The game is still fresh and a Reptile player won my Gamestop tournament.

I think Reptile is one of those characters that are more fuss than action. People seriously bombarded Boon about him before being confirmed...

Even though I like Reptiles fatalities his brutalities are a bit too generic and boring. There are two of them I like out of the five but the rest are meh. I still haven't seen his X-Ray Brutality yet. It may make up for it I hope.

My man Reptile is already rocking with me.

I do not give a damn if he isn't that popular or not.

He is a legend in my eyes since my child days

I'm using him right now in the survival tower. He's a beast! (Pun Intended)

I main Reptile and have since MKII and nothing will make me switch. Not even his awful look from MK DA.

Since we're on the subject of Reptile, does anyone have any good combos they can write in this forum? Haven't had much of a chance to play yet and I'm looking for some stuff to try

Awesome! I have some set ups I was trying out last night, still need some work though.

This is a nice easy combo for Reptile

B, X, Y, Elbow Dash, Y, X, > B, X, Y, Slide

Idk how much he will be played, you never know, im sure in the right hands he can be trouble, I played around with him and enjoyed him, ill definitely have to take him into practice mode sometime and really play him for a while.

And I know its always been like this but man is the start up on his forceball slow :/

Reptile is AWESOME in this game. He's very fun! And his Tournament costume? Beautiful. My boy!

A few novice observations about Reptile:

- Dash is not as "spammy" as MK9. There seems to be a delay between dashes and it's slightly harder to execute.

-forceball is really, really slow to come out. It is extremely risky now to use a forceball. Moreso because the input is now down to forward instead of back back. At least with the old input you are backing up.

I really don't like playing as Reptile but NRS did a good job with him in the story. They did him justice as a frontman instead of a lacky as in previous games.

Yup he is far better as in MK 9

I'm really interested to see what this Kraken Reptile skin is all about. I'm glad it's out first with Jason so we should see in just a few short weeks.

Reptile gets flak for two reason :

-Some people just can't get over him looking like a lizard instead of wearing a human mask like in MK2-3. It's been over a decade and everytime Reptile is shown people still complain about it like Reptile was a human at first. I'm very glad NRS has sticked to their guns since MK4 and haven't given in to complaints.

-He never does anything. He always teams up with whoever's in charge. Sometimes they imply he striked a deal to get his race restored if the villain wins or that he's simply waiting for the perfect moment to strike, but it never leads to anything.

That being said, I love Reptile. He's not someone I play as but he has such interesting abiltiies(and even better now with the MKX variations) that I feel they could spend less time making him a lackey and more time making him seek out a way to restore his race.

If Human Reptile should ever return in story I will dance in joy

Seeing his ending and that human looking female lets me hope.

Until than hybrid Reptile is still outstanding.

I'm fine with him looking like a lizard as long as he's got enough ninja garb like Scrop and Sub get so that he at least resembles the character I grew so attached to as a kid.

His alt in MK4 I thought was perfect for him. I like his look in MKX to a point, but I'd have covered up just a bit more of his skin and make the green parts of his clothes stand out a bit more. That's just me being nitpicky though I guess.

Yeah I prefer "human" Reptile all the way, hoping we may get a human skin for him.

I have come to terms with the fact that he will probably remain more reptilian for as long as MK is around, but I would really enjoy it if they balanced it out more, someone posted some artwork of a fan made design that was just perfect, he was still a reptile, but he had a much more "human" body/physique.

What are you talking about? He's still very much a lacky in Mkx. He just talks a bit more now.

well,the coalesced ini references 4 Reptile skins,instead of 3. So i'm guessing we may have one more surprise in store. But yeah,I'm also hoping for a "human" Reptile skin as well.

I like the fact the NRS has him in lizard form full time... he should be. Plus his unique form makes him more interesting instead of just another boring "human" ninja. He doesn't want to be seen from time to time? Fine. That's what his invisibility is for. He shouldn't be in human form. He should be what he his.

That said. Reptile in MKX:

I think he's fantastic! I've put practice time in with him and he's so cool to play. I especially like that NRS made his fight style take a lot more advantage of the natural agility and speed he has thanks to his race. This is always how Reptile should have played. He's a tricky fellow to lock down and he's incredibly fast (and dangerous). Great job with Reptile, NRS.
