IgroMir is a video game exhibition in Russia. This year it's taking place 1st - 4th October.

On fighting.ru it says:

Which Google Translate says means:

Don't speak Russian but that's definitely the rumor going around. I'm not gonna put too much faith into it but since it didn't originate from Boon, that's a plus.

Probably might just be glossing over what was in the press release. At most maybe a reveal of one of the four but I'm not expecting a full reveal of all four fighters.

My Russian is decent and the machine translation is okay. They will exhibit KP2 during the IgroMir event. Then there will be a tournament for MKX players.

they revealed quan chi at that event last year, so its possible they have a big reveal there.

Lol someone on TYM said pretty much the same thing. Either that, or just flat out reveal The Pit.

I wouldn't put a "walk-up" animation trailer circa KP1 out of the realm of possibility though.

Looks like those of us who wanted to be skeptical placed the correct bet. Found this on another forum.

Hm, disappointing. Oh well. They'll reveal it soon enough (and if it's the story characters i'm gonna /headdesk so hard I'll fracture my skull)

I have the feeling since it doesn't come out till 2016 its gonna be another crazy loooooooong ass time before we hear anything about it. And i mean everybody assumes JANUARY 2016 but for all we know it could be much later than that. Like April.

Do you guys think it'll come out all at once or one by one? Cuz its not like once they're done with one character they start on the next like the first kombat pack. they've had from August to at LEAST January to do four characters.

Well, IMO it would need to come out some time before SFV is out to steal some of its thunder. If you think about it, what would be the point of releasing KP2 after SFV hits when everyone will be busy playing that? I know not everyone loves SF as much as others, but it is the biggest fighting game franchise in the world.

Maybe they'll release it before March, here's hoping.

Then again, releasing heavy hitters and highly requested characters around SFV's release could help diminish the appeal of SFV to fans on the fence.

It might keep them playing for a few more weeks but I dunno. Even if it has Fujin I can't see myself playing it long term. The netcode is too trash and SFV's netcode was better in beta so yeah...

It's not that simple. Not only do they need a move set, but 3 unique variations, brutalities, two new fatalities, multiple custom intros, X-rays, and a win pose. They aren't even 30% done.

Doing the 3D model takes like 3 weeks. It's nothing. It's the simplest part of creating a character. MK uses a single rig for men and a single rig for woman. Just gotta make sure you 3D model fits the rig and that part is done.

Fun fact : The guy who did the base model for Kitana and Kung Jin said most of their asian features were lost while rigging the head and that it disappointed him.

Thank you. I'm so sick of hearing that the NPC's are basically finished. People take for granted just how much work goes into the finished product.

I really hope the NPC's don't play exactly like they do in the story mode, or even remotely alike, imo that would be absolutely terrible considering Rain and Baraka were direct ports from MK9. Like that would be a complete deal breaker. But still, from August to at least January 2016 is more than enough time to finish 4 characters. Whether they're NPC's or not.
Well NPC Tanya plays nothing like DLC Tanya, no doubt it'd be the same for Baraka and Rain/Sindel.

I think the only familiar thing would be universal special moves and two or three strings. Key Word familiar though.
