I'm not a stan that's harassing everyone on Twitter. I am a fan of Mileena and I'm okay with her not being in MK11. That aside, when she does return I would love for them to continue to keep her as her own character.

I know she and Kitana are supposed to be the female Scorpion and Sub Zero but honestly I have never gotten that vibe. In the old timeline more often than not Kitana was off doing her own thing and not even thinking about Mileena while Mileena was obsessed with her, plus she always lost to Kitana. So to me the "rivalry" has always felt one sided and I believe freeing Mileena from Kitana's story is the best thing to do for her. You can't exactly have her get some character development if she's stuck doing the same thing and always failing.

I liked her depiction in MKX where she is doing her own thing (though her treatment by NRS in general isn't very good either). In the old timeline She hated Kitana because Shao Kahn love her more and I imagine Kitana killing her in MK2 didn't help matters. I always thought it would be nice that she realizes how much of an ass Kahn really was and strives to become the Empress of Outworld. Her goal would be to un merge every realm that Shao Kahn has ever conquered because what better way to get revenge on the bastard then undoing everything he spent his life doing? This could lead to the people of Outworld being on her side as an effect even though their well being wasn't on her mind and over time she starts to care because I imagine the felling of being genuinely appreciated by others would be a welcomed feeling for someone like Mileena.

I would also like a friendship between her and Skarlet since a friend of mine once said that in a way Skarlet is more her sister then Kitana so that could be interesting.

This all sounds like fan fiction and if I could write I would but I can't lol. So that's my kinda revamp of the character. How would you guys change her?

I always felt that Mileena was a tragic character who ultimately meets death by the end of her story arc. If we revisit her character I would love to just flesh out her role and her actions during the MK2 era because she was a major player during that timeline and the games never really fleshed out her character until MKX. In the reboot she was just sprung to life and automatically called Kitana sister, that is not the way I remember Mileena who was a much more layered and complex character than he depiction in the MK (2011) reboot. So unfortunately I would wind up killing off Mileena and not revive her but I'd make her one hell of a character. She would be a tragic and sympathetic character but her hatred is what leads to her downfall.

If I were to re-create the MK2 plot line I'd feature Mileena in that game's story mode heavily. I'd basically treat each installment of MK as a season in a TV Show because the mythology of these games have so much potential and they're constantly cramming in loads of material to try and fit a 6 hour long plot. If I had it my way I'd have each storymode be at least 30 hours of gameplay and cutscenes to tell one hell of a story and you get to play as every single character and not see the game's story line from only one perspective. So for my story's purpose I would have never had Kitana even step foot on Shang Tsung's Island because she was in Outworld with Mileena as an assasin for the Outworld Empire.

So Mileena, to really get the most of her character I would start her off as an ally of Kitana's. A perfect example of their relationship would be akin to Gamora and Nebulla of Guardians of the Galaxy. Shao Kahn in my storyline wouldn't be this brute who only swings a hammer. I'd have him also be super smart and cunning but very manipulative and downright evil. Shao Kahn would treat them both Kitana and Mileena as his daughters and had raised them as his own. Their purpose in his empire is to be two of his most deadly assassins. Shao Kahn would clearly favor Kitana in her beauty and constantly remind her that she's a striking image of her mother and that she has the potential to rule his empire when he is gone. Shao Kahn shuns Mileena but praises her on her strength and she is not fit to rule. When any uprising to Outworld's empire whether by diplomacy or by war he would send Kitana and Mileena to stealthily assassinate any political figure who could unite the different clans of outworld to rise up against. Depending on the type of political figure he'd send in either Mileena or Kitana, when it's a complicated mission he'd send both. I'd go through the storymode and introduce both Kitana and Mileena on one of these missions and have them exchange friendly banter and constantly try and out-do one another. Kitana always shows off that she is the superior fighter and I would have her come off as somewhat arrogant, it would be her meeting with Liu Kang who changes her throughout the course of the story.

Kitana and Mileena wind up getting information from Kintaro that king Gorbak might be pleased with Kintaro being represented well by the empire since Goro's death in MK1, but there would be warriors in the Shokan who still want blood and would plan an uprising. Shao Kahn knows that this would eventually be a problem, so he would send in ambassadors of the empire to the Shokan kingdom under the protection of King Gorbak but he knows that these potential up risers would attack that embassy and it would be an opportunity for Kitana and Mileena to take them out. I'd use this event as a way to show off more of where Goro comes from and more on the culture of the Shokan. The ambassadors would have Kitana speak on behalf of Shao Kahn and be escorted royally with Jade as the Empire's royal guard with and Mileena disguised as one of Kitana's handmaidens. This would allow you to see the dynamic between all 3 of the female ninja characters and how Kitana and Mileena view each other before the events of MK2. Not to get into full detail but both Kitana and Mileena would be successful in their mission with the Shokan attempting to kill the ambassadors. Mileena would use the distraction to kill the main perpetrator of the attack and they return back to Shao Kahn to report what happens by tossing his head at Shao Kahn's feet with Mileena's Sai sticking out the back of the head.

Shao Kahn would praise Kitana for her bravery in putting herself at risk and would not give Mileena the recognition she feels she deserves. You could tell this isn't the first time this has happened to Mileena. Mileena waits for Kitana and Jade to leave and pleads with her father that she is worthy for more. Shao Kahn tells Mileena he is on the brink of creating his vast empire across all the realms and that he plans on having Kitana rule. Mileena gets frustrated and says that it was her who has more blood on her hands and she did it because she loves her father and his Empire. Shao Kahn would tell her she isn't fit to rule and ends the conversion. I'd then cut to a scene of Mileena in a rage, thrashing about her own bed chamber and she stops to look at a mirror, she has tears streaming down her eyes and she takes off her mask revealing her Tarkatan face and then smashes the mirror. A maiden walks in and Milenna is on her knees crying screaming in rage with her hair covering her face. The maiden asks if everything is okay and Mileena jumps off of the floor biting down hard on the maiden's neck covering the screen in blood. Clearly shes killed plenty of people before and it's been hidden just like her face.

Next time you see Mileena the events of MK2 are underway. Shao Kahn holds a huge ceremony in his Colosseum. Here you'd see the chained up Sonya and Kano presented as enemies of Outworld and the crowd would throw trash at them. Shao Kahn would present his "Tournament to end all Tournaments" and then announce who his champions would be. You'd cut to the presentation of these champions and then to their backstory on why Shao Kahn chose them. To stay on point with Mileena when it comes to Kitana being annoucned you'd cut Shang Tsung in Shao Kahn's throne room and present to Shao Kahn how much of a threat Liu Kang is to their plans. Shao Kahn is standing over a chess board with cut outs of all the Earth Realm warriors and his champions and takes the Kitana piece and knocks over Liu Kang. The way she is kill Liu Kang is to make the Earth Realm warriors believe that she's on their side secretly while she also enters the tournament to represent Outworld. Shao Kahn tells Kitana when she faces Liu Kang to purposely lose to him so that she can gain his trust, isolate him from his allies and then finish him.

Mileena would be announced and her cut scene would be Shao Kahn summoning her to his Throne. He tells Mileena that he is worried about Kitana and that should she truly takes sides with Earth realm to kill her sister. Mileena is hesitant to accept but Shao Kahn tells her that he has thought much about their last conversation and that he hasn't been fair to her. He hugs his daughter and says that if the time comes and she spills blood for him again she will be the true heir to Outworld. Baraka, Kintaro, Reptile, and Shang Tsung who gets his youth restored at that ceremony would be Shao Kahn's champions to take on Earth Realm. During the ceremony scene Baraka would stare at Mileena as all the warriors get cheered on by the crowd.

The next cutscene would be Mileena disguised in a cloak and knocking on Baraka's chamber door. He opens and she lunges at him scratching his chest and give possibly one of the grossest kiss scenes in true Mortal Kombat glory. Baraka would tell her it's torture to not be able to touch her and play fiddle to Shao Kahn. Mileena would then tell Baraka that their plan is underway, Shao Kahn doesn't suspect a thing and reveals to Baraka what Shao Kahn wants her to do. She on the other hand tells him that she plans on killing Shao Kahn and they can rule Outworld together. Baraka would tell her that they must stick to the plan and that if it comes down to it he will kill Kitana himself. Mileena gets angry at what he said and tells him that she's been thinking of doing that for thousands of years, it's her duty to do it and all Baraka needs to do is do well in the tournament and have his men ready.

Long story short I'd have the events play out like this.

Kitana starts to trust Liu Kang, she understands his feelings of not knowing his true destiny after winning the first MK Tournament and not being there when the Shaolin Temples were destroyed and his Shaolin brothers killed. She relates by saying she never knew her mother or where she came from and that all she knows about her is that her father Shao Kahn loved her and Kitana looks just like her, all she knows is that she comes from royalty, but lives a double life as an assasin and can't tell what her future holds either.

Mileena would be basically a triple agent for her own ambitious reasons would be told by Baraka a conversation between Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn about how he's concerned that Kitana may learn the truth about Sindel and her true lineage. Shao Kahn would talk about the invasion plans that will happen in MK3. And that if Kitana finds out about her mother she may be a threat and shares with Shang Tsung about Mileena and his true feelings about her. Shao Kahn would say he plans on having Mileena kill Kitana and that he could never see her as his true daughter even if she is cloned from her. He even chastises Shang Tsung for even creating such a hideous creature. The thought that he has to pretend to love such an abomination like her is sickening. And it's revealed she was created just in case something like this would to happen. Mileena is truly saddened by the news and is filled with hatred, Baraka consoles her and tells her that he finds her beautiful and that it dosen't matter if she was created from Kitana because shes strong and a queen and that they will rule outworld after they kill Shao Kahn.

Kitana does try and go through with killing Liu Kang and Mileena intercepts her before she tries to kill him. Mileena would reveal to Kitana that they are both being used and that she needs to be careful. Mileena uses this opportunity to tell Kitana that she never was an heir to Outworld but that she is from Edenia, that her father was killed by Shao Kahn and her mother Sindel died because she couldn't bear living. Mileena uses this moment to gloat at how not special she is and she is nothing. Mileena would tell her it would be a pleasure to kill her and put her out of misery but Kitana still has her uses. Kitana needs to keep Liu Kang alive and feed the Earthrealm warriors secrets about advancing in the tournament and evade the attempts to kill them so that Shao Kahn would not be able to carry out his plans right away. She purposely does not tell Kitana about Shao Kahn's plan to invade Earthrealm or reviving Sindel. Kitana asks Mileena why she should put herself at risk for revealing all this to her and Mileena tells her that while their own father despises them, he brought them together and in some way she does see her as a sister.

Mileena meets with Baraka and tells him what she knows and that Baraka tells her the time is almost ready to kill Shao Kahn. Baraka knows that the Earth realm warriors are close to reaching the outworld champions in the tournament and they need to make their move before.

Towards the climax of the story mode at the Colliseum the Earth Warriors fought their way up and are ready to face the champions that Shao Kahn chose. Johnny Cage beats Reptile. Kung Lao defeats Baraka and lets his anger get the best of him he is about to land a killing blow but Liu Kang tells him to not give in to his own hatred, Kung Lao Spares Baraka. Sub-Zero fights Scorpion again, Scorpion dominates Sub-Zero and gives him his scar, but during the course of the fight Scorpion forfeits the match knowing it's not Bi-Han. The final rounds involve Sub-Zero to fight Mileena since Scorpion forfeited, Raiden to fight against Shang Tsung, Jax against Kintaro, and Earthrealm's champion to go against the Emperor himself which would reconvene the next day.

Shao Kahn starts to get enraged that the Earth warriors are still advancing and knows that Kitana is the reason. He notices her absence the tournament and that he demands that Mileena report her progress and summons her to his throne room. Knowing this is the perfect opportunity it is the perfect place to spring the surprise attack. Mileena gathers both Baraka and Kitana and like in their first chapter Kitana is to be the bait pretending that Mileena captured her and Baraka will land the killing blow. Shao Kahn talks to Kitana and confirms the truth about her family and requests for Mileena to kill Kitana. Before Mileena can act Baraka springs his attack and Baraka is about to land the finishing blow on Shao Kahn but out of nowhere Mileena stabs Baraka from the back through his heart. Baraka is clearly shocked and Shao Kahn tells Baraka that the Tarkatan are fools and that he knew all along what his intention are. He thanks Mileena for keeping the snakes off of his back and tells Mileena to finish him. Baraka looks at Mileena with sadness then hate and Mileena kills Baraka. His body slumps to the floor next to Kitana with tears in her eyes asks why? Mileena reveals the truth that once she's dead she's going to take her place at her fathers side and that was the plan all along. Kitana then says to kill her but Shao Kahn says that she is going to share the same fate with her new friends. Shao Kahn does have a moment with Kitana saying that he wishes he didn't have to go this route. Shao Kahn would reveal to Kitana that once Sindel died he held Kitana as a baby and planned on killing her, but just couldn't do it because she looked so much like his queen and kept her alive. He didn't think it possible to bring back Sindel and realized that he can't risk reviving his queen knowing that she still has a daughter because she will remember Edenia and will lose her. The guards take away Kitana.

The tournament continues. Jax loses both his arms to Kintaro and loses his match with Raiden stepping in to save Jax and spare his life, Raiden defeats Shang Tsung, and Before Liu Kang goes to fight Shao Kahn he brings out Kitana and the entire crowd boos her when they find out shes been a traitor to Outworld. Shao Kahn changes the rules of the match and summons Mileena to fight Kitana instead of Sub-Zero. Mileena goes up against Kitana and Shao Kahn tells Mileena to prove her worthiness as his true daughter. They both fight ferociously and Kitana starts to lose, but she eventually gets the upper hand and pleads with Mileena to yield or she would have to kill her. Mileena screams out "Father!" And Shao Kahn sits back in his chair and does nothing, Shao Kahn in disappointment looks down. Mileena looks at both Shao Kahn and Kitana and Kitana starts to cry too, as much as the two resented each other all they had was each other to compare themselves to, Kitana clearly shows that she actually cares for Mileena and in the end Mileena realizes that. Mileena essentially gives up her struggle and realizes she has no place in this world nor has any desire to live with the Earthlings as a hideous monster. MIleena makes her final move and Kitana beheads her. Falling down from exhaustion both physically and emotionally Liu Kang grabs her and brings her over to the rest of the Earth realm warriors then steps in to fight Shao Kahn.

Mileena's death is tragic, Shao Kahn knew that the tournament was a ruse and he knew that if Kitana won she would solidify her place as a traitor to Outworld. Mileena's death also prompts Jade to hunt down Kitana in MK3 or else she gets branded a traitor too.

Mileena in my eyes is a very crucial character but to serve the purpose of the story I think she needs to die during the events of MK2 with Baraka who had dreams of ruling for themselves, but it was Mileena's burning desire to be accepted by her father and emperor which led to her downfall. In a way the good guys were able to be successful in the tournament because Mileena was the one playing all the sides to her advantage. I'd want people to think that at any moment Mileena could switch sides but in the end her own plan backfires on her and ultimately she hurts the only two people who actually cared for her.

This was a nice read man. Not how I would do it but I really appreciate your creativity. I just hope they do her better in the next game.
