I see no problem with having 1 or 2 guest characters just for the fun of it, as long as they aren't considered part of the acual storyline or universe etc. Having a superhero from DC isn't such a bad thing, and anyone that says it's a terrible thing or they refuse to play a game with said appearance of an outside character just as an extra, needs to reevaluate why they play video games. These games are supposed to be about fun, and aren't meant to be taken so damn seriously, so inclding Batman and the Joker as extras or those of the like, isn't going to hurt anything. Besides, the problem with MK games as of late is NOT the characters, so just because you are jaded over the last game being a crossover, doesn't mean the idea of a couple guest characters is such a trivial thing that will ruin the game.

after a bit more deliberation....big sisters from bioshock 2 seem very...kombative. imagine the possibilities for fatalities....oh man. maybe even throw in prototype big daddy, or even a big daddy from the original as a sub-sub boss or something. give their drills the blood they've always desired...

yeah, i'm making me a sandwich

Huh, weird, I thought that I'd responded to this thread already. Guess not.

Well, like most other people, I don't want to see cross over characters or guest characters in MK games ever again.

BUT... If Ed Boon said "look we're going to have cross over characters/guest characters in the next game" I'd be looking to some older games and here's who I'd vote for:

Kim Wu: Killer Instinct
Jago: Killer Instinct
Xiao Long: Mace the Dark Age
Al Rashid: Mace the Dark Age
Aria Chen (Jade Dragon): Tao Feng
Lo Shu (Master Sage): Tao Feng
Reiji: Kakuto Chojin
Roxy: Kakuto Chojin
Sofia: Battle Arena Toshinden
Xavier: Eternal Champions

I know my picks might look a little odd, but I would honestly rather see cool characters from dead fighting games than super heroes, characters from non-fighting games and/or characters that have no business being in an MK game specifically.

I look at all of those characters and I could see them working in terms of MK. Sure, their looks might have to be changed and/or updated a little (and Xavier would have to become 3D grin

Beyond that though, I could see these characters fitting in to the MK universe. Some people say "Let's have MK vs Killer Instinct!" Well, that could be partially cool, but I don't want a storyline to try and reason why Sub Zero is fighting an ice monster or a werewolf. Now Jago and Kim Wu on the other hand, they're much better fits in to MK's look and style.

See what I mean?

So yeah, I'd still vote no on guest characters or cross overs, but if we HAD to choose, I'd want to see some cool characters from some old fighting games get a second chance. Of course, most of those games were so poorly received that the characters barely got a first chance. None the less, I dug their designs to the point where it would be cool to see them again, and lord knows that games like Kakuto Chojin and Eternal Champions will never see sequels.

That's the only way I'd be okay with seeing guest characters. Otherwise, forget it.
