i think so too, they kinda destroyed him by teaming him up with smoke, but i think he should keep monkey, or have some other similar animal style.

monkey is'nt all that bad of a style... they just needed to give him some more moves of the style, and some more combos, and it could've worked.

i think they should go along with a bit of a more different outfit but not go back to how all the ninja's looked liked before, you know, pallette swaps, though i liked noob saibot's outfit in mk:d, i thought it looked rather fitting and cool looking.

No, for one game, a Noob/Smoke team up was good. But keep it unique by letting them apart.

It would be awsome if they had seperate moves. Like if Noob Saibot had his monkey fighting style, Drahmans Netherelm style, and if Noob beat Ashrah he could take her Kriss and call it the "Tainted Kriss" saying that upon Ashrah's defeat he claimed her sword as a trophy. Noobs evil made it a weapon of evil that only makes him more currupted. Or he could have his Sythe from MK4 and MKG. That would be kick ass! Smoke could have his style Mi Tzu and he could have the netherrelm since he was turned into a demon, and his weapon would be like a mace and sword type weapon. That two would be kick ass!!

NO SMOKING NOOB- a hint randomly mentioned in MKD. perhaps it means Noob Saibot alone is playable.

to be honest i hope they never seperate them! i love Noob and Smoke together gameplay wise like in MKD. ive always HATED Noob Saibot and Smoke when they have been alone in all past MK's. seriousely they r a couple of my most hated characters of all time in MK! but i love them together as Noob-Smoke. my 5th fav all time character (even tho its 2 dif chats) is Noob-Smoke. i will always love Noob-Smoke but will mostlikely always hate Noob Siabot and Smoke when alone. perhaps not but i dont want to take that chance.

I hope Noob Saibot kills Sub-Zero and becomes human somehow once again and is the original Subbie with shadow and ice powers both. That's my idea for MK7.

I think Vogel is one of the best things that has ever happened to MK's story, and Boon has been awesome about listening to the fans, and that's why it kills me that they fucked the Smoke fanbase so hard by fusing his character.

I'm never going to forget how great I felt when Konqrr gave me the heads up on Smoke's return a month before it was announced (by the way, if you're reading this Konqrr, I really don't know how to thank you enough, man. You didn't have to do that). Than when Game Informer gave the official word, I was even more excited. That joy and excitement within fermented into an anxious suspense, then September came. When I read that only half my character wasn't exactlly returning, but just coming back as component of Noob, it killed any joy and anticipation I had for MKD. For me, Smoke WAS MKD.

And what pisses me off to no end is that Vogel hinted that the two will probably stay fused because of the "Positive Fan Reaction." Do you people know where this "positive fan reaction" came from? It was the people who thought both characters were shitty swaps and were now made into something useful. In their minds, Boon finally made due with that "Grey Scorpion." On the other side of the field, the fans who had waited EIGHT FUCKING YEARS were the ones who got screwed. And as small as the Smoke fanbase is, they'll probably throw away Smoke's character long before they'd ever bring him back as a whole. Now that Noob is reveiled as "the original Subzero," he'll probably make it into every MK game from now on.

What I wouldn't give to have five minutes to explain to Vogel who badly he screwed the true Smoke fans. Even if it didn't change anything, I don't care. I don't expect him to change anything, I just hate the fact that he goes on life thinking he did the Smoke fanbase some huge fuckin' favor by getting our hopes up for six months only to later get kicked in the nuts. If they had been paying attention at all, they should have known that the thing that everybody really wanted was to see Smoke and Sub reunite and kick some ass.

As cool as that would be, I somehow don't think it would happen. Not that it wouldn't be awesome.

I've always like Smoke even if he's been a palette swap with scorpion. As for Noob I like his character, but I never really liked how he played. With MK:D they really didn't do much to help either character. It's a cool concept, but it just didn't work out in my opinion. They really showld just leave both charcters seperate, and go back to the drawing board.



Thats one of the coolest ideas I've heard in a while. Maybe they should have some kind of arch where he goes to Frost's tomb and takes the dragon madalion from her that she stole from Sub-Zero in MK:DA, to try and get his ice powers back, but instead it just fuses with his shadow abilites. He could have some similar moves as Sub-zero, but instead of freezing with ice he would freeze with a shadow cloud or something.

I acctually liked the way they made Noob-Smoke. I thought it was cool to see them both working together to defeat you. Not to mention when your fighting them and they start to come in and out switching rapidly it's so cool to watch. It' makes me sad to think that they will most likely seperate them. I thought the entire concept of them working together like that was one of the coolest things in MKD.

I like Noob and Smoke alone, but it was a good idea to put them together in ONE game. I don't hink they will be together in the same one since we know that Smoke was Sub2's friend and that he still part of his old soul, so he will keep Noob from killing his brother, but not kill him of course.

Well... not quite. According to Vogel, his response kind of implied that because of the "positve reaction," they would probably returned in current condition. Unfortunately, if they are seperated, probably only Sub-Saibot is returning.

All this Smoke discussion is making me depressed.

Personally, I love the idea of a tag team for a sub boss in MKD... Noob Smoke was an okay team. But IMO, the tag team idea was great for MK during Deception only, and should'nt be in MK7.

But, I'd like to see them separately in the upcoming game.... Noob Saibot and Smoke should both have three styles like everyone, I think they deserve it. Noob's scythe was so perfect.... and Smoke needs a new ninja makeover and an unexpected change of story.... he needs to become a top tier; he is one of the classic characters (according to me, the classics are the MK1 and MK2 characters) and should be a star in MK7.

That first part excites me... but I wouldn't want them to leave Smoke out of the next game. I'd really like to see em both together again or maybe add a new mode to MK... sorta like Tekken Tag. That might interesting if you could tag with someone.

That idea as well as a 4-way fight was something that was planned for MK:D, but didn't make it in because of time, it's going to be in MK:SM, so if it's recieved well it will most likely make it into MK7.

I'm really disgusted with how they took Smoke and pretty much put him into Noob's shadow.
Now, I'm not taking anything away from Noob, I think he's a greate character, but he should stand on his own, NOT with Smoke.

It's not even the fact that they're a team, it's the fact that Smoke, if you realized this, had no voice in Deception. The Noob-Smoke bio was all about Noob, and only a quick blurb about Smoke. Their ending completely contridicts what we knew about Smoke and how he regained his soul, as well as the completely ignored fact that Noob, (Sub I) was opposed to techonology. Which, if the MK story carried any merit, would mean that he couldn't have "reprogramed" Smoke. The only thing that gives me any hope that Smoke will be a stand alone character is Ashrah's ending.

Here's the clincher, read for this?
In the dvd, when you watch Smoke's bio, it's stated that the ONLY reason he's in the game is because people have been asking for him. He carries no story merrit what so ever and was only put in as some half-assed attempt to provide fan service.

If I find Boon or Vogel on Xbox Live, and I know it's them, we're going to have a serious talk about this issue as I beat him down with Noob-Smoke to make it sink in all the more.

Nikodemus: I respect you liking for the character fusion, but wouldn't it make sense to do for characters like Quan/Shang or Raiden/*another character*. Smoke fans have really been snubbed badly, so I'd think it would only be fair if they fused characters who have seen a good deal of kombat in series.

I'm glad you mentioned the MK3 ending. With the way things were going, I really don't think there was any excuse to leave Smoke out of MK4, and I certainly don't see why they scrapped an ending that could have easily been canon.

Hey I've been a smole fan ever since he kicked my ass in MK2 when I faught him in Goro's lair. I think he should have had a better storyline but I think him and Noob together are great fun. Oh well I guess I'm the only one.

I'm not saying that Noob Smoke is a bad character. I like it, I'm just saying that after 8 years, Smoke makes his return and as what? A cybernetic shadow to Noob. That's what pisses me off the most. Smoke was only half a character in Deception, that's not cool. He's probably the, and I hate to say this "pallet swap" character that has garnered the biggest following. He gets his first unique look and it's pretty much all for show...... What a waste of a return.

I think I understand what your saying...If Smoke was my favorite character I'd probably be upset to see him as only half a character.
