm hoping in some DLC that we get at least a couple that would explain the "varies" in the menu for them. Maybe someone can tweet the guys at NRS about why that's there? I don't have twitter myself, but I'm VERY curious.

about the post script:same thing happened to me.
about the rest:i've been thinking this to be the case for a long time. that there are stage fatalities in other stages, just that nobody has found them yet

No it doesnt, thats what the red skull is for on the pic of the arena when you pic them. The varies must have something to do with DLC or something super hidden within the game. Noway in hell does the varies mean what stage you can do it on. Thats the distance, just like they have it next to the fatalities and Babalities. FACT

Tried keying moves too, sometimes adding R2 (secretly thinking that maybe it requires an enhanced bar or something).
As for the bell tower, this was one of the earliest arena to be revealed (August 2010) and so I would assume that it was finished relatively early.
And with Boon saying that all returning arenas would get their stage fatalities back, I'm sure the Bell Tower has a stage fatality in it some where, just maybe locked.
And the thread about one of the Challenge tower missions (where Johnny Cage gets "slaughtered" multiple times) could also be a hint.

That happened to me too. I thought it had something to do with me getting the secret koffins.
