Should he be good or evil?

If he goes good, he'll end up like Ermac. An evil dude turned good. He will hopefully be popular if he goes that route. I've always pictured him becoming like Ermac in a way (I think they should join forces, but not like Noob-Smoke, more like the Deadly Alliance)

If he goes evil, he'll be like Kabal. Evil to good to evil. I don't like that. That doesn't suit Rain. It suited Kabal though. I always wanted to see Kabal as a badass, but I want to see Rain good.

I read something on the Daves MK forums about what they should do for Rain. I think they should reveal him as the one who gave Jade the orb of tarkatan essence. I think they should do that.

Rain should most definetely be good because he never had evil intentions to begin with. He was just obeying orders. When he comes back he should come back with revenge set on his mind for what Shao Kahn did to him and his family. In doing so he will obviously be in support of the good side.

Why? He knows very little about earth, and since he grew up in a world full of treachery, I think he would be very distrustfull. If the only reason, then he would retain Kitanas rule since of lost honor, but definitely not becouse of he's good.

Would make no sense having him good, MK is quite idiotic when defining good and evil. A pity.

Who ever said anything about earth? Also Kitana and Jade grew up in the same world and struggled with their alliegence as well.wink

Lastly, no one just flat out said "Rain is Good." He does have significant motives to allign with the side of good though.

I won't really say Rain is good, but I could see him side with Edenia. I think Rain would want to repent for his past and help Kitana return to power in Edenia since Mileena took control of the entire army in Deception.

Here is a whole plot line I thought for Rain and his possible return in Mortal Kombat 7.

I think Rain will return if Sindel is assasinated by a character in Mortal Kombat. I say Tanya would be the one who kills Sindel so she could help maintain higher power alongside Mileena who wishes to become queen of Edenia. Jade would pretty much be all alone in Edenia fighting for the cause of the old Edenia that won their freedom from Shao Kahn years ago. Jade would gather only the loyal followers of Edenia in an underground faction to rebel against the new regime of Edenia. Jade would have very limited power over the vast army of Edenia and would be looked upon as a terrorist.

Kitana would be revived from her encounter with the Deadly Alliance, and during her absence her whole realm would be in such a state of peril that she would have to leave her Earthrealm allies and return to Edenia. The Earthrealm allies would focus on Raiden while Kitana goes off on her own.

I could tie Bo' Rai Cho into this plot aswell. Since Bo' Rai Cho was at the head of the united army of Edenia and Outworld, he would be blindly following Mileena who is disguised as Kitana. I think Bo' Rai Cho would learn of Mileena's true identity and before he could take action, Mileena would send a unit to kill him. I think Bo' Rai Cho would defeat the men who tried to kill him and he would slip away from danger and wander Outworld.

Mileena, who is thought to be princess Kitana would rise to power since Sindel's death and would have a tyranical rule over Edenia. From there, this is where Rain comes in.

Rain would be hiding in Edenia as a civilian in shame over his past deeds while working for Shao Kahn. Rain was thought to have been dead after he turned of Shao Kahn for Kitana's cause. Rain was thought to be dead, but in fact he led everyone to believe it and went into hiding, hoping to live with his burden and to never fight again.

Rain would save Jade's life after a battle in the streets of Edenia and give her sanctuary from the Edenian troops searching for her. Rain would bring Jade back to health and Jade would at first not trust Rain at all for his past when she finds out who he really is. Rain would assure Jade he was not the same man he was, and that he wants to get rid of the shame he had cast on himself. The only way he could see that is if he could help Jade in her cause. Jade would accept Rain's proposal because she is in desperate need of allies and that is where Rain's story starts.

In Outworld Kitana would meet with Bo' Rai Cho once again, but at first Bo' Rai Cho would believe her to be Mileena so he would attack her. Kitana would defend herself and during their confrontation Bo' Rai Cho would relize that Kitana is who she really is. Bo' Rai Cho would inform Kitana of Mileena's plot and how she now has control over Edenia and portions of Outworld.

Kitana would rise up to this and claim her position as queen of Edenia. Bo' Rai Cho and Kitana would travel together to Edenia and try to storm the throne room and turn her people to her side.

However, Mileena and Tanya had warped Edenia's citezens into believing what they say, and Kitana would be seen as an imposter trying to seize the throne. So Kitana would be considered a terrorist aswell and her and Bo' Rai Cho went into hiding due to a loyal follower to Jade and her faction who rescued Kitana and Bo' Rai Cho when they fled in the streets (Think of a new character). That is where Kitana would be reuinited with her friend Jade after many believed her to be dead. This is where everyone gets all the information they need and the game would start off as the faction fights against Mileena's regime of Edenia.

Um..what about neutral or unknown? Ever think about that??

Honestly, I think his alignment should be unknown though he should be against Shao Kahn.

I think to make his story more interesting he should be "Neutral" or "Unknown". That way his story can get more interesting and go in many directions. And at the same time, in can interact with other characters' stories.

My view of Rain is the same as Smoke's. He should be neutral to let his story grow. Keeping him to one side leaves him restricted and on the same path over and over, which kills a character. If he was more of a drifter, he'd be more unpredictible and therefore, more interesting.

I think Rain is a boring character and I wouldn't care if he didn't return.
