You and me both. Deception easily had my favorite game modes. Chess Kombat was great.

Deception was my favorite game. Chess Kombat was always fun to play, but Konquest mode left an huge impact on me.


I thought Deception's Konquest was the best too. Armageddon's was okay but Deception's had a certain depth that hadn't really been explored in the MK universe.

Yes, in Deception you could just hang out in Outworld, see what Ermac's up to, spy on Edenian politics, or just punch old hags. Heck, for all we know we might have already got a piece of Blanche... the poor old lady.

On the other hand, Armageddon's Konquest was a beat-em up so it got repetitive real fast. But back on topic, Chess Kombat was their best mini-game and it actually capitalized on the fighting engine. Every other one like Puzzle or Motor Kombat were fun "mini-games" but they were more like separate gimmicks. Hope chess is welcomed back to the series.

So please Boon, stop pulling our legs on stuff like this lol.

I'm hoping they utilize that depth in MKX. Especially with the time jumps. A lot can happen in 25 years. Including the stuff that happens in the shadows of MK.
Maybe he's hinting at another board game style mode.

"Will Scorpion have his airthrow in MKX? Haven't seen it yet. Hoping for a Spinning Izuna Drop style one... maybe as the EX?"

That's twice now Boon's tweeted a "female Scorpion" (EDIT: 3 and a half times)... Uh-oh.
And I've been thinking about Boon talking about this whole generation of Sub-Zero's and that this Sub-Zero could be entirely someone else. Could it be Kuai Liang's son? I know a lot of people have been shipping Sub-Zero and Sareena, so could it be that things got a little too hot and spicy in the Netherrealm?
Sure I can picture Sub-Zero settling down and having a kid, but Scorpion... how would he find the time when he's busy being so angry? Unless of course it's his kid from the past...
I know this is all just speculation and bizarre theories, but any thoughts on this matter?

I actually really hope kitana wont be taking up a roster slot. Now i know she still probably is one of the top ten most popular chars, but im so tired of her and not like all the top favs will be there anyways. Id like to see tanya back or jade back if she dont suck, but really im just tired of kitana and honestly i dont understand what has kept her so popular?

I still have hope for Kitana, even if it's just a tiny bit.

Let me clarify - I have hope for her as a character in the "big picture" of MK, but I do not want her in MKX. At least in the initial roster, I'm fine with DLC and story mode cameo.
