how do you guys feel if the next MK had a create a character section like many of the new games coming out do??? I think it would be pretty cool but some problems would come up. For instance,,, how would you pick your characters figthing styles???

I think it would be a very cool option even considering the new online version of MK. With the problem with picking the fighting styles, i think a cool option would be that you get to pick from every fixed, characteres fighting styles, and you have their moves... What other suggestions are out there and what do you guys think????

i would think it would be cool for a create a character, i think it should be somewhat like sf:tos' where you pick they're gender, body shape, skin tone, eye colour, hair colour, hair style, clothing, etc. and have the krypt having box set's where you unlock other features... could be good.

but fighting style... i would think it would be better if you could choose which moves from styles you can have, with the maximum being twenty moves per style (since thats the maximum you can have in button combination of attack1-4 + directional button), sorta like how the style of mosai was created.

though i still think it is a bit TOO early to start spectulating now.

I think for create a character mode for fighting styles it should depend on your alignment. For example, if u pick Ninja spectre your fihting styles should be hapkido, moifah and u could choose yor weapon style.

I think that in the next Konquest mode, before you actually get started in the actual Konquest game, you must create your own character who travels the realms and fights different characters to learn new moves and such.

I don't think create-a-character mode should have it's own mode on the main menu. It should be incorporated in another mode so it don't detract from the main game.

I agree with the suggestion about customizing kombatants which already exist.
Scorpion, for instance, would wear his primary apparel set which would be the updated version exclusively for the game itself, then in a similar aspect as the Krypt you could unlock his classic costumes (original Mortal Kombat grin, Mortal Kombat II, Ultimate Mortal Kombat III, etc.).
You can then mix and match his head, torso and pants at will. Looks like a great idea in my mind. wink

Yeah, I've been pushing for this idea for a while now. I think that fighting styles should be available in blocks (in other words, no picking and choosing moves from fightin styles, since that wouldn't really be a style). I think players should be able to choose styles based on a ranked system. You get so many points to choose your three styles. Styles that are stronger cost more points to select. So you could have one of the strongest weapon styles, but you'll most likely have to chose a somewhat strong fighting style and a somewhat weak fighting style. This would hopefully ensure that while players will be able to find the best combination of styles, they won't be able to use the best styles and make some uber powerful/uber cheap character. Of course, assuming that the MK team would be able to discern the powerful styles and cheap styles from the more balanced styles or weaker styles would take some trusting.

I think that players should be able to create their own characters from scratch. I'm talking race, eye color, hair style, facial features, clothing symbols, tatoos, and hundreds of clothing styles from shoes to pants to shirts to sashes to ninja colors, to hand accessories etc etc. We should be able to create as many characters as we want, so that we can make our own creations that we like as well as characters that MK7 does not include. We should be able to create their story (including background pictures to place them on) as well as endings (also with background pictures to place them on). Fighting styles and special moves should be taken from MK:DA, MK:D, MK7, 3D updates of past moves from the 2D era as well as new moves made specifically for created characters. All of this should be unlockable in arcade mode, a survival mode, a tag mode etc and utilize the kurrency system as well as the krypt from the last few games. Players should be able to wager coins as well as create items online.

If this sounds like a lot of stuff, that's what it should be. There should be well over 1,000 items available, and this should be the one and only extra mode for players. No MK chess or anything like that for programmers to waste time and resources on. There should be Arcade, VS, Survival, Tag battle, the Krypt, Practice mode, online fighting and create a character. To me that seems like something do-able. I say, if they're going to do it, they should do it a hundred percent and do it right. I don't want to open up a pink costume for Li Mei or a hat for Kung Lao. That's not worth playing to me. Leave the minor tweaks to VF and Tekken. MK should take the create idea and make it their own. Take it to the next level and do something really unique for fighting games. It's the hallmark of the MK series and anything less would be somewhat of a dissappointment. Just my opinion.
But I'm all for it.

in the memory of my late brother...'s MKO account, I shall agree with him: you start off in a konquest mode, you pick your BASIC race (no vampires or robots until later) like tarkatan or human or shokan. you pick one natural hair color and how long it is. eye color, skin tone, and other stuff are also selected here. then you select your spawnpoint (Japan, Edenian citadel, Outworld plain, LA, NY, 1st plane of netherrealm, China, and so forth). you also start with a really crappy generic fighting style. you go around and train with masters to learn better styles (depending on your spawnpoint) or you could just level up your generic style. as you level up, you gain new abilities, special moves, blah blah. you can pick how ou use your fighting style (defensive, you block better, have more counter attacks, etc; or offensive, you have more combos, penetrate blocks better, etc. you could be fast and speedy with cat-like reflexes, or stronger and hit harder, throw farther). also as you level up, you can change your costume, hair style, blah blah. you can use your character online and since you have to go through the game to get all of your moves, n00bs have to use at least half of their brain to stand a chance. fucking buton mashers
