I did that too... when I was 7. tongue

Lol I still do, that's why there are only a handful of characters in Street Fighter I play as 90% of them look ridiculous to me hahahaha

I used to play Guile in Street Fighter but only because he has two special moves that were easy to remember and I didn't have to give it much thoughts.

I don't remember who I played as in SF4 but I didn't play much beyond doing arcade with everyone and a few sessions in versus. I think I liked Ibuki and Dudley.

In SF4 I like Juri Han, Ibuki, Akuma, Evil Ryu, Oni, Chun-Li, Ryu, and Fei Long (Even though I suck with him) lol but other than them I didn't play anybody else really, Sagat sometimes too.

I have always liked Kano. But if he would miss a game I would'nt miss him too much either. I would take Sheeva, Kabal, Sektor, Nightwolf over him any day.

I still to this day want to see a bold version of Kano.
Gameplaywise, MKX iteration of Kano is the best he has ever been.

Bald you mean? Like in MK3?

MK1 Kano will have shaved hair. Not quite bald, but barely there.

I've always liked Kano, since back in the day. I think NRS feels the same way, thus his recurring inclusions in spite of lacking support, generally speaking.

And objectively speaking, he's an interesting character visually; when you see the glowing red eye and metal plate, you attribute it to Mortal Kombat, albeit in a lesser level to, say, Scorpion and Sub-Zero (who, I think, have nothing on Kano in terms of aesthetics). He's a cyborg scumbag villain with a laser eye and killer knife skills: that's a uniqueness no one can take away from him, regardless of gripes against his story. And he's a Earthrealm villain as opposed to some supernatural outer-dimensional concoction, that's big points in my book (I love characters who represent any facet of human condition in a grounded way).

I hope I keep saying Kano in the future, although I'm really not sure how much longer they can realistically keep Sonya from killing him. She's almost done it too many times already. I think if he comes back, he'll have to run back to Outworld and find a story there that doesn't involve crossing paths with her again.

Never been a huge fan, but man is he badass in MKX. I didn't really expect him to make it out of all the characters, but i'm kinda glad he did. This was definitely the revamp that he needed.

That being said, I wouldn't mind it if he wasn't in MK11. lol

he'll be back for the next one. Same with the cagemeister. I think all of the mk1 cast will be in the next one. Maybe swap Shang Tsung for Sonya. Based on a few endings he'll be making a comeback, fingers crossed that him and fujin sneak in as dlcwow

Never was a fan of Kano, although I will admit I find his dialogue and comments in MKX to be humorous.

Also, I'm looking forward to Shang Tsung's return and Fujin being included as well! grin

Old thread, but whatever.

Having finally played MKX, Kano is still my number 1. I'm still learning his styles, but he's a hoot to play as.

Story-wise, he (unfortunately) hasn't changed much, but seeing him take on Kotal Kahn in a confined space was great. If his ending becomes canon, I could see a very interesting father-son dynamic plot. Heihachi - Kazuya anyone?

And yes: I wish to state, once again, that this whole "Kano isn't liked and has no fans" crap is still a crock of shit.

Exactly, if he was hated, why so many MKII rumors after his exclusion?
Why do people clamour to know if he's in each game release?
For a supposedly hated character, enough people ask about him.
Why do people hate his MK4 replacement clone, Jarek?

People love the original, the real deal.

People wondered if Kano would make MKX because he was with Quan Chi at the bottom of the character use stats.

MKX proved the stats are meaningless.

MK9 made me not care all that much Kano for the first time, because his story wasn't all that strong, and his moveset was utter crap. (No eye laser, that stupid half-circle to roll into a ball instead of the much superior [b,f,4] , kombos not that impressive. The only thing he had going for him was an unblockable Xray.)

I feel that MKX fixed those issues.

Never have i been not attracted to the sleazy hairy fuck-ball.

Wow, a revenant topic for sure, but after all this time since launch, Kano is still one of my regulars, and has always been one of my favorite MK characters, period. I'm glad he's still in the game with MKX, and I hope that he is in the next installment as well. Sort of like how MKX has made Johnny Cage my absolute favorite...I mean, he'd always been a favorite since MK1, but his personality sealed it in MKX...Kano's personality and interactions with other fighters just made him that much more endearing. He's a bad guy you love to root for.

I get the feeling they will introduce his son in the next game, with the Black Dragon maybe having a larger role. Maybe they'll reintroduce Jarek, Kira, and Ken...I mean, uh..."Kobra". Or maybe they'll create more worthwhile Black Dragon characters.

Kano's always been a fan favorite. I have fond memories of playing as him in the arcade days. I'd do the heart fatality in MK1, while other dudes would hang around and watch, until their grossed out mothers would pull them away from the room in disgust lol. The cannonball is such a good move, you can't not have that. It's like Scorpion without a spear.

He is just a cunning badass. If you loved Terminator there is no way you won't love this character. MKX did him well, I was actually shocked when he got announced but happy at the same time. The grappling style always suited him, commando is a great variation. It even got some new moves in the XL update. He has 3 great variations, a lot of which most characters have only 1 or 2. I can do some sick shit with cybernetic I didn't even know was possible. He's not even my main but he's the best I'm with so, basically he's my go to guy in any online match.

All he's really missing in MKXL is a kassic laser explosion MK3 fatality or MK1 heart rip.

I don't know. Kano seems to rather enjoy torturing Sonya. I don't think he would kill her. He's obsessed with her. In the old timeline he kept a strand of her hair that he ripped off in MK3 all the way into Deadly Alliance years later.

This time around It took 25 years for her to catch him and it's because he made the mistake of thinking he could go in the camp alone and talk business.

Kano wouldn't kill Sonya. If anybody dies, it's him. Would be cool if Kano spent the next game unplayable in a maximum security Special Forces prison while the Black Dragon go on a rampage. There would be the whole mystery of "who's leading them?" and Kano would toy with Sonya from his cell.

Kano went into the refugee camp with the plan of being arrested in mind : think about it.
He had both Kotal and Mileena as enemies, so he could no longer live in Outworld.
He had infos to trade with Sonya.
He is still alive and protected against his Outworld enemies.

I like Kano and I Hope to see him again in the next game.

Good point. If he does return, I can see him as a (possibly unwilling) ally for Earthrealm and the Special Forces.

Maybe he could use this opportunity to manipulate Cassie into hating her mother, perhaps?

I always liked Kano but I never play as him. I think he's a neat character, and I've never considered him a wasted roster spot, but looking forward it is important to note that he's been in the last 3 games. Maybe give him a rest in MK 11. And, at the risk of getting my head ripped off, perhaps reinvent Jarek as a Black Dragon option that's not Kano.

Although I personally would want Kano in every MK game until the end of time, I wouldn't be dissapointed if he was cut for the next game (well maybe a little, lol.)

A break from an installment can give characters a break and a chance to rejuvenate lest they suffer from overexposure, like a certain blue and yellow ninja...

Cutthroat Kano is my current main and has been for awhile. He's awesome and fun to play. The character has grown on me a lot more too. The man is just a badass survivor covered in knives and scars and fucks over everybody. Laser eye is a bonus. Plus he is an MK OG so he will always be cool. Could not give a fuck less about who his kid is tho, lame ending.

I believe that's true for all the main characters. If Kano is around in the story for the next game, pulling the strings of the BD but not actually playable that wouldn't be so bad. He has been in the last 4 games in a row (including MKX) and in order to prevent characters going stale they do need to sit out from time to time.

Johnny, Sonya and Jax could do with taking a break, too. Maybe even Ermac and Reptile since NRS barely know what to do with them.

Considering where the story is, Liu Kang, Kitana and Raiden are essential to the next game's plot - that means along with SubZ and Scorp there's enough old skool presence as well as room to bring back other returnees from MKX and farther back.
