i think that for the next mk they should top trying to put in little mini games this is'nt mario party ok

next time around it should be all killer no filler no test your might, no test your sight, no krypt, no konquest, no puzzle kombat, and no chess kombat

secondary modes take up pointless space that could be used for more charactors or better graphics the first 4 mk games didn't have so many side modes and they were sweet so why should the new ones dont get me wron MKDA and MKD were awesome but they could have been so much more if it didn't have these stupid side games

what do you guys think

There should be a tag team mode, where you have 6-8 people online in one room and have the option to have an even 3 on 3 or 4 on 4.And have it work like UMK 3 arcade Endurance match,so i guess you can call it an Endurance mode.I want a Tag-team mode and a Endurance mode online!!!!!!!!!!Besides the regular Mortal Kombat mode.smile
same here

All I want is to fight, not play mini games.

Things like Tag
Character customizing
Stage customizing
Team battle
Story mode
time attack
Kombat = Infinite fights, like the Tekken 5 Arcade mode.
A good training mode
Online Play

Computer AI training would be good too (Ghost characters like in VF4 and Tekken 5)

Stuff like that, Fighting game stuff, not MKD mini games because I never play those. All I ever play is Kombat mode, or VS.

Agreed.

I never play Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat, and certainly not Konquest after I beat it and found everything I could find (before completely losing interest).

If the Mk team wants to make all of these minigames, then put them all together in a game that I guess you could call "MK Party" or something like that.

Me, I'm in agreement with the other posters on this thread. Any modes that are added on should ONLY serve to enhance the enjoyment of the fighting game, because, well, this is a fighting game damnit!

I sincerely hope that someone on the MK staff reads this thread and gets this message through to the rest of the team. No one wants mario party mini games in MK. We want a tag mode, a tournament mode (where you and your friends pick characters that are put into brackets and you battle it out until there's a champion), a create a character mode, a training mode, a survival mode, a time attack mode, etc etc. If the MK team can be creative enough and come up with modes that enhance the core fighting game experience, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, at least give MK fans and game players alike a bit more of a 1 player game than Arcade, versus and training. That was seriously weak. I don't have Xbox live, so MK:D got old, fast, without a mode to keep me fighting.

Good thread!

I think they should skip ahead on the games too and do what Soul Calibur and Tekken 5 did. Work on the costumes, weapons, etc...

Also, I would like the see another feature from Soul Calibur (2), I would like to see some characters from other games.

Someone unique, someone that's not even in a fighting game and is still badass (Not good guys, Mainly Bad guys). Like:

Sweet Tooth For Ps3

Ganadorf For Revolution

Pyramid Head For XBox360

Maybe alittle more for each console.

No. There are some modes that are worthwhile. A good konquest and and chess mode should stay. I'm not fond of the tag teams, since it's alost the same as one on one, nothing drastically different.

But they could really improve on the engine, and only then allow time for konquest and others. Btw, Mk is not Mk without test your might.

I rather enjoyed chess Kombat and Puzzle Kombat. Most Mini games in Fighting games are crappy, but those two were enjoyable even online. The real problem in Mkd wasn't in the mini games.....

who's pyramid head?

no no no
if mk is gonna have chractors from other games it is gonna be charactors like spawn sc2 was so awesome with spawn and i always wanted to see a fight between scorpion and spawn
pyramid head is a type of enemy in Silent Hill 2.

Like a zombie with a metallic pyramid looking head.

Look him up on Google image search.

Mini games that I would like would be.

Test your Might, that just never gets old for me. They could get more creative with it though. Instead of just breaking stuff, they could have other tests of strength, like bending a spear with the tip in your neck. If you mess up, you die.

Same with a sword to stomach.

Lifting something by a rope like a large net filled with rocks.

Something else could be to catch an arrow.

A pre set fight sequence against a gang. Like how the Cut scene fights in Shenmue work. With these you could have like 2 options for every little segment in the fight instead of 1 so the fights look different every time.

Another side game, not really a mini game would be a version of MK with all the basic modes, but it plays like Power stone, God of war, Naruto2, MK Shaolin monks Kung lao VS Liu Kang fight.

Normally I'd be against such an idea, but given MKD, I think this is a definite must. All attention needs to be focused on the next games story and most importantly, the fighting engine. Not having any mini games in there will give them plenty more time to perfect the other two things and could hopefully allow for a bigger roster in the game too. Also, the Krypt being skipped might also help. Any extras that take away from the time spent on the development of the story and engine really should stay out.

Well think about it. You want them to throw away alot of time working on mini game to be more specific on clothes, weapons and other little stuff?! You know how stupid that sounds? No offence lol. Anyway It wouldnt be so fun to JUST fight all the time, you need som other things to do too. Konquest was a good idea. They could both put minigames and better clothes, weapons, moves, etc. Again, no offence. Edit: Test your might/sight was cool. What was worng with it?
Who are you talking to?

I don't see why fighting all the time would not be fun.

That's the only thing I enjoy doing with fighting games.

For me the Mini games are what get boring.

Like Konquest, I beat it just so I could get the extra fighters and their costumes.

Puzzle was pretty addictive for like 2 days.

Konquest I played 1 time and beat it but never found interest to play it again.

whenever I play MKD I go straight to Kombat mode, or practice to test out some juggles.

Extra clothing and stuff like that is OK, but not very important IMO. I remember having just as much fun playing the earlier Tekken and VF games before you could change your fighters costume.

I still stick with the idea of having a Smash bros/ Power stone/ MK Shaolin monks style fight engine aside from the traditional fighting style like MKD, VF or Tekken.

That would be a side game I'd actually want to play a lot.

But everybody is different, some people love the mini games, others find them point less or a waste of time.

Like Devil Mode in Tekken 5 = a 3rd person beatem up game.

Most people find it to be a complete waste of time.

I would have liked it better if they just made a solid game like Shenmue and sold it separately.

Mini games are going to be in though, It's the trend now. It's like they can't make a fighting game without a mini or side game in it now days.

IMO, as long as they don't focus more on side games than on the main fighting game it's ok.

I say that because I haven't seen anybody do both well in 1 disc.

If they can manage to make all the stuff amazing, then go for it.

I thought Puzzle Kombat was fun. I could never win though. What's with them dropping like 50 at a time? How are you supposed to deal with that?

If they do another Konquest Mode, it should have replay value. Once you're done with it, it's a complete waste of space.
