I think the people who are working on the shaolin monks game are mostly different to those responsible for the main MK titles. I hope and expect that the guys who make the core gameplay engine are experimenting with some new ideas, and the graphics/audio/whatever guys are playing around with next gen stuff seeing what they can get out of it. I'd be surprised if we don't see another MK within the next couple of years.

they (midway) said they will release a MK every year alternating between fighter and action/adventure so a year after shaolin monks is out id expect MK7

ive heard that once b4 on a forum, is there any truth to that tho? if so give me link to where it says that. i just cant imagine them pumping out a MK game each and every year.

anyways the MK Team confirmed they will make a MK7 b4 MKD was even out.

and yes its the same MK Team working on Shaolin Monks as all the past MK's theres ever been.
