I doubt it will take that long. It's been over a month since Tremor has released and he was finished like two weeks before that. It takes a bit to make characters but not 5 months. We will get the first new character next month.

It will be interesting to see how soon after the release of this second wave of DLC they'll announce a Komplete Edition with everything in it and different box art.

People get the DLC really quickly and accuse the developer of withholding content.

People have to wait for the DLC and complain about having to wait.

Why? Because it's stupid to see people complain that we have to actually wait for something instead of getting things immediately and I would like to express how increadibly stupid that sounds? That's all we get from video games now and days. People these days are too impatient, we need everything handed to us immediately. They can't wait just a little bit for things to be made just right so that when they finally get released, it's smooth instead of buggy.

I'm sorry this site is filled with a bunch of sensitive Nancy's here, but for crying out loud, no one ever said anything about us getting these DLCs immediately. I think it's alright. It'll give time for the game to breathe, but if this article is right it's really disappointing that i'm not going to be able to play Fujin for 4+ months. Also only one arena? That's kinda disappointing because we already know what it is, and I wish there was an actual stage pack but it's okay I guess. Hopefully they announce the characters later today.

I don't think the 2016 news is true. It doesn't take that long to make the characters and the press release I've seen get quoted a few times has no link or proof of it ever happening.

Doesn't make a difference how many people are complaining, the fact that a complaint HAS to be made at all is irritating. Even if it's just by one person, someone HAS to find a way to throw a rant out and it's bothersome that they can't just be like, "Okay, they're giving us four character, I can wait." This thread started out as a complaint before Mick decided to turn it into one of his news articles.

These characters seem to be in the process of JUST starting out to be made, such as they have a model done and that's it. No moves were given to them, no voice has been handed to them, just a model and that's it. It takes time to create something and people cannot appreciate the amount of time that was given into this game. I can appreciate it however the same cannot be said for others.

You realize this is the first time NRS has kept DLC going for a game as long as this?? Something you should be grateful for! You realize that its not just a tiny update? We are getting 4 additional characters! That will make 8 total DLC characters for this game! More than any other game they have made! And that's not it, we are getting a new stage, probably the PIT which has been heavily requested! AND we are getting more skins as well. Probably more that people have been requesting! All things to be grateful for!

I am completely happy to wait until 2016. There are a lot of great games coming out between now and then that will take my attention, and then when this big DLC for MKX drops, it will reinvigorate my interest in it again!

I think people need to calm down. I don't believe the silhouettes are anything specific.... People just saw the image and immediately start guessing who the pack is, how soon it's coming, etc.

I get the excitement, but if you don't expect anymore than they give you then there isn't some high bar to be met whenever they provide whatever there is to share.

Given what we have, (some unknown quote that the pack will be out in 2016 + the silhouette image) all we know is that there will be more characters. People speaking for themselves should be a nonissue, there is validity on both sides as to whether a 2016 release wait is too long or isn't.

I mean who wants to wait until 2016 for DLC, when the game was released in April and there is obviously Going to be a Komplete Edition. That's my main gripe with waiting until 2016, there should be a good amount of time between the end of DLC and the Komplete edition, so that I don't feel stupid for not waiting.

So that there's more to look forward to with this game?

Face it, X died off pretty quickly. And now that there's something to look forward to, it'll keep people still on. I stopped playing for at least a month and a half. This announcement alone sparked an interest to the game for me.

I want the characters to be great and I just bought MGS5 so I have a great new game to play, still don't wanna wait five months. I'm assuming you meant "except you don't* know how developing characters work". No I don't know all the details but if four characters take over five months than NRS would have had to start working on MKX right after MK9 to make 25 characters plus 4 dlc. We know that they didn't though because they made Injustice and then moved on to MKX. I doubt the 2016 news is true so it doesn't even matter.

X died off, because a lot of characters in the game are nothing special and it's unbalanced. I see this DLC as an opportunity to make up for that. Knowing who it will be is a big deal, since there's a lot of rubbish characters who are not unique that I'm not even going to wait for.

The only thing that concerns me about a 2016 release date for this is the fact that they'll probably put another guest character (or two) in to bring attention back to MKX when SFV rolls around. I'm not a fan of guest characters, but NRS will more than likely need them to make this pack sell at that time.

For an NRS game, this DLC is coming rather later than what we've been accustomed to expect. But this may be a change in how they're doing post-launch support.

Why are people assuming this is the only announcement today?

Boon wouldn't have tweeted the "tomorrow?" picture, hinting at an announcement today, if the only announcement today was something that was already confirmed simply by him tweeting that picture.

There's a whole lot of work that goes into one character. Pack on three and that's a couple of months worth of work. You also have the team divided into additional teams to quicken the pace. We may have had Injustice come out right after the ninth, but who's to say that they didn't have a team already made to start working on X during Injustice?

The news about whether or not this gets released in 2016 certainly does matter. It shows how hard they are at working with this game still even after it's already been released to us. They could have just thrown in these DLC characters to us and just say, "There you go, enjoy." And they feel rushed, buggy, horrible to play, and just sloppy. With them having a preferred release time, they can work as much as they can before releasing it to us.
