well i'm guessing it was intended to be a secret but they went ahead and showed us. You probably access it by doing variationless.

Seeing as how they stated Triborg has no universal specials, I imagine that there is no variationless version of the character that is selectable, I am guessing this is how you select Cyber-SZ, do what you would normally do to pick the variationless version, and you play as him.

Is it No Variation or a 4th? All have distinct specials, what would NV get?

If it's a 4th, I still say Mileena should've got an amulet weilding variation, with amulet blast move, n a draining one for the capture move.

It is a no variation since Tri-borg does not have any shared special moves. All variation have different special moves.

My guess is that he's simply a 4th variation. Not a secret, but no one knew they were doing it until today, and it was their way of saying "Surprise! Tri-borg has a 4th variation!". Though that kind of eliminates the "tri-borg" aspect since he has 4 variations. Of course, Tri-Borg is a better name than Quad-borg....

That's no-variation Triborg, the grey robot we saw on his reveal trailer. It looks like the Subby version is somehow selectable as a fourth variation (down, down, Y?) or as an alt. skin or something. No idea. Very much doubt it is the no-variation one, though.

Now they need to add Baraka, Rain and Sindel and the hype would be really REAL! ;)

Yeah he isn't the no variation, im just saying thats probably how you select him, the same way you would the no variation but since triborg lacks universal specials.

As for it being non-canon, probably. Though I imagine if Triborg managed to get a hold of Robo Smoke's powers/tech when he never even existed in this timeline, I don't see why he couldn't also get Cyber Sub's too.

Adding Sindel, Baraka and Rain only a variation. What would be simple.I would do that too with Frost quite easily. She though independent character, function as a fourth type variation of sub zero.

He won't be. I'm positive that at least one or two cyborgs WILL reappear in the next game, but Tri-borg himself likely will not.

I agree. He is likely to only come back next MKT / MKA. Still, as Chameleon / Khameleon, I bet he is canon.

I'm really happy to have Cyber Sub-Zero back. Nobody saw him coming. He was a total surprise. That kind of thing hasn't happened in MK for a long time. Very nice fan service, IMO.
