Okay, call me completely biased as Im an heavily into Vampirism but..

Am I the only one who desperately wants to see Nitara return?

The Vampire race would be such a great addition to the MK universe, adding such great storylines in the process.
For starters, imagine a hybrid of Vampire/Shokan...Vampire/Robot....So many options there...And thats jus for starters!!

Whats the true history of the Vampire realm? How important is the Orb? Is Nitara on home soil?

Nitara is such a strong character, playin a part in the MK:DA storylines of Cyrax & Reptile....

Admittedly her moves werent the best, but her look is amazin, be honest!

She is teh sex!!
What else can the Vampire race or indeed JUST Nitara bring to the MK Universe? Nitara as stated in her MK:DA was able to traverse between realms using Gemstones.. This is interesting indeed.

Thoughts/rants/ideas/storylines for a possible Nitara return in MK7 ?

I'm not a bif fan of Nitara personnally.

I just don't like the fact that she had a blood spit as a weapon(how is it supposed to hurt?). Also vampire doesn't have a place in the MK world IMO, just like pumpkins and werewolves

If we rewound a few years to MK1 and I said to you "Id love a robot to be in MK2" you'd have probably said the same thing you jus then said

But to be fair, to appreciate MK to its fullest, you do have to be extremely open minded.

I appreciate your comments, thanks =)

I love Nitara and wanted her so badly to be in MKD. I was annoyed that she wasn't, but I believe she'll be in MK7.

I want all those questions you put forward answered and I hope we get to see more vampiric traits and abilities in her specials.

I would love to see Nitara back in the next MK, she should have been in MKD. Raiden's MKDA ending hints that she still has some part to play in the future of MK. I'm interested to know what this would be, and who else she'll manage to involve in her next schemes.

As for another new vampire, I'm not too bothered. If they do one, he or she would have to be different enough from Nitara to warrant being there, and not make her lose any of her uniqueness.

A very quickly wrote, short bio :

I woke up to realise I was home. However, something wasn’t quite the same as I had dreamt...Carnage & War had plagued my homeland for some time it would seem. Innocent Vampires were being hunted, maimed, held captive and tortured. I cannot let this continue, the Oni will pay with their blood!

...........

I dunno, thats very basic, very simple, I will add more later to Nitara, I just think she has so much untapped potential.

Indeed they have their right place. Vampires for MK!

In Tibet there is a myth concerning undead what live on human blod, the Rodjung. it is said that if a dead traveller i not buried the proper way under the rocks, evil spirits may possess him and make him an indestructible tool of evil. Vampires-Rodjungs are vulnerable the uncanny ability to be banished by priests however, though it often drags the monk down with him than leave peacefully.

Also, the powerfullest of rodjungs are sinister warriors who possess intelect and a wast knowledge over humans. So much for vampires not belonging to an oriental fighter game.

Besides, it is disturbing how little is known about easterner myth, and people who distance themselves from it. well, still better than those who want cyborgs and cops in MK -sarcasm-

Personally I hope Nitara gets dusted and forgotten about forever, she is the worst character ever created and she looks ridiculous in both outfits, she has no character traits of a 'real' vampire. I mean come on, she likes to suck the oil from robots, she can fight in the daylight, she likes to regurgitate her blood which is what vampires are supposed to thrive on, and she has stupid wings sprouting from her back. From those pictures she also looks like she has got a suntan. She is more like a Pixie than a vampire.

What you just wrote is the typical arguement of the Nitara haters. Yet you all seem to forget two things.

Firstly, the more powerful of vampires are immune to sunlight and do not fear it. It's a very rare vampiric trait, but it is one that on;y few possess.

And secondly, Nitara having wings can be explained simply by the fact that she is not an Earth realm vampire. The vampires we all know exist on Earth. Nitara comes from a completely different realm. So they probably have different strengths to the vampires we know as they are obviosuly a different breed or species. In that respect, they may even have different weaknesses. That can also explain the sunlight immunity.

lol. robots, demons, gods, a ghost, lizards, four armed giants, people with big teeth and blades for arms, sorcerrers that suck souls (wich is practically the same thing), but winged people that suck blood don't fit. lol

Well the most common trait of vampires is that they are demons of the night. Its been like that for centuries, so if they are immune to sunlight, which is probably a new thing, they lose the one thing that they are universally known for. I would describe Nitara as a sunburnt, oil sucking, bulimic winged creature from hell, but not a vampire.

Anyone payed attention to my post above?

Forgot to mention that Rodjungs hunt at day too. The funny part and the couse i've been so astonished by her was that She bers all resemblances to a tibetan vampire.

So that makes the traditional can't bear the sun (storyline explained: bears a magical amulet of somesort, and only Earths sun harms her), has wings ... argument completely futile and justifies my theory on the oriental origins of Nitaras character.

if you want a lecture about vamps, ask me with a PM.

Now Vampires in my opinon do fit in MK, just don't have a whole lot of them. I personally like vampires and do a whole lot of reading in regards to mythology and folklore.

Now those who think vampires die the instantly they are in the sun are completely mistaken, that is a fabrication of the movies I will explain more next time if anyone asks. But right now I hope that Nitara is in MK7.

Vampires have to play an important role in the story! Nitara is one of the characters with most potential. She made an impressive and shocking debut in MKDA which won her many fans. She is the reason why Reptile couldn’t help Kahn, and because of her the “Emperor was defeated” (that’s what we know during MKDA).

Her and Cyraxs absence in MKD makes us all assume that her ending happened, which perfectly ties with Cyraxs and Reptiles (cannon). If Nitara managed to free her people by breaking the orb, then she must be busy reconstructing her world, getting stronger. Her necklace is also interesting, we know is the reason why she can travel to many realms and even be immune to earths light.

What will she do? So many potential stories can be developed for our vampire. Will she aid Earth? Join Onaga? Join the One being and invade earth? Nitara is a neutral character, to me, she seems more good then evil.

Many were upset because of her absence in MKD, my guess is that they were letting her rest to bring her back, better then ever in Mk7.

Nitara has huge potential....I hope they use it.

Id like to see Nitara back with a sidekick, male or female.

The vampires could invade earth to feed off of everyone and Nitara could try and take over.

She has lots of potential.

Exactly as I was sayin...the storyline potential Nitara and other Vampires have, is untouched..

Hybrids of Vampire/Cyborg, Vampire/Shokan, Vampire/Tartakan etc etc..

But not only that, who Nitara would go against...Altho neutral, she has an element of good nature in her, altho one cud question that if we see her invading Earthrealm lookin for "fresh blood" as it were....

Just one thing 2 mention, Id love for a fatality of hers 2 be slightly differnt to the normal "from distance" fatality angle we're used to seeing.

Id like Nitara 2 move into her oponent...and for the camera angle to be as if we're seein it from her POV, and the camera speeds into the neck of the victim, and we get a close glimpse of Nitara's maniacal facial expression, complete with blood drippin from her fangs....

And then we see the lifeless opponents body, jus drop to its knees and then to the floor..

FATALITY!

Ha, Id like that.

I have an idea. Why not make Nitara like a special character. Whenever she is fighting in a match certain aspects of the match change. For instance, everytime someone picks Nitara, a normally bright arena with the sun visible should turn to night with a full moon. The opponent should have a string of garlic around their neck while fighting and there should be a special holy water throw move that every character can do but only appears when fighting against Nitara... and a special fatality move that every character can do only against Nitara and that is they stake her in her heart. Make her seem more like a vampire. And take away the wings!!!

I hope Nitara comes back in MK7. I think her story can go far, I think her story is very interesting. Since she is neutral her story can go in so many directions. If she comes back with a new look, that will be even better; if not then is fine by me. I think it will be a great idea if she returns with maybe a male vampire too. Just to make her storye more interesting, since I guess some people don't find it interesting. I personally find it interesting. Anyway I hope she returns in MK7.

Why would holy water hurt a vampire? in Masquarade theese things only happen to hurt you if you actualy believe in the Allmighty God.

Now, except for Sonya or Jax, i canot believe any charac ter believes in the Creator. And second, why would garlic harm them? Thats one of the half asssed ideas of all time.

That should tell you everything about garlic and vampires. Apparently it dates back to ancient times, it states "garlic is a weapon of very great importance in the everlasting battle against vampires".

As for holy water. Vampires are unholy creatures. Anything to do with god sickens them, and since holy water is blessed by priests, they don't like it too much. I'm not an expert on vamps, but I want them to get at least Nitara right.

Heres the text cut'n'pasted from the site if you can be bothered to read it:

The use of Garlic (Allium Sativum) as a charm against the powers of evil seems to date back to ancient times. According to Lewis Spence, the ancient Egyptians believed in a vampire-like ghost that killed sleeping children by sucking up their breath. Believe it or not, the repellent that was used against the attacks of this murderous monster was a wreath of garlic.

The Imperial Dictionary (1894) tells us that garlic is: "a hardy bulbous perennial, indigenous to the South of France, Sicily, and the South of Europe". It would appear, however, that the use of garlic is known all over the world, not only as a tasty culinary asset, but also as a charm against evil spirits. The British vampire expert Montague Summers gives us several examples. Even in places as exotic as China or Malaysia people smear the forehead of their children to protect them from vampires, and in the West Indies too, garlic is used as a means of protection against the evil practices and magic spells of witches and sorcerers.

Adrien Cremene confirms that, in Romania, garlic is a weapon of very great importance in the everlasting battle against vampires. Lots of Romanians used to make certain that they ate some garlic every day for their personal protection. But they also smeared garlic on the windows and the doors of their houses, on the gates to their farmyards, and even on the horns of their cattle. They believed that the STRIGOI had a great fear of garlic.

But this is not the only way in which USTUROI (garlic) was employed against Romanian vampires. If a deceased person was thought to be in danger of becoming a vampire, one of the most common protective measures was stuffing some pieces of garlic into the orifices of the corpse, especially the mouth. This was done in order to prevent evil spirits from entering the dead body. At the same times it served the purpose of preventing the soul of the deceased from re-entering its body. Another interesting anti-vampire practice that we can find in Romania is the anointing of the corpse, especially the heels, with a mixture of oil, fat, incense, gunpowder and - of course - garlic.

From a book by Chedo Mijatovich we learn that among the Serbian peasants the night of Shrove Tuesday was considered to be a very dangerous night. According to the Serbs lots of evil witches were uncommonly active during this particular night. Therefore, on this night, lots of Serbs slept with a piece of garlic under their pillow. Or, alternatively, they might wear a piece of garlic inside a special amulet around their neck.

We would be much mistaken, however, to think that it is only the bulb or the cloves of garlic that can be used against vampires. In Stoker's "DRACULA" we can read how my fellow countryman Professor van Helsing fills up a bedroom, not with wreaths of garlic bulbs, but with GARLIC FLOWERS instead, in a commendable attempt to protect Miss Lucy from the bloodthirsty advances of Count Dracula. Stoker's tale is merely fiction, or is it ? For in another book by Tekla Dömötör, a serious Hungarian professor, we find a photograph of a wreath made from the stems of garlic flowers, which is used in Hungarian villages as a means to ward off evil. It would appear then that each and every bit of the powerful garlic plant can be used as an apotropaic.

The French occultist Robert Ambelain has his own remarkable ideas about the use of garlic against vampires. He claims that originally it was not GARLIC but ARSENIC that was thought to have a power against evil. Ambelain tells us that the shepherds in the Carpathian mountains used to eat very small quantities of arsenic and feed a little arsenic to their animals as well, in order to protect themselves from vampires. According to Ambelain, the old alchemists from Prague and other cities in Moravia and Bohemia used to burn arsenic to drive away the powers of evil. The burning of arsenic produces toxic fumes that have the same unpleasant smell as garlic. The thrifty peasants noticed that the magic fumes of the alchemists smelt just like garlic. And so they figured that it would be cheaper to use garlic than hire an expensive alchemist to do the exorcism. And that, according to Ambelain, is how people came to use garlic as a defense against vampires. All in all, I can't help feeling that Ambelain's hypothesis seems rather farfetched.

WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING

It goes without saying that the ingestion of a deadly poison like arsenic - even in small quantities - is an extremely hazardous undertaking which I will not recommend to anyone. I think that it could be quite unhealthy for you, possibly lethal, and your death would be most unpleasant. It is much wiser to eat garlic instead.

However, even the use of garlic is not without its dangers. I think that most people who have an interest in vampires will have heard of the tragical event that happened in the English town of Stoke-on-Trent in 1973, where they discovered the dead body of a gentleman of Polish origin. At the inquest it was found that the unfortunate man had died by choking on a piece of garlic, which he had put in his mouth before going to sleep in order to ward off vampires during the night.

I think 2 many people are gettin wrapped up in what we "know" Vampires to be like, and the impact that Nitara could have in future MK's...

Its all good and well researching and sayin "but but, they dont like sunlight" but at the enda the day, this is MK, and anything is possible..

I dont hear any of you sayin :

"but humans cant fire fireballs from their hands"

"I read a book about centaurs, and I didnt see any mention of a shokan being their enemy"

"Ive seen a film about sorcerors, and I dont think they can steal souls"

"Fat drunk people dont throw up"

Oh, wait, I retract that last comment.

But have I made my point? I hope I have. I appreciate opinions and thats what the forums all about, but I was hopin we cud discuss the impact Nitara and the Vampire race could [and hopefully WILL] have on the MK universe in future games.

I hope I dont sound like a bitch, I dont mean 2.

Just trying to keep this thread "on topic" so to speak..
