....what the heck did I just see? I am utterly amazed. That was such a deviation in look and style, and I LOVE what I see so far! I think Professor Ahnka described it best, at least for me: this feels like Deadly Alliance when it was revealed: so different, so fresh, and so serious compared to the past entries. I am loving how the look of the characters and costume models are more serious and realistic now...THESE costumes are what Kombatants should look like. And the backgrounds, love them so far. Mysterious, intriguing, and not over-the-top like the last entry. I didn't really care for MK2011 because to me, well, aesthetically it looked kind of ugly to me. This is just beautiful so far.

I think I am really digging the female character.

One thing is certain: they are definitely NOT from Earthrealm. Are we seeing the return of the other realms here? I could easily place her as coming from Chaosrealm. Both her and the big dude, actually.

The more I think about it, the more this rings true. The designs of the new characters are very much like Deadly Alliance. Completely from left field and not what we're used to at all.

Given I stated in the other thread I'm disappointed about the characters looks, I won't write them off. I'll keep my mind open as what I've seen with the mysterious blue man, Scorpion and Sub-Zero I really, really like.

I'm wondering though for these drastically different looks, might we be getting introduced to new races? New realms? New gods?

It certainly seems like anything, at this point, is possible.

People that don't like the new characters are two things. First, rushing to judgment, you have absolutely no idea how these characters play, despite having shown some very interesting moves.

Two, jaded by the years of shitty-ass, mundane, muddled characters that were likely born from all kinds of financial, technical and time restrictions. These guys fit right in MK. MK is bat-shit insane characters. These are the characters that come from unleashing the team. Letting them create characters without having to worry about all the restrictions of a dying company or old hardware. Fuck yes to this!

More insane monsters, hot-ass chicks, bad-ass ninjas and sorcerers! MORE CRAZINESS! MORE GORE! FFFFFUUUUCKKK YEAA!!!

Me too. That's what I loved about Deadly Alliance, it was a game that was determined to flip the series on its head and enter fresh new territory- it was NOTHING like the previous four games. That's what MKX is feeling like . MK9 I'm guessing was a sorta send off to the past, one last final hurrah, and this will be the true rebirth of the series. I welcome the change.

Nah, it has the new, fresh feeling of MKDA mixed with the darkness of MKD. MKDA wasn't all that dark but it was a new direction for the series, and MKD was just very gritty. Combo of both here in my opinion.

For all I know, I was guessing that it was just a character we saw already and he was just lying out his rear end. But man, already complaining and saying that you're not even getting it. Please, go away then.

I don't wanna be a hater, but I'm not impressed at all.

Game play looks stiff and like Injustice.
Kudos for the Fatalities (so far) They look great and deep!
I was hoping for realistic graphics MK, MK 2 & MK 3 style.
The Giant and the midget look like the boss from Vendetta is you played that game on the arcades :D

I was really hoping for great improvement on the graphics! Wtf ? I thought this game is on the next gen consoles. Looks the same as Injustice and the old MK to me.

Anyway when I see more footage I hope to be more impressed. So far - been there done that.

You can't forget about the ones who claimed they were leaving after the debut trailer for MK9. If I remember correctly "Characters looked too cartoony"

Btw, given how the left characters seems to initiate and end the entry conversations, I think we might see 2 variations of conversations between each 2 characters which would be nice (and a lot of work, that could mean around 600 different dialogues or more depending on roster sice).

Sounds like "our", which I assume refers to Bi-Han and Kuai Liang.
It's funny, because when Ed tweeted that dialogue a few days ago, he must've mistakenly put it as "my innocence."

They both sounded like scenes from Story Mode, to be honest.

Did anybody else notice Wasp Lady petting the giant grub sitting on her arm? Fucking love that shit.

So Scorpion can do a Hadoken now.

I am really impressed by the amount of special moves we saw in that trailer just between Scorpion and Sub-Zero alone. Scorpion had a whole slew of new stuff.
