Every MK that Smoke has been in with the exception of MK 2,Smoke has been programmed and controlled by someone, whether Lin Kuia in MK 3 at the end or UMK3/Trilogy,only to one day find his true soul???Then Zero fights him defeats him reprograms Smoke again to fight and convince him to fight with Zero and his side.(In Zeros Ending)They fight Sektor and Cyrax together.
Then in the second movie, they fucked up the story completely as you guys know if your as Diehard as i am about MK,and made Smoke Reprogrammed by Shao Kahn to kill Lui Kang instead of Zero!!!!wink

Then in Deception poor Smokey gets captured by Noob and once again reprogrammed to fight with someone ,only noob in this case, for the side of Evil.....But in Ashrahs ending you can clearly see that she defeats Noob, but at the same time smoke couldn't fight,as he was malfuntioning, his soul would prevent him from being taken over completely because there was some good left in his soul.

Whatever happens hopefully Smoke will separate from Noob once and for all,and Smoke can once again fight along side the rest of the chosen warriors and once again fight for the good side as he was meant to be...If Kabal can go back to his old ways of Evil, then why not Smoke in MK7 going back to his true good ways in his heart and soul.
The question is how will he come back to the side of light and not Darkness in MK7????That scene in Ashrahs ending had to mean something!!!??
I hope he fights with the rest of the good guys in the next MK,so my question for you guys is in MK7 which side do you think he will fight for and how does this happen in the next MK????

I think Sub-Zero will find him again mabey and then reprogram him and this time use his Amulet as well as the power of true friendship to cure Smoke once and for all...or mabey Sub-Zero captures Smoke after defeating him and brings Smoke to Ermac and perhaps Ermac can help with his powers, perhaps he can drain the evil influence within smoke while Sub-Zero ,Smokes long time friend can reprogram him as well as get to Smoke emotionally,as he once did before.

Smoke has always been one of my all time favorite characters. Youre right, ever since he lost his independence after MK2 he seems to be captured or reprogramed or loosing his soul or something. No worries, this time they will make smoke look pretty cool in MK7, and he shall be independent of Noob Saibot! No matter what for the rervival of smoke he needs to be an indevidual character.

two ideas

1. Smoke is caught in an explosion, rendering what little soul he had left as his only physical body. he is a pure cloud of smoke. condensed in the middle, the cloud forms a vague figure of a man. now, completely free of his robotic instincts to follow, Smoke seeks an escape from the netherrealm before Noob Saibot can use him for more evil.

2. Smoke is severely damged by his battle with Sub-Zero. his armor has been partially destroyed, revealing the face of a man who once felt emotion. his eyes have crosshairs and his face is gray. severed wires spout smoke constantly. he now constantly switches between his robo conscience and his human mind. for the first time since the failed assassination of Shang Tsung, Smoke breaths on his own will... every few seconds. now, Smoke must find a way to destroy the shorting chip in his skull before Noob Saibot can catch him

...basically the same exept one has etheral gas grin

I heard this from John Vogel. He said that while the Asharah Noob fight, Smoke's soul fights Noob's programing. But the negative aspects of the programing are strengthened by the Netherealm and fully take control of Smoke. He then turns into a cyber-demon. So his odd looking alternate costume with Noob showing his upper body as smokey must be the cyber demon form John was talking about.

I personally hope that Vogel changes this as I want Smoke back in the Lin Kuei with his good friend Sub-Zero.

Well..actually, that was meant to be an original concept for Smoke's ending. You see, there were originally going to be two endings for Noob-Smoke: one for Noob and one for Smoke. The thing you were talking about was going to be Smoke's ending.

I'm interested to see what becomes of Smoke in MK7. He has a good possibility of being freed from Noob's control, one way or another. It would be interesting to see Sub-Zero fight Smoke to try to save him.

Smoke needs to be a wild card in the future Mortal Kombats. Smoke should break free of Noob Saibot's control but the question must still remain on whether or not he would strike his old friend down if he encountered him.

Smoke in my eyes should be conflicted like the Ninja in Metal Gear Solid. When approaching him, you know not of his true intentions and are intimidated by him. Have Smoke get some of his memory back and have him go insane with his struggle on fighting his orders and following his soul.

The next Mortal Kombat game should determine whether or not Smoke will officialy become a cyborg or be a human. And have tha decision be canon for good. Also, Smoke should be involved in the Noob Saibot, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero struggle that is bound to happen in the future Mortal Kombat games.

I like that whole metal gear solid theory, however i still want to see Smoke turn good......Mabey there can be a fight between Smoke,Sub-Zero,Scorpion as a wild card...and Ermac helping out soul wise because out of the other two ninjas, only Ermac has the power to clense smokes soul.grinSub-zero for guidence, and scorpion for as a wild card character that might turn good in MK7 like Ermac did in Deception.

Aside from that John Tobias is not with Midway anymore.

I kinda lik the idea having Smoke made into a decent killer with Noob Saibot. Too many good guys anyway.

I agree with Grizzle. Smoke should be the tormented soul in a ninja's body. After all of the shit Smoke has been through he should come back on the brink of insanity. Wether he should be Sub-Zero's friend is up for debate. I personally think they should detract from this. Things do change so I would like to see an actual fight between the two former friends, provided the circumstances require it. I believe that Smoke is one of the few characters who's power hasn't been brought out yet and with him being a wraith now, it leaves a some awesome possibilites.

Well Smoke is definately my favorite MK character of all time, and i was personally pissed by the fact that he played second hand to Noob in deception. I also don't like the fact that Smoke has been stuck with his cyborg self this whole time. In MK7, what would interest me most is if Smoke comes back as a human, or at least half human looking, and not like his alternate or normal costume in deception. I have a very strong feeling that if he does return that they will keep him the same or use his alternate, but I would rather him be able to make his own decisions without ppl messing with his mind.

Thats just the thing Smoke 01,as long as he's a robot he can always be reprogrammed, know what i mean.

I want him back to look like a human but yet cyber like, meaning have him look somthing similiar to a strogg from quake/The Borg or something.Have him look human with wires connecting from his neck to his shoulders with cyber looking arms and legs, but not completely metal, know what i mean??Also have his eyes look like anakins eyes from Star Wars, those evil red eyes because he's been through so much.smileHe should also have blinking lights all over him, similiar to cyrax in MK:DA only not 100% robot looking.smile

I don't know if you guys know what i mean.

hwat if smoke became a wraith or a specter but was incontrol of himself and wasnt controlled by noob or anybody imagine if he becamse a specter because he finnaly died i dont want smoke to return as a cyborg he could either finnally die and come back as a wraith- he would then become evil but if he became a specter he would be good and form an alliance with subby his possibilities are endless
