MK9 had 16, MKX had 12 so thus the question; If MKX had 4 more story chapters, who should've gotten them and why?

In my humble opinion;

Kenshi - Because I'm biased but also because we could've gotten more flashbacks of Takeda and more possible action in the Netherrealm with more potential for more screen time for cameos like Sareena and the other revenants.

Mileena - More screen time for the Outworld Civil War as well as potential for more Outworld character cameos, maybe even a Skarlet cameo.

Erron Black - Because he hardly had anything to do in the Story Mode, this would've potentially given him more substance as well as more insight in the Outworld goings-on with more flashbacks to Mileena being dethroned.

Kitana - A look into the minds / actions of the revenants and more of an insight into how threatening / menacing Shinnok can be. Can provide flashbacks to the Earthrealm invasion with more potential for cameos there.

Story Mode is told from the perspective of the good guys, so I don't agree with Kitana or Erron Black. Kenshi I definitely agree with, though - a) because he deserves to be more than just a punch bag, and b) because how his Possessed variation came about should have been explained. How did his sword shatter? Why is there a demon helping him?

Ferra/Torr- The only purpose they served was muscle during the story mode. NRS could have easily pulled off a flash back sequence showing them in the Tarkatan Wastes/how they met Kotal Kahn. I also wish they went more into the "Symbiotes" as a species, but we only got ONE little phrase from Kung Jin.

Reptile- The guy finally has a fucking title thanks to Kotal Kahn, but NRS would still prefer him as a punching bag. I honestly feel like he could've had a decent chapter where he was the threat, and having a field with the newbies.

Erron Black- I feel like this one is obvious.

Kenshi- Not really much to say either, but Kenshi could have had a chapter dealing with the "possession" variation.

I am surprised Kenshi didn't have one. I am (No offense Kenshimaster) not even a huge fan of the guy but I felt like he really should have played a bigger part, or at least kind of was there more lol idk, it seemed like he was there in the beginning, and then kind of disappeared except for the Takeda part and when Scorpion fights him at the base.

Kotal Kahn also happened to have a story mode chapter, so Erron Black and Kitana would work considering they're either neutral at best given the circumstances or simply brainwashed. The argument could after all be made that Kotal Kahn does turn into a semi-villain of the piece yet you get a chapter dedicated to him.

If we got a chapter for D'Vorah, I don't see why we couldn't have a chapter for Erron as well.

I was surprised that Kenshi didn't get a chapter of his own. Same with Mileena. Granted he was working with the heroes, Kotal wasn't necessarily a good guy either and he got a chapter. It would've been cool to get too see Mileena's side of things as well.

It would be interesting to have seen the revenge against Kenshi Daegon (which appeared as NPC non-player) in his act. He could face Kitana, Kung Lao, Goro and the very Daegon (which picks up the gameplay a variation of Liu Kang).

Similarly Rebellion Reiko an act focused on Mileena. Or her escape, and she managed the amulet. But we would need an argument for it not kill those it defeats itself.

The last character that needed an act is Li Mei trying to save his village from the Civil War. But she does not entered the game.

Mileena.

Really that's the only additional chapter I would find necessary. There are a number of ways they could have gone about it too, maybe even a flashback to when she was first overthrown. Instead of being a short scene in someone else's chapter, they could have done an entire chapter about her time as empress to elaborate more on it... This would have been especially nice if it was used as a reference point to show that Kotal Kahn was in the end no better.

I'd put a Kenshi chapter between Jacqui's and Cassie's.

A few months back I had proposed the idea of chapters that filled in story gaps...i.e. "flashback" chapters. My preferences were:

Sub-Zero - becoming Grandmaster, defeat of Sektor and the eradication of cyber Lin Kuei

Scorpion - exorcising the curse of Scorpion from himself with Kenshi's aid, i.e. the resurrection of Hanzo

Kenshi - Possession storyline (what is the story behind this variation?)

Mileena - the road to insurrection - an attempt to make her almost a sympathetic character

Kano - legacy of the Black Dragon (give more insight to his character, and his "soul of a dragon")

Erron Black - probably the least developed new character outside of partial-canon elements from arcade endings

Good pulls there. Sub was definitely a missed opportunity and they easily could've thrown in Sektor as an NPC. A Scorpion/Kenshi dynamic would've been cool to see as well as more emphasis on characters like Kano and Black.

D'Vorah is a good guy? Kotal is a good guy?

Only relevant characters got a chapter, Erron Black is a purposeless lackey and no amount of story chapters will change that.

That's a Daegon thing. Kano could never fully undersand the Dragon power.

Would have loved a Kenshi storyline where Daegon whoops his ass glasses

Mark my words: Daegon is going to kill Kenshi or Takeda in MK11, once and for all

Or Vice Versa. Kenshi or takeda kill off Daegon once and for all. Because he killed Takeda's mom.

I sincerely believe that Kenshi kills Daegon already in Year II of comics.

What is something that should have been shown in Story Mode.

Kano - we could have had a whole chapter showing how he fought through Raiden's wards (and some guards) to get the Amulet for Mileena.

Tanya - not only should she have been included from the start, but seeing as she got knocked on her ass so many times during the story, it would have been good to have her win a few fights to prove she's not entirely useless, and also see her perspective regarding Edenia.

Erron Back - a chapter on his "mysterious past" might have actually got me to like him, rather than seeing him as a waste of roster space with crap fatalities.

Shinnok - hey, why not fight as the big bad? Why couldn't he win a few fights in-canon? He is supposed to be a huge threat, after all.
Quan Chi - because are we to assume all the time he was offscreen has did nothing but sit around in his unkept man-cave? For 20 years?
Goro - because why else is he even here? When the likes of NPCs Rain and Sindel get way more attention than the pre-order (BS) selling point, something is seriously wrong.

... However this whole past year has been nothing but crushing tragic marketing decision after another. It totally ruined the game. MKXL is the perfect opportunity for them to just come out and say, "This past year was a clusterfuck. Do-over guys, do-over. We'll make thing right this time"

But sadly they won't.
