MK has always been known to pull inspiration from other things and/or pay homage to stuff, but I feel like MKX kinda did it a little too much. Like they didn't use enough of their own ideas or at least I would have liked to have seen more of them. The whole Shinnok story mode moments where he moved exactly frame for frame like Neo from the Matrix, Spartacus fatalities, faction mode and every character seemingly having their own army at their command ala game of thrones, countless other fatalities (kenshi's Freddy Krueger puppet master one, Reptiles acid puddle terminator thing, etc), Sub Zero's completely out of the fuckin blue game of thrones arcade ending, the list goes on and on.
