Ed Boon confirms balance patch **coming Oct 4th!**

Today, Ed Boon confirmed (via Twitter) that a new balance patch will indeed be hitting the game soon. While no actual date was given, the target is to launch the patch alongside MKXL on PC(marking the first time both console and PC versions will receive a patch at the same time).

Also revealed, NRS is planning a Kombat Kast to show off the new changes to the game. Once again, no date or info was given outside of "it's happening", but, hopefully that will change in the coming weeks.

This patch continues an already unprecedented level of support for an NRS Fighter, including two Kombat packs, a new arena, a plethora of costumes, and updated netcode. The once abandoned PC version has also been given new life in the form of the MKXL beta, and the announced release for MKXL on PC (Oct. 4th). What the future holds from here is uncertain, but the ever cagey Ed Boon has still not flat out killed hopes for a Kombat Pack 3. Could new kombatants be on the horizon?

This is great news for a lot of players that just put the game down after EVO. How do you hope this new patch will effect your favorite character, and the meta at large? Sound off below.

I'm stoked.

Reptile is solid all around so I don't foresee any buffs in his future although I'd personally love it if they reverted the changes they made to his increased recovery frames on Invisibility during blockstun. That and ex gas not going away on hit in Noxious would be great. As for Bo, just give him something that helps his neutral. Be it walk/run speed, better mids, faster strings or, and I'm dreaming here, but a universal projectile would be amazing lol. Other than that, just normalize the top tier's retarted stuff and I'm set. Cutthroat, Piercing, Takeda and Alien overall are a bill.

I just want buffs for Unbreakable. I think he got most requests for buffs so I am certain it will happen. The question is, what kind of buffs will he get? His buffs so far have been mediocre at best. At least they should make his parry move work on overhead moves and reduce recovery

That would be fair. I also think when ice aura is active, he should get a free ex slide(like when Kitana has sharpen active and gets a free ex assassin strike). That would cut down on the variation's already ridiculous meter dependence.


RANDOM FIXES OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD(!)-

Anti airs across the board need buffs.

Nerfs need to be more consistent across the board. No more nerfing one hard to blockable(Quan Chi) only to allow another to rise through the ranks(Takeda). No more nerfing an overpowered move(Tremor's up rock) just to hand it to another character(Sektor's up rocket). If it's unfair for one character, than its unfair period.

Invincible frames for wake ups. I believe this could help reign in the overwhelming pressure based meta we currently have and force people to be more measured in their approach.

Female hitboxes need to be normalized.

...more as they come to mind.

They need to show Goro some love. I never fight a Goro online.

My hope is that like other patches they sneak in more content

List Brutalities after we preform them and give them a pic in the Kollection.

2nd Costumes for DLC Kharacters (I understand none for horror Kharacters)

MK: Deception costume pack

Give everyone the same amount of Brutalities

Add more Stages Fatalities

Reward players for hitting rank 25, 50, 75 & 100 by making Baraka, Sindel, Rain & Corrupt Shinnok playable (easy route just the Variation in game)

OR just announce KP3

I'm going to go ahead and be selfish and just hope that Tremor gets his up rock returned to how it used to be, make Shinnok's Necromancer variation more viable and improve all Goro's variations.

I also want at least one more Shinnok skin. Something more regal perhaps? Either way looking forward to the patch.

Looking less and less likely we're getting a KP3 though. I guess those character polls were made with the next MK game in mind.

Speaking of brutalities, buff Reptile's brutality requirements please. 20% acid damage is fine, but 2 EX Puddles? Lol in Deceptive no less.

Universal stuff, female hitboxes is a big one. I'm fine with them having different sized models and slightly varying hitboxes. But not to the point where characters suffer from not even being able to do their basic BnBs (RIP Tremor) or oh my lawd getting low profiled when using SOLID MID ATTACKS. Drives me effing bonkers. If I successfully get some momentum going with a good knockdown, there's no reason I should lose my turn because I couldn't stuff a raw wake-up with a good mid. It promotes mashing in the worst way.

There are amazing AAs in MKX. Just....not every character has them.

I wasn't into MK9 on a competitive level. So did females have the same type of hitbox advantages in that game?

Yeah, could go either way. My first thought was, "KP3out the window", as in not happening. But, I'm told the gist of the meme is the boss throws the employee out the window, and then steals the idea...so, 50/50 shot I suppose(even the dlc is doing 50/50's in this gametongue).

Ed Boon confirmed today that the new balance patch will indeed launch aside MKXL for the PC on October 4th. The Kombat Kast covering the changes in store will air Monday October 3rd at 3:00 CST on Twitch!

Alien tail has a hurtbox now so that's amazing. Respect clone and crop duster please and thanks.

Fisticuff can now MB his fistibuff special.

Cryomancer now has a command grab.

Mileena raw roll no longer juggles for full combo. Must be meter burnt to covert.

Armor on EX Swipe gone on Reptile. Ex pounce still has armor but no longer launches.

CSZ F13~Ice ball connects once again and I don't think Cutthroat can make his OH safe anymore.

Overall, it looks like they're heavily shifting the meta of the game. Armored launchers are obviously being toned down or removed completely. Dunno what Lao, Goro, Kenshi, ect are gonna do, but I won't jump to conclusions just yet.

As long as my boy Scorpion (Hellfire) gets left alone or buffed and no nerfs I will be good. Actually all around buffs to those that need them and leave the rest alone really. Hopefully more Brutalities and Stage Fatalities!!! Oh and release a dlc for Gold Scorpion for the rest of us and possibly a small buy out for some costumes that you absolutely must unlock through online play for those of us that aren't winning that many matches anytime ever. Lol. glasses

Wow...from the gifs and hints that the NRS staff are posting, this patch is going to have a HUGE impact on the game's meta. 50/50's getting toned down? Armored launchers going away? I'm shocked by the sheer scope this patch seems to be shooting for.
