I showed this picture to my mom. It's awesome to hear the first thing out of her mouth: "Johnny Cage's daughter?"

Me: Johnny Cage AND Sonya Blade.

Mom: "He knocked her up before he died?"

Me: "No he's still alive."

Mom: "I thought he died in the movie?"

Me: "The movie and the games are two different stories."

Mom: "Oh. Well, what other mom would even know this stuff?"

Yeah that just happened. tongue

My whole family is into this. All thanks to my brother and I for starting our sibling rivalry, Sub-Zero vs Scorpion. To hear both of my parents talk about how different the game is from the 90s to now is awesome because they're not young parents. My dad is in his early sixties and my mom is turning sixty next year. Twenty years and we get this.

So you kinda have to be at least stunned to see how improved we've gotten and such just by looking back. That's why I love talking about this game with my parents. My dad just wants to know if Liu will be in it since that's the only character he knows the special moves for.

I have been the biggest champion of reasonable female character designs on this site and even I have no idea what you're talking about. They designed her "with their penises" because her arms aren't muscular enough? NRS has taken a giant leap in female character design this time around, please don't make us who support that look like crazy people.

That was amusing. All one has to do is watch any video footage of her in action. Her body is a Barbie, and completely absurd. D'Vorah is an insect, yet they slap hooker heels on her. Why would an insect wear high heels, let alone anyone of any gender in a fight? Please, try harder to argue against the notion that females in fighting games must always be a sexual object.

You know what the sad thing is? You make valid points about D'Vorah, yet I still feel like dismissing you because of your accusations about Cassie.

Really, you go so blunt as to claim NRS is "thinking with their penises" over Cassie's arm proportions? If that is the standard those that represent downplaying female sexuality are aiming for in gaming I'll happily oppose them. I'll admit MK9 went way too far, but lets not go Victorian here. Shall we conceal all the traditionally shirtless male characters in shirts too?

This looks like a case of "Nothing NetherRealm Studios do will please you" then.

You are saying the same thing people talked about during Mortal Kombat 9's development about the females. The "hookers with heels" argument. Cassie Cage lacks both the tits and the heels and people are still looking for excuses. Her arm, in a RENDER no less! You think people would learn from Sonya's portrait render...

Alright, so you said anybody can just watch a video. And I did. Because I really haven't paid attention to body details of the characters except Scorpion since he's basically plastered everywhere in MK articles and such.

You claim her wrist basically is the same size of her entire arm.

I can see her forearm getting thicker from the wrist up. I will say, yes it looks like it's all one size from far distance during the actual fighting, but that's just the view, when clearly you can see it's not the case in the pictures provided.

She looks like a Barbie? "Herpderp itz bcuz she blonde hurrhurr".
No.
Her body is fit. Athletic build, as a female would look if she had such an occupation, which means, she's not going to be fat. And just like real life, she's has a different body frame or limbs than other people. A simple Google search of fitted athletic woman or actual military woman (without gear) could also easily show you women closely resembling Cassie Cage's frame.

What I see here is an example of NetherRealm Studios trying to take a female character seriously due to all the shit they have gotten for MK9, assuming this is the case. You don't know me, but if you did, me not seeing any sex appeal to Cassie Cage is saying a lot. And that's exactly what people complaining about MK9 females (especially Sonya Blade) wanted, no sex appeal to the females, and now you have it...for now, depending what other females look like. With that said, I agree with the rest of the people who mention that her hair style makes her look more edgy/serious than norm.

The real problem that you failed to mention, the real problem about Cassie's character design, is her face, her eyebrows are fucking insane, and makes her creepy looking at times. That needs to be fixed.

I think her current look is perfect. It's a nice throwback to her parents, but also neat enough that it gives her some uniqueness. The hair is cool as well.

:'( I'll miss Sonya though. She's a favorite of mine. I also feel like people are overanalyzing Sonya and Cage's MK9 interactions. Johnny wasn't trying to rape her, he was just an oblivious fool, his flirting was harmless. But what was he supposed to do when Sonya attacked him? In MK the women are just as dangerous as men.

I hate rhetorical questions like this on forums, they're completely pointless. No one can answer them. If you can tell they've only released the new characters loading screens so far. There's an answer for you.

They haven't released loading screen with Scorpion either...but considering amount of renders with him, that were released earlier, it really doesn't matter.

There are indeed examples of respectable dressed women in fighting games. Not in Mortal Kombat though.

Except, y'know, the one RIGHT IN FRONT OF US in the article we're on right now.
Whatsup? no Sub-Zero wallpaper yet?

La fille de Johnny Cage et Sonya Blade. It's so cute!

I like the new render.

I've watched her video a few times since its release and I like it, Cassie Blade Cage has great moves and her fatality is perfect. I think this karakter might become one of my favorites.

I cannot wait for the new game. It will be a huge surprise.. story mode and everything else.

In the meantime, someone needs to konfirm a playable TANYA.
WHERE IS TANYA, the Dragon Kaller, femur destroyer and master of all the realms.

Tanya is overdue for a return in Mortal Kombat.

It's Cassie Cage she didn't inherit her moms name.

Cassies main costume is more of a swat-like look rather then Special Forces.
I'm thinking Sonya cheated on Johnny and slept with Kurtis Stryker.
Not sure how she got the missiles, but, she should have a mini missile launcher instead of the missiles coming outta nowhere.

It's Cassie Cage because at some point Sonya and Johnny got married. They didn't just have a kid randomly because they had sex once. And you can't be serious about the Stryker thing, not only is he dead, but that theory holds no water and is fucking stupid. "Out of nowhere" it's a missile strike, they are coming from a plane. Why must someone hand feed you all of this information?

If there'll be cutscenes of Cassie, how she goes to memory lane where it'll involve her parents.

Cutscene: She is trained under her parents at the age of 10 or 12?

Cutscene: Where her parents are in an argument with Raiden about having Cassie becoming a defender of Earthrealm. Sonya wouldn't allow it due to the fact that all of their friends are gone, because of him.
