From the recently stageshow on Gamespot, you can see that this game has dashing instead of the normal running, from past Mortal Kombats. What is your feelings of this? Would you have rathered the run button return, or are you all for dashing?

I personally would have been happy either way, but I'm excited that there is dashing.

Boon also stated that not one person will share the same animation, yet they all dash in the same way. I know this is an early build, obviously, and mostly everything is subject to change, but would you want someone like Raiden, for example, his dash to be his teleport? Working similarly to how Arakune's dash works in BlazBlue.

Fighters sharing the same dash animation doesnt bother me...I didn't even notice it to be honest. But different animations for a dash dont bother me.

I'm more concerned with fighters sharing the same jump kicks and jump punches....which i think i noticed in the gamespot footage. That bothered me a little.

I think the run button is a little archaic and probably something better left behind than included just because it's traditional. Separate dash animations also seem kind of unnecessary for the most part, unless I suppose a developer is trying to create a real differing sense of movement from character to character. Which I think is probably a little over the heads of the Neatherrealm team right now.

It's not a dash button. It's f,f and b,b. Jeff Gerstmann said everything in the game will be mapped to a 5 button layout. I wonder about that. How would you tag if it's not its own button?

Block, I'd assume. I hope there's a dash button. Double tapping forward is clumsy, especially if you have the bane of an 360 analog stick.

I use the fight pad for fighting games my self. Works great for the 25 bucks I paid for it.

Block button isn't a little obsolete, like Run button?

Shinomune, there's no HP, LP, HK, LK in MK9, Ed said it in the interview with gameplay. Each button does a different attack but not the same way as the old mks.

It's obvious that dashing forward is going to be double tapping forward. The point of the topic was whether or not you want dashing, or you wished there was running.

I also consider a block button very "archaic", but yet that has made a return once again.

In the defense of the block button, I've never had the problem in Mortal Kombat where I wanted to walk backwards but the computer decided for me that I wanted to block, therefore making me eat a jump in attack while a sonic boom floats toward me at snails pace.

looked too much like 1234,BL I think the old school standard has been burried. which is good, I'd like more variety than HP,LP,HK,LK,BL
