Sub-Zeros Scar

I wonder of we'll ever see the origin of Sub-Zero's scar on the right eye... Seeing as his render still has no scar, I'm assuming that we will see how and who gives the scar...
I know that in SM, Kung Lao is the one that slashes at his eye, but that game wasn't really canon...
I always imagined that Scorpion gave him the scar, but I could also see Smoke doing it after his automation...
I dunno, I always felt there was an untold story to it, and now it could be revealed in the story...
Thoughts?

I'm thinking it was during the Lin Kuei escape, probably by Sektor or Cyrax. Can't wait for an unmasked Sub Zero alt.

Although I was never a fan of his MK3 unmasked appearance, I think it would be suitable for his alternate. I'd prefer his unmasked look over the MKD old man and shredder look. Regarding the scar...I believe it came from his escape from Lin Kuei academy.

Yeah I think he'll probably get his scar from the whole automation saga... then he'll probably go rogue and we'll see his new costume, unmasked with his scar... just like MK3...

Yeah I always thought Cyrax and Sektor did it. And it looks like Cyrax has a new saw blade in this game, that's my bet on how he got it.

Yeah I always hated the way Shaolin Monks gave Sub-Zero his scar......Kung Lao just wacks him in the eye with his bladed hat and Sub-Zero acts like nothing happened at all then he's all buddy buddy with them afterwards, plus it was just a lame concept overall.

I think he got it while escaping the Lin Kuei from trying to automate him into a cyborg, but that's just me.

I guess we'll find out April 19.

it is a retelling of the story ..so i believe it could be anyone ....
i would like to see it turn out to be .. Scorpion or Noob that gives it to him ..
it would add on to there rivals

I always interpretted it as a wound from Scorpion. Seeing as they had the most iconic rivalry and everything. Not too mention that Scorpion has weapons that slash, thus leaving a scar like Sub-zero's. Sector and Cyrax aren't really known for slashing weapons.

How do you figure that one? It seemed like in Mk3 Kabal and Sub-zero had nothing to do with each other.

Well even though this is a retelling of MK1-3, Scorpion vowed to protect the younger Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang), when he saw him spare an opponent and found out he was not the original subby (Bi-Han).

And if and hopefully this game will still follow that portion of the story Scorpion would have no reason to try and physically harm Sub-Zero.

But in MK3 it's mentioned that Sub-Zero had escaped from the Lin Kuei after they tried to automate him and then he appeared with the scar on his face, so I'm gonna assume it was related to either Cyrax mainly or Sektor somehow.
