I would have to say that in MK7 there should not be a must train or konquest mode. I think instead of Konquest they should have a Training/Practice. Where you can pick a fighter and an opponent and choose to train on a specific style/combo or something.

I think the Krypt should be redone and the idea of finding keys scraped. If there is a Krypt where you unlock characters I think it should be random like how in RPG's dungeons and such are random. The Tech is there Midway.

Just my opinion, you either love it, hate it, hate to love it, love to hate it.

I think they should have konquest that you do with the actual fighters and training can be either you just concentrate on a combo or move or do the whole training

I think the MK Team needs to totally trash Konquest mode and figure out a new way of unlocking characters, costumes, stories, etc.... The Konquest mode in Deception was so annoying and so tedious.

Peace Out

I agree and disagree with you. Training should be a must for anyone wanting to get the basics of the fighting system. I agree that training should not be apart of Konquest. One of the things I wish you could have done in MK: DA training was to repeat a training session ( one of the 1- 10) instead of having to beat Konquest just to pick a character again. Instead training needs to be seprate just as arcade mode and practice mode is, but with more selectables in terms of what you want to train 1st. For example do I want to learn a characters special moves 1st , how his this works and so forth.

Konquest IMO should never been like it is in Deception ever again. Instead MK: DA's type of Konquest should come back with an addation of a few pics or FMV would be a nice addation. Konquest needs to stay to flesh out the storyline like MK: DA Konquest did.

When it comes to unlockables such as bios, storyline parts, concept art, renders MK7 should take MK3 has an example. Like MK3 things should be unlocked based on how on what setting you beat the game one or even crazy stuff like you get to reptile in MK1. The money system in MK: DA and Deception was an ok idea, but now I think it is a little old. I hope the MK team make players dig at the same time make the player gain access to secrets or whatever through the fighting game itself rather than money and running around in a GTA clone game.

Since the idea of Konquest mode was essentially a rip of Soul Blade/Caliburs Weapon Master modes, they should just do something like that. A series of 10 - 12 story-based battles detailing their involvement in MK7. For each victory you receive a new item or extra for that particular character. So for example, if MK were to 'borrow' the VF/Tekken idea of getting custom outfit pieces for your characters, you could use this mode to unlock the extra costumes and sets of costume pieces to customize the character. MK has been really stingy with the extra costumes lately, which sucks, especially since MK4 had so many.

Konquest is just command training. They should put that into practice mode instead of making it a big part of the game.

There should be better ways for secrets:

Getting a winning streak in Vs mode(Bring back the initial screen!)
Doing a fatality on a certain stage with a flawless victory on MAX.

If they made the secrets are hard to get it would feel better unlocking them.I want that feeling back that I had when I first stumbled upon Noob Saibot in MK2.It's that surprised feeling I like.

I would like to see a return of DA's Konquest mode, as I liked getting all of the info on the characters. I think Deception's Konquest mode was good, but the production values were just not high enough, Still, you can't have everything when the rest of thegame was that good. I will forever be haunted by "Shujinko..I ate some bad Kimchee". sad

I must say i preferred DA's Konquest mode, although it was cool gettingto see Shujinko's progression as a kombatant.

I guess I'm like the only person who liked the Konquest mode in Deception.. I think it needed to be a lot more improved, and also have one with each character or a created character. I think they should make Konquest similar to Metal Gear Solid games(not stealth, but the freedom in things you can do, like eat, kill inseveral different ways, be stealthy or run through shooting, etc.). Also, I think they should do the game more like DBZ Budokai 3, in that there's a Story Mode, and there's like 10 training sessions. So they could have Konquest minus the training, and then have a training session for every character, and maybe have even more unlockables for every character you've beaten it with(like have concept art, all endings from previous games rolled into one clip, misc. info or not-very-well known info, etc). That would be the best. I think they should just have it like this:

Arcade
Versus
Konquest
Training
Practice
Extras

And the extras shouldn't be so lame this time. DA did okay on it, but Deception sucked. It had even LESS unique things, and what the hell's with those retarded pictures of the staff? Who gives a damn about what the staff looks like?!
