I'd quite like Blaze to return, he actually looked good, though he didnt have styles etc of his own or finishers which let him down. I also want to know what his quest was.

I think his quest was just to guard the Dragon Egg from Danger. If someone tried to smash it or tamper with it he would fight them off. Once the egg had hatched, his quest was finished. Tho perhaps he has to go off and look for some of the Drgon Kings allies.

Although I think Blaze was a one off "theory come true" creation, I would like to find out more details about him, and his quest. I hope they use the MKDA concept art to revamp him if Blaze ever does come back, with the small axes as his weapon.

That was actually what Blaze was forced to do when he was ambushed by the holy men of Onaga. Before this, he had embarked on a quest of his own, and I personally cannot wait to find out what it is. I agree he was simply a rumor-clearing character, but that doesn't mean they should abandon him in Deadly Alliance. Midway could always improve a character which they had left behind, like Kurtis Stryker.

Whatever Blaze's quest is, it is an ancient one. Onaga had been previously dead for thousands of years, even before Shao Kahn's empire was established.

I can only connect Blaze's quest to the mysterious "One Being" that was mentioned in Konquest mode. Other than that, I am puzzled on what Blaze's true intentions are. If Blaze makes an appearence in the next Mortal Kombat I hope his quest is revealed.

it'd be kool to see Hornbuckle in a future game as well.
