Im having more fun with the mobile game at this point

I'm tired of the dial-a-kombo formula. It's more about memorization than strategy. Why can't we get more fluid and dynamic gameplay like Street Fighter? MKX mobile is only a card game but I'm having more fun with it than the console version. It's an addictive, deep and rewarding little game that embraces good strategy.

You, my friend, are a masochist.

Don't get me wrong, the console version of MKX is great and I had a blast playing it. I just hope the next game has a more fluid engine and gets rid of the dialacombos all together. I guess I'm just sour due to some cheap online play recently.

Yeah I understand that, sometimes online people have these ridiculous combos that you just have to sit back and watch, MKX's cutscenes didn't even go as long as some peoples combos (especially scorpion)
But I definitely have more fun with the Console version

I've never minded the dial a combos. Especially the scaled back stuff starting with MK9. Its the 50/50 mixups that I feel are the most polarizing in this game. The guessing game can get super frustrating if you're playing someone really good(or cheap).

The 50/50s can be annoying but overall I love the gameplay. I also just wanna say your pic is great.

Haha, thanks.
I don't want to say I hate the 50/50 aspect of the game, but I do understand people's frustration. If you prefer a more defensive style of play, you are already at a great disadvantage in this game. It encourages an offense fest that is hard for some of the more measured players to deal with.
Exceptions exist of course. Pig of the Hut's Kenshi is impressive. Sonic Fox's Kitana is another good example...however I will say, whenever Sonic Fox looks like he's even in a hint of trouble, he hauls ass straight back to Erron Black. Not knocking him...just an observation.

did you really just say that you want mkx gameplay to be like street fighter? I mean really? Street fighter gameplay is slow, and boring. Dial a kombo? More like you can't combo worth a shit most likely. Like ive told you before if all you want to do is jerkoff to how bad street fighter is, go find a Crapcom forum and spill your guts of affection about a game that has been a pile of dogshit ever since 3. Hey if your lucky I'm sure they're gonna realease street fighter 4 hyper ultra alpha delta beta version, complete with 2 uninspired characters To milk you poor fans out of some more loot before the next disappointing release.I'm tired of the dial-a-kombo formula. This has always been MK's style for combos, so that's not going to change, and I personally like it a lot better than SF's.
Anyway, memorizing the combos is not enough to do well in the game like you seem to be implying. You can memorize the input for every single string your character has and that wont mean shit if you don't know how to defend and punish.
There is strategy involved too though, most of the time when I am at the character select screen I am doing some sort of strategizing. " Ok, he picked Noxious Reptile, I don't see that often and really don't know the match up but I do know he has unblockable chip damage up close, a very fast low hitting slide, and an overhead special that launches when meter burned, so ill start blocking low since the overhead's start up is longer and I can react to it, then ill lay down extreme pressure and try to take him out asap because my character cant beat him in a long range battle, and up close ill be taking constant chip etc etc etc."
So there definitely is strategy involved

Agrre, sometimes you can drop a combo and be penalized, or play like AndreGreat or Ray Ray, they use distance to his favor trhowing combination of abilities to make the other person makes a mistake, There's a lot of people that uses more distance than combinations

I agree that something needs to be done with Mortal Kombat gameplay in the future. To me MKX gameplay revolves around finding that one string combo that leads up to 32% combo damage. People can just string together the same boring combos and win the match it me brings this gameplay down, to me.
I wish this game has more strategy to it. Online , it is seems like people are picking power characters that you can easily catch you in a string just once and do massive damage.
As a Sub-Zero player, it seems like we have to put in more effort in setting up and getting a positive hit /miss ratio. I got destroyed by a Ermac player not because he was better , but rather he did this ONE mix up that lead to the same combo that did massive damage.
MK needs a deeper fighting system. Myself, I won't be happy if this fighting system returns in MK11. Also, I hope X-rays don't come back.
