Anyway I don't think so, I just see Triborg being some type of prototype cyborg Sektor hid away and programmed to activate years later in case something were to happen to him. That's all speculation tho.

In any case, no. Tri-borg isn't Shao Kahn. My guess is they're going by the comic for this character. Sektor had apparently made a "clone army" that he could transfer his consciousness into, or something like that. This is probably the last remaining prototype.

Just imagine if it was true thought. Combined with my own personal theory that Sub-Zero was still a cyborg(eyes shutting down in original trailer, mask that looks like a breathing apparatus, metal spine in the Revenant Sub-Zero costume), it would have been quite the twist.

A friend of mine originally proposed the theory that Sub-Zero was in fact Shao Kahn based on the armor evidence, the ice hammer, the "I will freeze your soul" statement...it was very believable.

Cyber Zero possessed by Shao Kahn - I say I give that 90% of possibility.

Chameleon - went nuts, disguised himself as Smoke and then accepted Lin Kuei to turn him into cyborg as it was originally planned. Then he stole all the other parts... 95%

Hydro...yeah I know but he is official in the webseries and fucking kicked Cyrax and Sektor's arses at the same time, some he is a beast and deserve a chance. Mayebe someone returned his head to his body after being fatalized and he wen't on revenge mission, but insted just found the parts and upgraded. 50% here. :D

Noob Saibot - hell yeah, maybe he managed to escape the soulnado partially, half dead and what not and then he finds himself in the Tekunin factory somehow and became the first cyber demon. That was the original plan of Sektor for Tekunin as I remember, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think so. So I vote for cyber demon Noob Saibot 99%, because of his popularity + people wanted him become cybernetic like his brother did so why not ;)

All these ideas sound cool but knowing NRS I am expecting a very dissapointing story about a rogue cyborg who just scanned Sektor, Cyrax and smokes data from the cyber initiative and now hates sub zero for some reason. NRS has taught me to expect the worst and hope for nothing!

But the crazy MK fan in me is hoping that triborg is somehow linked to noob I think noobs omission from mkx was just disgraceful he didn't even get a mention in the arcade endings like so many others (Shang, Jade, shujinko, taven, Sargon etc) even shitty Kobra got a mention in erron blacks fight intro!

Hopefully the story is something like noob seized a cyborg programmed it with cyrax's data, somehow made it copy smokes powers and sent it to take sektors head so that he could have sektors powers and all of sektors knowledge of the Lin kuie. Then he sends triborg after his brother sub zero to try and kill him and assume control of the Lin kuie for himself....... Hopefully but I am still betting on the mindless cyborg who somehow has everyone's powers story!

I was under the impression that it was a new character, designed to appease anyone who was pissed that Sektor, Cyrax, or Smoke were in the game, but instead of making them separate characters, taking up resources and such, they put them in one character.

Yeah, it can be new fighter, it's likely. But if you watch Sektor's ending in MK:A..the backup container body is more possible.

Thinking that he's either a new character, some sort of back-up cyborg or prototype, or he's Cyrax.

The reason I'm thinking Cyrax, beyond him having his moves, is that it would probably be easier for the Lin Kuei to re-purpose a cyborg who already survived the fights in the last game and has proven more capable than the gray drones we saw in MK2011. With the enmity between him and Sektor, I could see Sektor using him as a guinea pig for experiments. With Sektor's untimely demise, Cyrax's transformation may have been incomplete and so he's collecting files from Sektor's head and who knows what else to complete himself.

Either that or he's entirely new. Obviously he's involved in the Lin Kuei somehow, and the fact that we usually see him with the gray scheme probably still indicates that he's a prototype or secret design that wasn't finished. Cyrax, Sektor, and even Smoke had paint schemes as cyborgs, so it is a bit odd that this one is drab gray.

lol I was wrong, actually Noob wanted to create cyber demon army! I'm 100% convinced that the cyborg is Noob Saibot. They are capable of doing that to him, like they made him original Sub, now they'll twist his story even more and make him more interesting.

So yeah, they can twist that shit over and bring in Noob ;)

He's a none canon cheap fanservice gimmick character.

Not that I can tell. Last time we saw him in MK2011, he fought with Nightwolf during the Lin Kuei ambush before Sindel attacked. Nightwolf knocked him down, and made a comment about how "mere speed and skill will not win this war" before going on to fight Sektor. I don't recall if MKX mentioned Cyrax at all.
