So I only jump on to play once a week now days (to get the new premier tower) and I notice that my faction standing only drops by 1 sometime 2 ranks? This sort of indicates to me that no one really plays it anymore! What's online like these days?

Think they need to put a hurry up on kp2 if they want to breathe some life back into this game. Next year might be too far away for everyone except the hardcore fans!

I play it every day on PC. Recently, I got the chance to use a 4K monitor for a couple of days and WOW, just WOW. The future truly belongs to 4K gaming and MKX is the sweet taste of things to kome.

Also, the amount of faction war points still indicate that the game is far from being dead.

Can't wait for KP2. Hopefully Bo Rai Cho makes the cut.

Deader than disco.

At this point only KP2 can resurrect this for a little bit at least.

I don't get to play as much as I would like (sometimes not even once a week anymore :/) but whenever I do play I have no trouble finding people to play online, but its usually Friday, Saturday or Sunday and in the evening to night, when there is probably more players on anyway lol

I wouldn't say its dead though, there are still local tournaments and stuff being held and it would seem plenty of people are attending, so its probably fine.

Though I do agree about maybe bumping up the KP2 release, I think that could definitely bring back some people that may have put it down for a while. I realty hope they keep supporting the game, just keep adding and adding to it kind of like how Capcom did with SF4.
Not as dead as half the cast... tongue

This is Pretty normal in fighting games, only the most hardcore fans remain playing it constantly for the competitive scene, Casuals jump to another games and so On.

Dead on MKO? Of course. Died the second week.

Dead in general? No. I've never had trouble finding someone to play online, apart from problems resulting from the shitty netcode (matches disconnecting, too laggy, game semi freezing at 'opponent found' screen, etc). I think the patches keep things somewhat fresh.

Really don't know how i feel about KP2, probably won't be playing by then because the online is so bad. Playable for sure, but still bad. I'm always hesitant before I start playing because I know how frustrating its gonna be. Especially in ranked.

It's still getting tourney play so I'd say no. I'm not playing anymore though, online is too frustrating and there are other fighting games to hold my interest.

Not at all. I still play it several times a week, and unlike any other fighting game franchise, MK never really gets dull for me.

MKO is a horrible example to base an opinion of whether the game is dead or not, because no one here will ever be happy with anything. Overall, I'd say the sales of the game combined with the fact that it's still tournament viable and takes less than 15 seconds to find an online match shows that it's going strong.

The game isn't dead, but there is a very noticeable decline in people playing online. There are two reasons for this:

1. Other big games have either come out or are coming out soon. Games like MGSV, Fallout 4, Battlefront, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5 etc.

2.

I feel like the netcode is the biggest reason we don't have more people playing. Nobody wants to deal with that ass netcode.

Tbh yes. With SF5, Tekken 7, and new KOF going back to 3d. Mk is pretty much a dust collector for me.

lol

Game isn't dead at all. Like others have said, the online is holding it back. Although, since the latest patch, I've had surprisingly good results.

I still play it a lot, but less than before. I keep learning new combo strings every time, that's what keeps me coming back. I play offline / solo, I don't have the patience to wait for online matches, finally find one with a red or yellow bar, only to have the shittiest online experience ever.

I've been playing against MK's AI for the past 20+ years, so I'll manage fine with MKX. I love this game, and will stick around well after KP2 hits.

I still play it and enjoy it. I also rarely if ever run in to the same people in two different sessions of playing. Must be enough people still enjoying it.

Takeda's tower was the first premier one i missed. I just don't have the motivation to play anymore. I really want to play Fujin and Bo' but I fear Boon's trolling and I very much doubt I'll be wanting to spend money on MKX come early-mid 2016.

My regular weekly playing is usually split up across 3 or 4 days. I'll do the weekly living tower, and i'll usually jam through some ednurance towers with my favorite characters. Other times I will try to master combos and find new strings with my faves in practice. Rarely, I will go on line. I still neet hotshot johnny and rev kung lao. I've seen a few player-created rooms made just for that, but too often a troll comes in to screw up win streaks. You can usually beat most trolls because they're just being cheap, but it's annoying if you're at 8 or 9 wins in a row, and some chump comes in and corner traps you.

General etiquette seems to be to show your opponents that you don't have Johnny's hot shot outfit, at which point they will mostly allow you to win. Once you get it, you should job the match and allow a new person to rotate in. I don't give a damn about my rating.

As for Rev Kung Lao it's not that hard - just do your best to win 25 matches. The worst thing about it is finding people - no one has the patience to do a 2 match non-endurance type KotH anymore.

I mean I try to hop on a few times a week, at least to get the new Premier Tower and knock out a few challenges. When KP2 comes out, I'll play more.
